Revan Skywalker Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 i just set up the trial on my windows xp and the launchpad is taking like 34 hours or something and barely makes progress. how do i fix this?
Jo Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Well up your download speed...Otherwise nothing. By the sound of it your likely on dial up, which is gonna take that long. Unless you got a buddy who has high speed. Now if you do have high speed, i would say turn off anything that may be using ANY internet activity at all (keep your antivirus up of course) and dont browse the web while your downloading. I would set it to download when your heading off to bed. Otherwise, sit back and relax...read up some on the game if you want and get to know it before you even play it. that can always help
Taos Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Good lord 34 hours!!!?? @.@ If you're on dial up I'd say to not even bother. But anyways, if you do in fact have high speed, I'd follow Jo's advice...i just can't believe 34 hours...wow.
Jo Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 well i can..its not like he got install disks. he is downloading all of the stuff off the net.. And i doubt the client is just installing the basics needed, its probably putting every file related the game. with sony they are probably hoping our friend here gets hooked and just buys it off the net, that way he has all of the files already.
Revan Skywalker Posted September 3, 2007 Author Posted September 3, 2007 see, i got the disks. the original disks when divided first came out. i didnt know installing them would make this faster. would it? cause the launchpad keeps installing things like data texture 01. and by the way, now its 24 hours. and also, the files take forever to install.
Saber-Scorpion Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 that has happened to me to on time it was up in 90 hours but then i restarted it and it did take i should say about 20-22 hours and then i turned of every internet thing and it was down to 16 hours so i started playing next day

Rogue15 Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 yeah install using the disks, it will still take a while. 2 years ago it took me about a week and i was using aol. It's worth it to go out and buy complete adventures. IMHO. (i play the game about every day for about 2-4 hours at a time...somedays longer than that)
