Ahoy people !

I just had a fun afternoon of recording of a tutorial on how to model a simple room and get it in K1.

Its quite lengthy, first part takes an 1h 14min, about 1.4 Gigs big.

The other 2 parts I recored are smaller, but don't worry I'm now into editing them in smaller chuncks, so they can on the channel.

I'm sure you Brits and Americans will have a good laugh with my awfull english accent (My first language is Dutch).

And I hope I don't mumble to much, talking and modelling on the go... eh.. gives craptacular results to my english.

So apolagies up front for any weirdness and fague words.

Be patient and in a day or 2 you might have a new tutorial to look at.

EDIT: Ow, yeah, if I get enough "votes" from you broadband users, I might upload the movies to a file-server aswell, these will have a better quality then those on the YouTube channel.

Oooh! Very exciting! I'm glad to see this - can't wait until it comes up.

I'm sure it's not that bad :D

Consider this my vote ;)

Well, I'm actually going to upload those larger portions first.

I've been working on it and cutted my first recording in to two.

And their both about 40 mins in lenght.

THat means about 8 parts just for that.(Youtube only offers 10mins max)

To make things "worse", I got 2 other recording of about 30 mins each.

thats another 6 parts.

For a totall of 14 parts .

Unless you folks can advice me a better freeware video editing program, then this craptastic WindowsMovie maker I'm using at the moment.

It might speed things up.

I'm sure it's not that bad :D

Its actually weird to hear myself talk, I just hope my Grammer, sentence building isn't to awfull, saddly a mans brain can't handle 3 task at one time.

Modelling, talking about what your doing, whilst translating that on the same time. It leaves from some weird pauses and "euhs" in the track

And when I say "weee", I'm talking about the W.

Its really bad in the part about the UVW-mapping xD

Consider this my vote ;)

Like I said above, expect the bigger chuncks at better quality first, they don't need that much work, just some ruff cutting and rendering.

My first part are now about 50 MB in size, not bad.

Probably not that uncommon a feeling. We all sound different to ourselves when we hear it on a recording.

Just watched the end of Part 13.

It was AWESOME!

It'll definitely help some of the newer modders get into area modelling.

You made it seem really easy! ;)

Well done Q. :D

Couldn't help but notice you having to supress a snigger when you said DarthDingDong though. :p

I couldn't stop laughing at "man box" for some reason.

Are you going to be uploading it to Youtube? Uploading them here is probably better, but I'm just curious. And would you consider packaging the whole thing up into one big video and reuploading it?

Oh and another quick question: Can anyone make a tutorial and upload it? Since I'm recently coming into some time (and some bandwidth), I was thinking of making a "how to spawn an NPC" tutorial, or something extremely basic like that.

YouTube has 10 minute limits on its videos, which is kinda annoying, so I was thinking we could close the channel, and maybe build a small website with the video's on?

Just and idea...

Anyway, here's a video on texturing:

No laughing at my accent. :p

Yes laughing at your accent. :p

There's nothing to laugh at, it's fine. ;)

A new website would be good. Particularly because Windows Movie Make takes too long in slicing videos up.

Believe it or not, I"ve recorded a new tutorial thingy, this about modelling a Lightsaber hilt.

The modelling, Unwrapping the UVW, texturing it and getting it in the game is all covered.

Here are the first set of 5 parts:

PART1

PART2

PART3

PART4

PART5

Saddly my Microphone had some hick-ups, there are certain squicks and other noises in the background. Not all the time, else I wouldn't have posted it here. Just so you know, that the quality isn't as it was for my previous vids.

Enjoy, there's still a lot of part coming behind.
