Sabretooth
Wierd, I haven't heard of a single one of those myths, apart from the E.T. one, which I know to be true.
Arátoeldar
The only one I knew about was the Atari problem.
Corinthian
That's a pretty poor list of myths, considering half of them are actually true. They aren't myths if they're true!
Rev7
Good point there. I thought that the Saddam H. one was pretty funny. As for all of the others, I have never heard of them. :\
Negative Sun
I didn't know about the Sony/Nintendo one, but I had heard of the other ones...They could have made a better list I believe.
Serpentine Cougar
I already knew the Sony/Nintendo one and the one about the Korean gamer who died, but the other ones were funny, even if half of them were true. But how can they be gaming urban legends if nobody's heard of them?
Hallucination
I actually knew all of them except the first one, so they qualify as legends.
Titanius Anglesmith
Three years prior in October of 2002, a 24 year-old South Korean man passed away from exhaustion following a stunning 86-hour marathon. It doesn't have to take that long for exhaustion to become fatal: only ten days later, a 27 year-old Taiwanese gamer died at another cybercafe after a mere 32-hour session. And as recently as September of 2007, a 30 year-old man fainted at a cybercafe in southern China after playing games for three straight days. Clearly, these cafes could use some sort of systematic power outage plan to help keep the patrons alive. Ok, so video games can be fun and all, but some people... I mean, seriously...
