You are not actually pushing particles of space, as there aren't any, you are pushing the particles supplied by the craft/rocket/booster in the form of an explosion. People always say "How can their be an explosion in space?" Well, they obviously don't understand that oxygen is being provided by the engines in order to combust. Kyle Katarn was the mercernary/amateur Jedi who stole the Death Star plans for the Rebel Alliance. He also put an end to the Dark Trooper project, ended an attempt to resurrect the Empire by a band of dark Jedi, and trained with Mara Jade briefly before falling to the Dark Side on Dromund Kaas. Then....well you'll have to buy the soon-to-be-released game Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast to find out what happens to Kyle next What exactly did Dash Rendar do?
