TSL:Combat Suit Replacement

Canderis

Well this mod basically replaces the dull combat suit with a new skin and model. It is designed to make the armor look like it could be used in combat.

What do you guys think of it?

EDIT: here's a pic of it with a head on.

Looks much more military-esque - I like it, personally. And I too hated the basic combat suit - 'twas pathetic :xp: A great looking replacement Canderis.

Does anyone know the model name for the normal CB suit? I plan on replacing this the simple way.

Yeah; It's the same model as the other light armor. (PMBCM/PFBCM) A simpler way would be to change the uti's baseitem.

would you even need REAL camo i mean the only planet in K2 that that would make sense with is duxn but seriously the camo blends in with that enough already great job canderis

I will include them both but I won't leave the one in the first v2 pic (i assume that is the one you meant) as a default in the patcher. I will also add more utc's with desert camo and urban camo too.

I tried and failed to make the other camos so for now the 2.0 release will only contain the combat suit.

If anyone is so desperate for the texture for this, PM me and I will send you the completed texture. It will not have a new icon, it will use the one from the last release.

I actually prefer the lighter grey harness & shoulders (fisrt pic) more than the black (third pic). The extra brown camo around the ribcage (third) is really good tho. Its a tough decision, since all three look good, but for different reasons. I think that the grey harness provides some separation between clothing elements so they're easier to distinguish, but the black provides more camoflage and pattern breakup. The first one looks more stylish, the third more practical.

Just my two cents :)

I do to. I was trying to re-create that in the new texture as the original looked much lighter in game.

Update: I've been focusing in detailing. Not too much different, but a few things have been fixed.

EDIT: I updated the texture again, much more camo, it looks really real I think.

the camo is really looking good now. The pattern really hides the shape of the person, but I bet if I see it up close in the game, there is still plenty of detail.

It reminds me of the G.I.Joe figure named Hit & Run.

UPDATE: Ive been working on a v3, merging my favorite things in v1 and v2, and changing a few things around. I removed the camo on the pants and the arms and I also brought back the metal torso.

Any possibility of an urban camo version? Btw, this looks amazing, it really does. The only reason I suggest urban camo is (and its been quite some time since I ran through TSL) because about 1/3 of the game is in a jungle or green environment (such as Dxun, Telos, and the not so lush Dant) and about 2/3 take place is a more urban/technological environment (Ravager, Onderon, Citadel Station, Peragus, etc.). Having two versions as unique items would be fun though, and add a little to the RP element.

Again though, fantastic work and even if you didn't change a thing, its excellent and well worth a spot in the override.
