Ghost Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Probably one of my few favorite racing games of the old days. Anyone ever play it. It may seem cheesy because of the graphics, but I think it is pretty good and original. The locations were good, and the graphics at its time would have been killer. Wish there was an addon to it for improved graphics, new stuff, everything. Then again, might as well do a whole 'nother game
Sabretooth Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 The graphics weren't quite 'killer' for its time, but it definitely was a great game and is probably the most underrated Star Wars game around. Unfortunate that it won't ever get the sales or the popularity for a sequel (not everyone thinks racing when they think Star Wars). But yes, I loved the visceral speed and the racing locations, it was a thrilling game alright.
Ghost Posted February 3, 2010 Author Posted February 3, 2010 okay, the graphics weren't killer, but they were good for its period. Most racing games i saw in 99 had graphics that were average or sucked
Samuel Dravis Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 I really enjoyed Podracer. I played it a huge amount when I first got it. My pod was so pimped out. Sometimes I spent longer boosting than flying normally.
Ghost Posted February 3, 2010 Author Posted February 3, 2010 you get to customize your pod? Or is that just engine addons? Because I never saw any appearance changes
Taak Farst Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 anyone played the arcade pod racer? its cool!!
Ghost Posted February 3, 2010 Author Posted February 3, 2010 hmm yeah that 1 was good, but I still like the home system better
Salzella Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 I loved that game, and the sequel on the ps2 aswell though not to the same extent. i was ****-hot with neva kee, but i also liked sebulba and that thin weasel guy with the yellow podracer, the name escapes me. also, the concept art images of all the different planets have stayed with me for a long time. they seem romantic and exotic to me. to wit:
Prime Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 It was definitely a game that had a lot of potential. I'd love to see a similar game that modernized it and allowed a lot of customization.
Ghost Posted February 4, 2010 Author Posted February 4, 2010 yea that would be good, but LA won't recognize it as a good game because it may not make them profits
