Pirates of the Outer Rim

Recommended Posts

The next morning, Dash and Bishop were by the Lake, waiting for there accompanying crew members. The suns were bright, and shone beautifully behind the buildings and skyscrapers.

The were sitting on barrels, looking in front of them holograhpic Blue Prints and Maps of the Docks.

Bishop glanced up at Dash "Now, each section of the Docks are divided by Citizen Class Ships. Now the question I should be asking you is; what sort of Ship are you looking for?"

"To find, and erradicate Sakon at the same time, I require a space-worthy ship. For more precise details, mate, I'm looking for a ship; heavily armed and very fast!"

Bishop looked at the Blue Prints. He pointed his finger on a certain section of the map.

"Then we should probably have a look in the Cargo Shippers deck! That place is usually filled with Smuggler and/or mercenary ships. Those guys are always shipping cargo for Freelance Work, and plus, those ships are heavily armed for security and incredibly fast for deliveries. I recommend we start there!"

"Morning, sunshine!" Bishop smiled as he greeted Lulana. "Dash and I were just looking for our new ship."

"My feeling tells we should of course query this rather, strange looking contraption for any new arrivals of ships!"

"Dash, it is called a computer!" Bishop stared.

"So it is!" Dash rubbed the holoprojector, but Bishop slapped the captains hand off it. Bishop hacked into the database for any new arrivals. There were; and only one.

"The Dark Angel. Captained by Jolan Reed, a spice smuggler. But his ship... is very impressive!"

He glanced over at Lulana. "Can you please wake everyone else up? We're heading for work straight away..."

Lulana nodded. "Sure thing." She ran back to Analla's and Jordan's quarters. "Hey, Analla! Jordan! Rise n' shine!" The young teenage pirate, who slept in her own bed, moaned, and sat on her bed. Analla yarns. "G...Good morning, Lulani." "Lulana." Analla replied, "Yeah, forgot. Where's Dash and Bishop?"

"They're at the docks, waiting for us. So... lets get movin', girls!" Lulana walks out, smiling. Analla gets up, and heads for the bathroom. "Ooh... I wish I went to bed earlier."

"Check this out!" Bishop said to Dash, looking at the details of the Dark Angel.

"Dual light turbolasers, Dual ion cannon turret, Triple blasters, Concussion missile launchers, modifed Hyperdrive and navigational charts."

Dash looked up and smiled. "YV-929 ?"

"You know it! Very nice Light Freighter, and perfect for pirating!"

"That's our ship!" he said gleecefully.

Bishop looked up at the arriving crew.

"Good news! We've found our ship!"

As Analla followed Lulana, they found Dash and Bishop in front of a ship. It was huge! "Woah! That's a sweet lookin' ship! Oh, oh! I wanna get on, I wanna get on!" You could tell that the young girl was excited.

Lulana walked by Bishop's side, and chuckled. "Yes. That is a sweet looking ship. She might do just fine."

"Now! According to these maps..." Bishop stated, as he ran his index finger on the holographic projections. "Security forces have been placed in several sections of the Dock. We need some kind of distraction to allow us to enter the Shipment sector so we can steal the Dark Angel!"

Dash glanced up at Bishop, then the rest of the crew. He was open to any suggestions.

Jordan laughed softly as she joined the others, just a few seconds after Analla came down... and just in time to hear that they needed a distraction. Without warning, the drink in Dash's hand was torn away and lifted high into the air.

"I am a distraction," she said, lowering the drink back into Dash's hand. "Leave the distraction to me. Get the ship powered on and into the air. I'll join you there and take over the piloting."

With a grin she said, "Just like that," and snapped her fingers to emphasize 'that'.

Lulana nodded and smiled. Although she couldn't feel the Force in Jordan, she was good at lifting things without touching them. Telekinesis was her best guess. "All right, then. Let's do it."

Analla, who began calm after her excitment, agreed. "Yeah! Let's get ready for adventure!" She turned to Jordan. "Ya sure ya don't want me to come with you, Jordan?"

The crew faced the structure of the dock. It looked like framwork of an unfinished buidling, but it was very usefull to serve as a dock. It grew into the sky, towering the other skyscrapers around it. The levels of the dock was crowded with parking ships, landing on platforms that hung like leaves on the structure.

Dash walked silly towards the elevator, and urged the crew to come inside the elevator wit him. Until everybody was inside the cramped chamber, the elevator moved up. Silence.

"A question has just suddenly popped into my mind!" Dash finally spoke. "Is that little stolen shuttle of ours still there? I suppose if our journey leads us to this Dark Angel, we shan't be needing our little theft from Rav anymore!"

The elevator stopped and the door slowly opened. They were on the Shipment Level, where all the Light Freighters were. Over in the distance, they saw the ship they were looking for; The Dark Angel. Waiting for its owner to return. Like most ships of the same model, Dash imagined the Dark Angel would be a gun-metal grey colour. He almost laughed, as he saw why it was called "the Dark Angel". Because the entire ship was painted jet black. Dash couldn't help but admire the gorgeous freighter.

"She sure is pretty! Let's get this plan over and done with, shall we?" He walked over to Jordan, and put a hand around her shoulder.

"Fill the blanks, but I assume it is you, girly, who is going to create the diversion? And what exactly did you have in mind, if you do not mind me asking as my curiosity drives me insane!"

He looked over at the two, armoured uniformed guards standing by the gate of the level.

Jordan laughed softly and stepped out in plain view of the guards before Dash could stop her. As she walked forward, she called back to him, "You just worry about getting the ship."

The guards automatically aimed their high-powered blaster rifles at her as she approached. "You're not allowed to be here, miss."

"I will be here," Jordan stated boldly. "You would do well to stand down."

She waited for a moment as the guards conferred with one another.

"Reed said an arrogant little schutta would come 'round after a while," one of them murmured to the other. "If this is her, then aren't we supposed to let her in?"

"Think he said to call him when she got here too..." the other guard answered. "She's some sort of... hotshot pilot, I think he said." He began to laugh and his partner joined in.

"Sorta helps for him just gone and shot his old pilot!" the first man exclaimed through his chuckles. Then, they turned back to Jordan.

"You a pilot, little miss?" the second demanded.

"Of course I am," Jordan snapped, falling into the character of an 'arrogant little schutta'. "Now if you don't mind, I've got a security team with me and I want them to go over the full of the ship before the Captain is called, understand?"

"Ah, right," the first guard agreed, winking at her. "We'll give you twenty minutes before we call him... should give you thirty minutes to have your security team scour the ship and get out before he gets here. You're quite picky, aren't you?"

"Wouldn't you be?" Jordan demanded. "The ship's a spice hauler for kark's sake! No telling where those tempting scents are gonna end up..." She rolled her eyes. "Excuse me, but I'll just go get my team now. Thanks."

She went back to Dash and the others.

"They're just gonna let us in," she whispered, a little surprised. "You're a security team hired by me to examine the ship. Once we're inside, I'll take care of anyone already on board and we'll power up and take off long before the thirty minutes is up."

With that and a gesture to say, 'follow me', she headed back toward the dock. The guards stepped aside to let them in and they began to approach the ship. But that's when everything started to go wrong...

Alarms rang out through the dock and guards began rushing about. Jordan stopped abruptly, almost as if she'd slammed into an invisible wall and been held there.

"Get to the ship!" she yelled. "I'll hold them off until you can get airborne."

Four guards came from four separate directions toward the pirates and with four hand gestures in each of their directions, Jordan sent them flying. "Go to the ship!" she screamed. "I can handle them, but you've got to get the ship up or we'll never survive. I can jump high enough that you won't leave me behind... trust me!"

"C'mon" Dash ran unsteadily to the Dark Angel. He pulled out his Gun and Lightsaber, charging to his chosen ship.

Halfway across, they were greeted by a group of Security Guards, armed and ready to fire. They aimed there weapons at the crew.

Dash (for the very first time) ignited his Lightsaber. A blue beam rushed out of his trophy weapon. Though he didn't know any Jedi Techniques, he just simply thrusted and swung the melee weapon at the guards. Sure enough, he sliced off a limb with the awsome power of the weapon. With a leg cut off, the Guard fell down in pain. Dash aimed his gun at the guard and finished him off.

Bishop pulled out his Repeating Blaster Rifle from his Back Holster and fired at the guards. Enemies instantly fell down at the mighty weapon he carried...we'', probably not all "that" mighty, but had enough firepower to kill a Zaakeg.

Suddenly, he felt somekind of disturbance; like a warning of somekind. He instantly turned around, and saw three guards about to gun down Lulana.

"Look out!" he fired his weapon. Instantly, the three fell down with multiple laser bolt wounds through their chest. Bishop whistled

"Wow, pretty thorough job! Hate to be those guys!"

Lulana glanced at Bishop, and grinned. "Thanks, Bishop! Now... to do my part!" She used the Force to take out her lightsaber. When it got to her hand, she ignited it. The blade was glowing purple. Her favorite color. Lulana began to swing her lightsaber on the security guards, using her best Jedi Techniques.

She looked at Dash, who swung his lightsaber at the other gaurds. Lulana began to laugh. "Ya know, Captain? Maybe when we get outta here, I could teach you on how to use the lightsaber better!"

Analla ran by the ship. "C-C'mon, everyone! We gotta get out of here!"

((Sorry i haven't been on for about a month))

"Set a course for Corellia!" said Rana. His ship, The Black Crystal, had been repaired.

"C- . . . Corellia, Captain? Rana, you know that they don't call it the East Corellia Trading Company for nothing. And you also know that you have a fortune on your head." said the first mate.

Rana frowned. "I've heard that Lord Sakon is going to leave Roon. I have every intention of getting as far away from him as possible, even if it means going to the Core. He is much more of a threat than Dreanear and the company. And, of course, I do NOT intend on seeing the Dead Man's Ship again."

The First Mate nodded. "You seem on edge, Rana, what's wrong?"

"I ran into Bishop a few days ago. As you know, he hasn't forgotten that day we raided his ship and stole his raids from the entire year. I would hve parlayed him, but I would rather jump off a building, and I did. I hear that he's joined forces with Dash Hawkbat. Seems like we'll need to work together, then," he said ominously.

Sakon, escorted by his crew of pirates for extra security, exited his ship on the docking bay of Baroonda. He didn't just come to the tropical planet for gambling on the Podracers, playing Pazaac and all other sorts of pirate activities. He came to Baroonda for a different reason.

According to his datapad, which had recently gathered new information from sources too confidential to speak of, there was a hidden tomb in on of the volcano.

But what was inside the tomb was of great importance to Sakon. He may be immortal, but he didn't possess an Iron Fist over the indipedant Pirates. He wanted more power! And what ever was inside the tomb, was his only ticket to exploit that desire.

He followed the map displayed on the screen. He was to go through the swamp from there, in order to reach the Volcano.

Alas, the crew (temporarily excluding one) made it to the ship that was to be they'res.

Dash walked up the entry ramp, and to his slight shock, was greeted by two thugs.

"Well, wall! Wha' do we have 'ere, I wondarr?" one of the thugs pulled out a blaster rifle.

"Looks to me 'ere, we have Captain Dash Hawkbat. Whom has trespassed on our property---"

Bishop erupted the thug's sentence by firing his Light Repeating Blaster Rifle. He looked over the dead bodies.

"When you're gonna' shoot; shoot! Don't talk!" He ran all the way to the cockpit. He sat on the pilot's seat.

"Oohh... comfy!" he immediatly settled in. "I'll get us outa' here, no prob!"

He fired up the Dark Angel.

Bishop flew the Dark Angel over the collection of ships which stood on the platforms.

He drove the ship near the Access Gate of the Level, where Jordan was fending off the enemy guards.

He lowered the ship, and opened the access ramp for Jordan to jump in.

Jordan 'felt' rather than saw the ship coming and pushed hard with her power in every direction, tossing the guards away, and then used her power to execute a massive leap, which took her directly to the access ramp. She almost lost her balance, but quickly regained it and ran up into the ship. Once she'd found her way into the cockpit, she took Dash's place at the pilot's controls and directed the ship out of the planet's atmosphere.

"Where to now, Cap'n?" she asked.

"Take the Black Crystal in for a landing," said Rana. He had decided to stop and Baroonda for a while to regain fuel from one of the settlements.

The first mate nodded. "Aye, aye, Captain!"

* * *

Rana breath the fresh air of the peaceful planet of Baroonda. IT reminded him of Naboo, with a beautiful Royal City and forests. Though on Baroonda, there were volcanos dotted across the land. Just as he took a few steps forward in the docking bay in the royal city, he blinked.

There was a disturbance in the force.

"Are you allright, Captain?" asked the third mate. Rana gasped once he found the source of the presence. He had learned to sense the force from an old man - though never learned to really use it.

Rana turned to the third mate, a shocked expression on his face. "I . . . I've felt the Dead Man's Ship. It emnates a strong persence of the dark side. He's here! Lord Sakon is here!" Rana thouight for a second, then looked back up, "If he finds out that I, ther owner of the Black Crystal and one of the most notorious independent pirates, are here on Baroonda, he will unleash . . . the Leviathan! Quickly, we need to get back into space! How soon qwill we be able to do so?"

The third mate blinked. "Eh . . . about six hours, sir."

Rana groaned. "Then get to it!"

Lulana sat in her seat, resting. While she took rest, a disturbance in the Force came to her mind. She couldn't figure out what it was... but it was dark and evil. Lulana sat up, gasping. Analla noticed the young woman waking up.

"Hey, you okay?" Analla asked, placing a hand on Lulana's shoulder. Lulana turned to Analla, and smiled nervously. "Y-yeah. I just... had a bad dream." She looked out the window, trying to find out what the disturbance was all about.

"Have you already forgotten, or had you already known we require more crew members?" Dash said, for the first time actually frowning. He put a hand on Bishop's shoulder and gave commands in his drunken-like stance.

"We of coarse need to take this boat to another Pirate Infestation, where we can find and gather more crew members. Savvy?"

"And where do you propose we start?" Bishop shot. "Though its a nice place, we can't go back to Roon. You never know if Reed and his crew of miscrits may be after us... which reminds me; we will have to change the ID signiture of this stolen ship."

Sakon Force Pushed the Ithorian Mechanic against the wall. He walked closer to him, his Lightsaber ignited.

"I will tell you only once more, I need one of your Speeders!" The Weequay demanded in a cold voice. Part of his crew members were behind him, aiming their weapons at the Ithorian.

"I apoligise, Lord Sakon!" the Mechanic spoke in great fear and sadness. "But I can't just lend you a Speeder without the proper Credentials..."

"I am not lending, I am owning!" Sakon spat out. He pinned the poor Ithorian to the wall and raised the blade of his Lightsaber close to the Alien's neck. "I don't want to hear excuses! You will give me a Speeder!".

Sakon needed a Speeder to cross the wetlands and other terrain in order to reach the Tomb's destination. There was no way he was going to walk on Foot, that would take longer!

"P-perhaps I can give my own credentials!" now the Ithorian was getting the attention.

"Yes, perhaps you can! Now do hurry up, before I lose my patience!"

The Ithorian placed his Credentials in the Register Machine. The Doors of the Garage flew open, and revealed a fine selection of Speeders, waiting to be used.

"Thank you!" Sakon smiled pleasingly at the Ithorian. He slashed his Lightsaber across the belly of the Alien. He fell on the floor into two pieces.

"Men! Grab a Speeder and follow me..."

Lulana continued to look outside the view. She narrowed her eyes, thinking about that disturbance she had. Then she turned to Bishop. Something inside him was... hidden. She felt a little bit of the Force in him, when she concenrated her mind on Bishop. Finally, she asked, "Hey Bishop? Do you... believe in the Force?"

"But,sir! The fuel, what about the hyperdrive we stopped here for?" demmanded the second mate, Fredric.

Rana turned to him. "If Sakon catches us, our blood will be his fuel! If he summons the Leviathan, our dead boodies won't have any blood to use as fuel. So I suggest you start workign on gettign this ship into space!" he spat.

Fredric blinked. "But how will he know that you're here?"

Rana looekd out at the port. "He's been . . . trained in ways that he can sense presences. I'm probably the second or third most popular independent pirat captain, and unfortunately next on his hit list. In a few minutes, he'll be able to sense my presence, so we need to-" Rana stopped as he slowly turned to hisright, where an evil presence was coming from. "Oh no. He's close. He's . . he's near that volcano, there," said Rana softly. "QUICKLY! Get all crew members out of the ship, and get weapons. In space, The Black Crystal and his ship are equals, but he'll send the Leviathan after us; on land we might have a chance. HURRY! He's probably already sensed me!"

((Leviathan? What the heck are talking about? Sakon isn't summoning the Leviathon))

Sakon sensed the presense of someone familiar. Not Hawkbat, but someone whom was on his hit list; Rana. He could feel the man's blood pumping a great distance away, like a Vampire Bat.

There was no way he was going to let Rana intefere with his plans! He pushed the Speeder to it's limits to the dark region of the Volcano's. According to his DataPad, the tomb oughta be in the verified Volcano in the proximity of his coordinates. His quest for more power will soon be exploited!

Bishop glanced at Lulana. His heart nearly sank as he heard those words.

"You know how many times I have been asked that?" He always felt uncomfortable when he was told he was Force Sensitive. "I have seen a lot of strange things in my days as a Pirate, but I suppose those could be under the influence of some all powerful, mystical energy. So in answer to your question... yes, I suppose I believe in the Force. Why?"
