ATMachine Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Breaking news here. So apparently they're claiming they still have a valid contract to publish the game after they dumped it from their schedule? I was never planning to play Brutal Legend, but damn it sucks to have more bad stuff happen to Tim Schafer's games. ETA: Should probably mention that this news comes courtesy of SurplusGamer on IRC.
urluckyday Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 *gulp* Hope this story is blown up otherwise we could see some delays.
ThunderPeel2001 Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 It's good press either way! (Better to have two publishers fighting over you than none!)
urluckyday Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 ^lol yeah that's true...they must really think it's a good game to care about it this much.
Scapetti Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Why didn't Schafer just go to LucasArts to publish the game, he must still have friends there that could make it happen. Should have known it wouldn't go smoothly with EA, they just invite those lawsuits in :/ If it was any other company I don't think Activision would have minded. Let's just hope EA will pay up with their money powerhouse ¬_¬
neon_git Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Cünts. Also, good christ, another forum member from Aber? There's an unreasonable number of us from there.
Scapetti Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Ahh what really? Anyone go to Aberystwyth University? That's where I am (was), just finished my first year and am now back in Essex in England for the Summer.
neon_git Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Both myself and Gabez went there, although we've both graduated and moved on. You wouldn't expect that much overlap for a community as small as Mojo and a town as small as Aber. Good luck with your studies chap.
urluckyday Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 From Gamespot... Double Fine president Tim Schafer passed the following comment on to GameSpot: "Hey, if Activision liked it, then they should have put a ring on it. Oh great, now Beyonce is going to sue me too." Classic Schafer...
Scapetti Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Ahh yes, I remember reading about Aberystwyth get togethers on the site ages ago. Actually I have been looking at these sites for a very very long time but don't tend to show my face. Just a guy who likes to see what other fans are up to I did send like one thing in I noticed to scummbar.com in like 2004 but that's about it. And I think I was even on the chatrooms a couple of times before I was even a teenager XD Edit: Oh and sorry for not staying on topic, no one here minds right? D:
urluckyday Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 ^Dude I totally want you banned for getting off topic!

Murray-Mint Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 You Aber people.... The only Aber worth writing about is Abertawe! /me flees
Gabez Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 I love how there's two separate conversations going on, overlapping each other, like the notes of an immense symphony. It's cool that there's another Aberystwyth person here! We should set up a Facebook groups "I went to Aberystwyth University and visit Mixnmojo.com and all I got was this stupid Facebook group which makes me feel worthless and depressed." On topic: this is clearly insane, but I don't think that Activision have much of a case. Then again, I'm no lawyer. :~
Scapetti Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 This has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with with EA. I don't know man... I still don't trust them XD they are still an evil corporation in my mind and they DO attract those lawsuits, you gotta give me that?
ThunderPeel2001 Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Move over EA, there's a new assh*le on the map: Blizzard-Activision! Also, LucasArts have been BAAAAD for a long time now, it's only this past week (or so) that they've shown better colours!
