I think it would be cool if when you find that HK-51 on Telos and it blows up you could get different items from it.

For example:

some cool blaster

some cool blaster rifle

and something called HK-51 plates(that make HK-47 look like HK-51)

and anything else anyone can think of.

Actually, that's pretty good!

 

Or you could have him not blow up, and join your party. When you re-activate HK-47, he kills 51, and then you get the stuff!

Alright, if you specify exactly what "cool blasters" you want in the HK-51's inventory, then I can give the file to stick in your override. That will put it in his inventory and allow you to find them on his corpse.

 

As for the "HK-51 plates", the easiest way to do this would be to change HL-47's .utc file to the appearance of HK-51. But I can't think of an easy way to make the transition. He'll either always look how he is or always look like an HK-51, unless someone has another way of doing it...

 

But I can whip this up for you right now, if you tell me what blasters you want in his inventory.

Do what Ender Wiggin said if you can but if not I would prefer never.

Also With the blasters just give him something that maybe you have already modded if you have done any blasters, if not give him some rare blasters or you could even make some if you had the time and wanted to.

But Holmes! Are you suggesting that you can change an NPC's appearance using scripts?

 

EDIT: Oh, yeah, you can. For anyone that's interested:

what about the Assassin's rifle? thats pretty rare without cheats

 

Okay, so let's recap:

 

I'll take one of the HK-51's you encounter on the surface of Telos (where you normally encounter them above the academy) and put three new items in his inventory; the Assassins Rife, some HK-51 plates (non-equipable, I'll just add a new dialog node to HK-47's dialog that allows you to install the plates, and another that allows you to remove them), and another random item (any suggestions?).

 

Anything else?

Couldn't you just make the plates an equipable item with a disguise property? That would be a lot easier.

I was thinking about that. The only thing I was concerned about was taking up a equipment slot with the plates. But that would be much easier. Should it have any attributes?

Okay, well, I've almost done it. I've made the plates, and they work fine. One quick problem; I'm going to assume you meant HK-50 for your post, because having an HK-50 droid drop HK-51 plates doesn't make any sense.

Well, this is a little bit later than I originally anticipated, but some retardation on my part (and slightly on the game's part for refusing to allow me to search a corpse) forced me to use a workaround, which took quite a long time.
