In the chronology of the galaxy, very few records--very few stories--exist about the Dark Times and the birth of the Empire. Nineteen years before the Battle of Yavin, Emperor Palpatine's new Order has taken root and is thriving. The most visible expression of it has become the military. New clone hosts and clone facilities are swelling the ranks of the Stormtrooper Corps, as is the forced conscription of young humans from occupied planets like Coruscant.

 

This is the story--the history--of the galaxy's darkest hour...

 

Rules:

 

1. No Jedi. They are all either dead or in exile, save a very few survivors.

2. Force Sensitives, however, are permitted since the Empire covets them!

3. Alien characters are allowed, though they are marginalized or worse

because one of the Empire's founding principles is "Human High Culture."

4. Sith are also permitted, though I would appreciate it if most of them were

those of the non-lightsaber-wielding variety (officers and lesser workers.)

5. This is a "Roleplayfic," meaning include descriptions of characters/dialogue.

This is essentially about how the Empire first begins to tighten its hold on the galaxy, how the "common folk" react, and especially how the conscripted and cloned deal with their dire situation of either being born to serve, or forced to serve, the Empire. I'm hoping that the new "conscriptees" will get sent on a mission to hunt down loyalists to the Old Republic, which at this time still exist. Sound good? Plans for something called the "Death Star" are in the works as well, and if anyone falls out of line, they'll get sent to construct it...muahahahahhahaha!

Awarded many times for his bravery and leadership skill, Yal's most commendable achievement was beating 1000 pirates in a sector with just 50 imperial troops. Chosen by Palpatine himself, Yal has command of most if not all Imperial troops. Rumor has it that he was a former Sith Lord, and Palpatine chose him because of his force sensitivity, not because of leadership skill. But those are merely rumors, and maybe Yal has a different story to tell....

Tala Eltare was born on Naboo a few years before the Trade Fedaration invaded. Her parents and two older brothers were killed in the camps shortly before the Battle of Naboo. After that, her education was financed by the government. However, Tala didn't respond well to any authority, especially her teachers at her boarding school. The other students found her reclusive, moody, and completely anti-social. Her grades were far from spectacular, except in computer class. Some of her teachers suspected that she was a computer slicer, but they had no proof. Just after Tala turned fifteen, she illegally bought a blaster and taught herself how to use it, going to the swamps each day to practice. After several months of practice, she could hit a flying swamp bat while in a headlong run herself. Unfortunately, one of her fellow students became suspicious of her daily excursions and followed her out to the swamps one day. He reported the fact that she owned a blaster to one of the teachers, and Tala was taken into custody. She was confined to her room until the heads of the school board could decide what to do with her. That night, she escaped, injuring a guard and wrecking the school computers in the process. She managed to smuggle herself off-planet and supported herself with her computer slicing skills, but eventually she acquired another blaster and became a bounty hunter. Since she left Naboo, she's learned how to use vibroblades effectively, and she rarely loses a quarry. After the Empire took over, she started hunting people down for them, and she's become a favorite of the Imperial Security Department...

Krade is one of the best ARC troopers of the Empire. Having been the reason for victories in several major skirmishes, he was awarded many times for his bravery. A close friend to the Emperor himself, he, unlike most other ARC troopers, enjoys the luxury of having no higher commander than the Admirals, Executor and the Emperor. Despite this, Krade still has a friendly attitude, and is willing to help most people.
