Guinness is ok for a stout but there are so many better ones out there. For those that say that American is crap. I would highly disagree. I agree that most of the national macro-brews are crap. The only exception is Sam Adams which is merely ok in my opinion. There are plenty of local/regional micro-brews and macro-brews that are excellent. If you want to learn about good beers and the different styles they come in. I would highly recommend you check out http://beeradvocate.com/ or http://www.ratebeer.com/.
