Darth InSidious
Well, I just saw Last of the Time Lords (finally). I was waiting the whole episode for Lucy Saxon to be exposed as a glossy, important character that the story couldn't exist without. Did I miss it? She was useless, except at the end, where she opened the door for the Master to return by taking his ring. Cause InSidious will agree that the Master has been killed off many times before, and always escaped. Only difference now is that they've left the door open, instead of crafting something later on. Interesting thing is, do you know where they nicked that from? The campest film in existence. RedHawke's favourite. Flash Gordon. FFS. I knew Davies wasn't the best writer in the world, but even he must see how useless she is? Understatement of the year. And what the hell is with the TARDIS colliding with the Titanic? How the bloody hell does it punch a whole in the side of another dimension? Two words: Bad. Writing. Unless it has something to do with the 9th Doctor's presence - That doesn't even make sense... and yes, I'm operating under the assumption that the two will meet for an awesomely awesome awesome-fest. You know, the last five times it's been done, it's almost always come out less-than-brilliant. And that was with the likes of Bob Holmes or Lawrence Miles working on it. I shudder to think what would happen with Runt Q Dawkins at the wheel. As long as Davies doesn't write it, anyway... Rest assured that he will. I wish they'd stop writing characters out. I know she's coming back, but for God's sake, pick a bloody companion already. I hate the episodes where they introduce the new companion. I didn't like Rose, and I didn't like Smith and Jones. In the words of the Doctor himself, "I hate starting from scratch...". Yes. Supposedly just chucking characters in, in medio res confuses the audience. For example, regenerating a character within five minutes of meeting them. At least, that's the excuse we were given. And as for the whole Face of Boe thing, I shall quote a friend on another forum... 1) Capt. Jack Scarlet is indestructable...he CANNOT die....yes? 2) We now know that Capt. Jack is really the Face of Boe....yes? 3) Wasn't the Face of Boe "dying" in "New Earth" and had a "Message for The Doctor..."....yes? 4) Did not the Face of Boe then duly give that ("You are Not Alone...") "Message" to The Tenth Doctor.... then "DIE" in "Gridlock"...yes? 5) Wasn't the Face of Boe pregnant (!!!) in "Long Game"....how did Jack manage that...? 6) Did not the Face of Boe also turn up at the "End of The World" in the far distant future too....AFTER the events of "Last of the Big Turds" on present day Earth....BUT Before the events of "New Earth" and also "Gridlock".... thus he must then have known all about The Master etc and the events of "Last of The Time Lords".......yet gave no "Message" etc, or any other warning to the Ninth Doctor then...did he ??...and yet he "Loves" the Doctor so much he kisses him... I did like the dialogues between the Doctor and the Master, though, particularly when the Master was 'dying'. That's the one thing from this episode that I believe the Master would really do - refuse to regenerate simply to piss off the Doctor. Funny. I thought that was one of the most execrable pieces of hammy writing I've ever seen...

But the last five times it was done, it didn't have the awesomnicity of Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant combined. Even if the plot is ass, it'll still have my first and third favourite Doctor's in it, so I won't complain too much. That doesn't even make sense... You're forgetting who the head writer is. He'll find a way for it to make sense in his own twisted way.

Edit: Also, if Russell could manage to get Catherine back, what about bringing Bruno Langley who played Adam Mitchell in the episodes, Dalek and The Long Game. After what the Doctor did to him, I was expecting him to come back for revenge.
Trex
Sorry, this might be because I've just woke up or that I'm still tired, but did someone edit that page or did they actually confirm Catherine Tate returning? Well it's on the actual Doctor Who/BBC website, so I guess it's official. Edit: Also, if Russell could manage to get Catherine back, what about bringing Bruno Langley who played Adam Mitchell in the episodes, Dalek and The Long Game. After what the Doctor did to him, I was expecting him to come back for revenge. LOL. I heard a great half-joking fan made series of conspiracy theories on this. Apparently, he is Davros! Why? He has a thing a thing on his forehead that could become Davros's eye thingy there, thanks to the Dalek episode he knows about the design, look and capabilities of them, and finally he's a scientific genius that's had access to it. I won't be holding my breath too long on this one however. Although, after the capt. Jack/Face of Boe revelation, maybe it's not beyond the writers... Aash Li
>_> Ill only like Donna if she isnt highly annoying and screechy like she was on the christmas special. Although I think she mellowed out a bit by the end of the show.
Darth InSidious
I'm officially a classic-series-only fan now. But the last five times it was done, it didn't have the awesomnicity of Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant combined. Even if the plot is ass, it'll still have my first and third favourite Doctor's in it, so I won't complain too much. Eccleston is a reasonable actor, yes, but his Doctor...wasn't. Tennant seems more and more often to be phoning-in his performances. You're forgetting who the head writer is. He'll find a way for it to make sense in his own twisted way. More likely he'll gloss over the stupidity of it with a piece of glib, nonsensical dialogue. @Dando: I thought the music was campy enough without embellishments...as for the question marks, don't give Rubella N Treehouse ideas! As someone being ardently, if very gradually, won over by the performance of Eccleston as The Doctor, I feel the need to ask who your personal, 'real' Doctor is, and why so. Come to think of it, how about it as a question for everyone. Who is your definitive Doctor? I don't rate Eccelston that highly myself though, even if I do like him. I would personally flip it between Tennant and Tom Baker as the top.
The Doctor
Tom Baker is the definitive Doctor. Sorry, that's just the way it is. He and his scarf are iconic symbols of Doctor Who. Eccleston, however, will always be my favourite. Tennant is alright, but... he's nowhere near the level of Pertwee, Baker, or Davison.
Aash Li
The one Doctor I remember from my childhood was the guy that had the bush of curly brown hair and had wore a scarf alot... >_> Personally I like Tennant better than Eccleston, though I liked that later too... The Doctor
The scarf was Tom Baker. Longest tenure as the Doctor - from 1974-1981. Jelly Babies FTW.

It may be camp, but Queen's soundtrack makes that movie rule the universe. Who else? @Redawke: What makes the film for me is the lines "Quick - check the angular vector of the moon!", and "Flash, I love you, but we only have fourteen hours to save the Earth!" Trex
Bill Hartnell. Who else? You know what, I've never seen either Hartnell or Patrick Troughton in the role (the only ones though). Is that bad? Everywhere seems to have suddenly reduced the DVD prices however, so perhaps I shall venture. @Redawke: What makes the film for me is the lines "Quick - check the angular vector of the moon!", and "Flash, I love you, but we only have fourteen hours to save the Earth!" The Doctor
Another thing. What was the Doctor sorry about in Utopia? When he's talking to the Master from outside the TARDIS. The Doctor: I'm asking you, really, properly, just stop! The Master: Use my name. The Doctor: Master... I'm sorry. The Master: Yeah, well tough! What did the Doctor have to be sorry for? Everywhere seems to have suddenly reduced the DVD prices however, so perhaps I shall venture. I have Tomb of the Cybermen on DVD from the Troughton era, its pretty good, although its the only Troughton I've seen. As for Hartnell, I've seen the first three episodes on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/user/catastrophe26 - Alot of the Hartnell era is here. Another thing. What was the Doctor sorry about in Utopia? The Master: Yeah, well tough! What did the Doctor have to be sorry for? Like alot of things in the new series, its probably never going to be explained fully, although The Doctor forgives him in Last of the Time Lords, although I think that's for all the **** The Doctor has had to put up with from him over the years, just an idea though.
