Canderis Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Well this mod basically replaces the dull combat suit with a new skin and model. It is designed to make the armor look like it could be used in combat. What do you guys think of it? EDIT: here's a pic of it with a head on.
SW01 Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Looks much more military-esque - I like it, personally. And I too hated the basic combat suit - 'twas pathetic A great looking replacement Canderis.
Canderis Posted March 14, 2009 Author Posted March 14, 2009 Does anyone know the model name for the normal CB suit? I plan on replacing this the simple way.
Ferc Kast Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Does anyone know the model name for the normal CB suit? I plan on replacing this the simple way. Yeah; It's the same model as the other light armor. (PMBCM/PFBCM) A simpler way would be to change the uti's baseitem.
Canderis Posted March 14, 2009 Author Posted March 14, 2009 UPDATE: Well I got it into game now im going to tweak the texture a bit and I think it will be ready for release.
HK-42 Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Nice Canderis! But dont you think there should be a option of more "real" camo?
Canderis Posted March 15, 2009 Author Posted March 15, 2009 Nice Canderis! But dont you think there should be a option of more "real" camo? Eh, wa? What do you mean "Real Camo"? FYI the release thread is HERE

Yatsookey Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 would you even need REAL camo i mean the only planet in K2 that that would make sense with is duxn but seriously the camo blends in with that enough already great job canderis
ForeverNight Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Maybe Urban Assault Camo, like a variation on greys... I dunno...
Canderis Posted March 17, 2009 Author Posted March 17, 2009 Update: Well I've been working on v2 and heres what I have so far.
Darth Payne Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Wow, i think i just saw my new favorite armor.
Canderis Posted April 6, 2009 Author Posted April 6, 2009 Well guys, I got more pictures of v2. I think a new release is almost ready
Darth Payne Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Wow, very nice. Are both versions going to be in v2?
Canderis Posted April 6, 2009 Author Posted April 6, 2009 I will include them both but I won't leave the one in the first v2 pic (i assume that is the one you meant) as a default in the patcher. I will also add more utc's with desert camo and urban camo too.
Canderis Posted April 7, 2009 Author Posted April 7, 2009 I tried and failed to make the other camos so for now the 2.0 release will only contain the combat suit. If anyone is so desperate for the texture for this, PM me and I will send you the completed texture. It will not have a new icon, it will use the one from the last release.
redrob41 Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 I actually prefer the lighter grey harness & shoulders (fisrt pic) more than the black (third pic). The extra brown camo around the ribcage (third) is really good tho. Its a tough decision, since all three look good, but for different reasons. I think that the grey harness provides some separation between clothing elements so they're easier to distinguish, but the black provides more camoflage and pattern breakup. The first one looks more stylish, the third more practical. Just my two cents
Canderis Posted April 10, 2009 Author Posted April 10, 2009 I actually prefer the lighter grey harness & shoulders (fisrt pic) more than the black (third pic). I do to. I was trying to re-create that in the new texture as the original looked much lighter in game.
Canderis Posted April 17, 2009 Author Posted April 17, 2009 Update: I've been focusing in detailing. Not too much different, but a few things have been fixed. EDIT: I updated the texture again, much more camo, it looks really real I think.
redrob41 Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 the camo is really looking good now. The pattern really hides the shape of the person, but I bet if I see it up close in the game, there is still plenty of detail. It reminds me of the G.I.Joe figure named Hit & Run.
Canderis Posted April 18, 2009 Author Posted April 18, 2009 Yep, there is a lot of detail, when it is available, take a look at the texture. There is camo on the pants if ya look closely.
Canderis Posted May 23, 2009 Author Posted May 23, 2009 UPDATE: Ive been working on a v3, merging my favorite things in v1 and v2, and changing a few things around. I removed the camo on the pants and the arms and I also brought back the metal torso. WARNING: the screenshot is BIG Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) Anything holowan thinks I should change?
Watcher07 Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 UPDATE: Ive been working on a v3, merging my favorite things in v1 and v2, and changing a few things around. I removed the camo on the pants and the arms and I also brought back the metal torso. WARNING: the screenshot is BIG Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) Anything holowan thinks I should change? Any possibility of an urban camo version? Btw, this looks amazing, it really does. The only reason I suggest urban camo is (and its been quite some time since I ran through TSL) because about 1/3 of the game is in a jungle or green environment (such as Dxun, Telos, and the not so lush Dant) and about 2/3 take place is a more urban/technological environment (Ravager, Onderon, Citadel Station, Peragus, etc.). Having two versions as unique items would be fun though, and add a little to the RP element. Again though, fantastic work and even if you didn't change a thing, its excellent and well worth a spot in the override.
