Pirates of the Outer Rim

Recommended Posts

A few minutes and a thousand credits richer, Rana madfe out that the man and woman were talking.

"Do you know Dash Hawkbat?"

"I . . . I know little of him. I never met him, but i heard of him," were the only words he was able to make out.

Rana's eyebrows met. She wasn't a pirate.

He turned to the entire den. "EVERYONE! THERE'S A TRAITOR IN OUT MIST!" he roared in the room. Everything was silent. Seconds later, the entire room was in confusion and everyone was shooting at each other.

Rana smiled. He would now have more of a chance to get at the man and woman. He wondered who they were.

Rana stared at the woman who was trying to break free of his grasp.

"Who are you?" he demmanded. "You're not a pirate! People who are here and not pirates usually die."

The girl's eyes widened and Rana laughed. "I'm not going to kill you - unless, you are in league with the East Corellia Trading Company! Now, tell me who you are!"

"She's with me," said a voice. Rana looked up and saw a man walking through the chaos.

Rana's eyes narrowed. "Kane Bishop," he said coldly.

Bishop smiled. "Ah, Mister Macina. Let her go," he demanded.

Rana reluctantly let go of her hand. "Who is she?"

Bishop blinked. "I'm . . . I'm not sure. I know her name, but . . ."

They were interrupted when a grenade landed between them.

"JUMP!" roared Rana, and he was just able to get away in time. He looked around. "Dammit, I lost them!"

(( Hey, Lord Spitfire? Try not to control other players characters. It can get discouraging for others. I learned this when I first came here myself. ;) ))

Lulana followed Kane out of the center. She panicked, trying to hide the tears. "I... I didn't do anything wrong! I'm just new to this, and... and I'm just trying to find a job!"

Now she wasn't sure if she wanted to be a pirate. The fact of not being a pirate, and being killed, was not the best thing for her. Lulana grew frightened.

((Yeah . . . sorry about that, I can get a little overeager at times))

Rana shrugged the thought of the woman and the man off as he turned hsi attention to the fighting.

He laughed. "Sorry, Boys!" he raored as he jumped on the table. He gulped down a bottle Juma Juice, and took out three plasma grenades. 'A pity . . . I spent all night working on them.'

He threw each one by one in three seperate places in the room. There was a deaphening explosion, and about twenty seconds later, the room was a jar of smoke. Rana could make out a few people run out the door. After a while the smoke cleared, and bodies were littered everywhere. Rana grinned.

He walked among the bodies. "Kane Bishop . . . hmf, seems like everybody's in Roon now," he said. He shrugged. The girl was probably BIshop's slave girls . . . but did Bishop have slave girls? Anyways, she was no concern of his.

((S'okay Spitfire! I forgive you. Just don't let it happen again, savvy?))

Bishop pulled out his Blaster Rifle and aimed it at Rana. He turned his head at Lulana.

"Sorry, not a very good first impression. Especially on our first date!" he chuckled. He continued to aim the blaster at Rana.

"What do you want, Rana?" he glared, and set a laser sight target on his head.

Dash walked along the wet metal tiles of the dock. He looked at Anulla and answered her question about the Pirate Lord.

"It has just come to my attention that a young pirate, like yourself, has not heard of Lord Sakon, Pirate Lord of the Outer Rim..."

He sighed and ran a brief summary.

"Lord Sakon is a mangy pirate lord and captain of his legendary ship "The Dragon Spike". He kills those who choose to resist him and choose to become an independant pirate! Of coarse, evidence supports this fact from how he blew my ship up!"

He took a moment, and wondered about any last minute details.

"For more details, I can of coarse tell you he is a Weequay, he is in his Sixties, and commands a legandary ghost ship which is said to bring him, and only himself, immortality."

Analla's eyebrows shot up. "Ooh. Sounds creepy. I'm glad I'm not part of his crew." As she thought about what Dash said, it was like telling her a scary story. If she ever saw Lord Sakon, she'd be scared to death. Then she turned to Jordan.

"I'm glad we're outta Rav's "prison". If I ever see them again, they'll pay big time," she told her best friend.

"What do I want? I want to cause trouble," said Rana with a frown.

Before Bishop could react he looked at the window and leapt out of it.

He found himself falling down the tall building. He quickly grapped a passing speeder. He took a lightsaber and stabbed the owner from the outside. He jumped in and steered the Speeder back to his ship, The Black Crystal.

Bishop ran to the window and managed to see him steal a flying Speeder, which belonged to someone he had just stabbed.

Bishop fired a few rounds from his rifle, which had missed. Rana may have won this round, but this wasn't over between the two!

He turned to Lulana. "Sorry 'bout that! Stuff like that usually happens almost everyday here, but never this intense." He put away his weapon.

"You okay?"

Lulana smiled. "Yeah. Thanks." She came beside Kane. "I just don't get it, though. What's he got against you?" Lulana looked out the window. This Rana guy didn't look like the nice type, and she grew afraid of him, because the way he told her of "not being a pirate and killed."

Suddenly, her lightsaber fell out of her bag. "Oh, no!" Lulana exclaimed. She looked at Kane, with a worried look.

Jordan chuckled. "They've already paid a bit... on my way out, I was ripping out random wires and such in the walls... they'll have a pretty little mess to deal with before they can go anywhere."

A few hours later (Around the time Bishop encountered Rana in the Pazaac Den), Dash and his fellow crew found themselves at the entertainment center. People exited the many clubs, cantinas, illegal gambling casinos in the section of the city. This was the perfect place to gather a crew.

Over in the distance, he saw a familiar face who had just exited a Pazaak den, rifle in hands. He was next to a girl, talking to her. He recognised the long, blonde hair, piercing blue eyes and broad shoulders. Dash's old friend, Kane Bishop!

Dash walked over to him to give him a surprise visit, when all of a sudden he was pulled by the coat. He spun around... one of his old girlfriends. She wasn't happy to see Dash after many years.

"Angie!" he pulled a phony smile. All of a sudden, a hard, quick hand hit his face. As he recieved the slap, he spun around stupidly, facing his companions.

"Not sure I deserved that!" he added. He spun around and continued to walk towards Bishop.

Kane noticed immediatly the long, cylindar-like object was a Lightsaber. He picked it up and handed it to her.

"Huh! Haven't seen these things for a while. You a Jedi?" he wondered. He smiled. "Don't worry, people will love you anyway... even though you are a Jedi--- Dash?"

He saw the man walk in his usual drunken-like posture towards him. Happy to see him, Kane ran over to his father-figure. He shook his hand and gave him a bear-hug.

"How ya doin', you old loser? So good to see you!"

"Ah, mate! It is quite a pleasure to see you again, but please stop!" Dash chuckled. "You'll crinkle my coat! This thing is expensive!"

"How ya doin'? Whats this I hear about your ship getting blown up?"

"An interesting question, but a long story. Because, fortunatly, I do not hold the time to speak of it now, at this current moment!" he looked over at the girl he was standing with. "So whose the girl?"

Dash called Lunala over. He introduced her. "Lulana, this is Dash Hawkbat. Dash Hawkbat, this is Lulana!"

"A fine greeting to you madam! And, it is 'captain', Kaney! Captain Dash Hawkbat!"

"Captain Dash Hawkbat! I heard so much about you." She saw two other woman, and greeted them as well. "Hello. Lulana Mecho." Analla, the young pirate teen, shook hands with Lulana. "Hi there! I'm Analla Danble, and this here's my friend, Jordan Lake."

Analla noticed Kane. She bowed her head, and smiled warmly. "Hello."

"Hey!" Kane greeted back at the young teenager. "Name is Kane, but you can call me Bishop!"

"I think right now, we have had enough warm greetings and introductions." Dash smiled. "Right now, let us get a drink!"

"Well, I have had a few... but one more won't hurt I suppose!"

The group followed Dash to his favorite cantina (not the one with the sleeping pirates caused by the grenade). They all sat at a big, round table.

Bishop sipped on his alcoholic beverage.

"So, Dash! What brings you here to Roon?" Bishop wondered.

Analla answered, "We're trying to find a new crew and a new ship. Jordan and I joined Captain Hawkbat, because we use to work for Rav." She looked down. "We abandoned him, because he and his crew were so mean! They made me do chores, and never let me have my freedom. But Jordan was the only friend I had."

She glanced back up. "I'm glad I have a new captain, and I'll be trustworthy to him, no matter what!" Analla smiled.

Kane smiled back at Analla.

"No doubt; this captain will be the best one of them all!" he chuckled. "But I must ask as to why you are assembling a crew and a ship?" Bishop took a gulp from his drink.

"I am hunting for Sakon! And I'm taking you with me!"

"Sakon? Isn't he the one who destroyed you last ship?" Bishop pondered his memory.

"Indeed, the Pirate Lord himself has done some naughty things to me' boat!" Dash announced. "But nobody, and I mean 'nobody', messes with Captain Dash Hawkbat!"

"Yeah, well... after hearing about what you experienced, what makes you think Sakon won't blow your ship up again? And further more; what makes you think I'll be there when your ship (if you even have one, of coarse) blows up?"

Lulana looked at Kane, and grinned. Then she turned to Dash. "Captain... I'll join your crew as well. I use to be a Jedi, and I'm very skilled in combat. Since the Massacre on Ossus, I've been still practicing my lightsaber skills. I'm kinda gettin' the hang of it."

Analla smiled. She always wanted to meet a Jedi. "Wow. A Jedi! I can't believe it!" Lulana shushed the young pirate. "But I'm trying to keep it on the down low. You may never know if there's any Sith around." She glanced at Kane. "Ya know, Bishop... we all look like we can outsmart the enemy, if we work together. And you look like the skillful type." Lulana smiled.

Bishop considered it. True, he was a skillful lad. This could be a good reason and opportunity to put them to good use.

"...Alright, I'm in!"

Dash walked over to shake the man's hand. "You will bareyl regret this, rest assured!"

"But there is a catch; I'm your First Mate!"

"Easier said than done, mate. However, you and I have seemed to reach an agreement! we have an accord!"

"So... where is your new ship?" Bishop wondered.

Dash considered the question for a moment, then said simply; "I'm working on it, rest assured, mate!"

He looked at Lulana. "And a fine, warm welcome to you too on me' list of crew members, darling!" he smiled.

Jordan had been listening to all the quick conversation running back and forth between those around her with a faint smile of amusement. But once Dash welcomed Lulana into the crew, Jordan leaned forward.

"I think it's already fairly obvious I'm on your crew," she told Dash, "and I believe I've already established myself as your pilot. And as a pilot isn't good for much without a ship, I'll help you find one."

As an afterthought, she added, "Although, keep in mind, I will not keep to the ship in a fight. If and when a fight occurs, you could use all the hands you can get... and I'm hard to beat."

Lulana grinned. "Thank you... Captain Hawkbat." She turned to Kane. "This is gonna be fun." Analla rose up from her seat, and smiled. "Sweet! So it's settled! We can find a ship, kick some bad guy's rear, and have an adventure of our lives!" She looked at Dash.

"Sir? I can look out for enemy's, if you want me to. I'm good at that." Lulana added, "And I'm good at combat. If you need someone to fight with their lightsaber and blaster... she's right here."

"Did I just happen to hear the word "Lightsaber"?" Hawkbat smiled. He unclipped his own Lightsaber from his belt and placed it on the table. "'Cause incase it hase just occured to you this instance, I carry me' own! However, rest assured, I am no Jedi!"

The Lightsaber was a trophy from a Dark Jedi Dash had killed a few months ago. Though he knew little about building them, he customized his Lightsaber to a Blue Beam and added various upgrades.

"Perhaps at a more appropriate time..." he spoke to Lulana. "Maybe you could teach me a few sword tricks!"

"'kay, Dash! Put that away, before somebody see's it!" Kane urged. His former mentor did as he was told. He looked over at Jordan.

"If your going to help Dash find a ship, I suppose I'll tag along too! Afterall, nobody knows the Docks well than I do!"

"Ship must always go first! But another matter we need to deal with is finding more crew members!" Dash pointed out.

"To bed!" Dash answered Analla question. "Good night!" He walked off to the accomidations of the Cantina.

"What he means to say;" Kane glanced over at the crew "Is that we will all meet at the dock tomorrow... early!" He stood up, took one last gulp of his drink.

"I'm hitting the sack, too! G'night!"

Analla looked at the others. "Good night, everyone! I'll go to bed as well, 'cause I haven't had a good night sleep for a while!" She walked out the cantina. Lulana smiled, and shook her head.

"I'll... just be by the lake. I need to meditate before I go to bed." She walked outside, heading for the lake. "Good night, guys."
