I'm currently working on a minor modification for KotOR :

Description:

------------

There will be a new custom belt added to the game, which will give the player immortality, and it will have these properties:

Vitality Points +5

Immunity : Death

It will be in a new area on Dantooine. At the academy courtyard, you'll find a man named "Rey", who'll have this dialog:

Rey: Hello there. What would you like ?

PC: Is there anything you could tell me about these plains ?

Rey: Sure. There are some caves, a lot of kath hounds, and a couple of rich families in the plains, I think. But, there is also a rancor cave in the depths.

PC: Rancor cave ?

Rey: Yes. The rancor was killed about a hundred years ago. A Jedi Master named Illuvatar killed the beast. The legend has it that, the moment before the beast died, he grabbed Illuvatar from the belt he was wearing. In order to save himself, Illuvatar released the belt, and the rancor ate it...

It is said that the belt could keep a man to life, even with all the injuries and the time, he'd still be alive...

PC: Can you get me to that cave ?

Rey: Sure sure. Just follow me.

{There he takes you to a cave where you find the belt. Then you talk to Rey again and tell him to take you back}

I've already done the belt. Now all I have to do is the module, the dialog and the scripts.

PS: I still haven't thought about prerequests for the Player to use it. Please give me some ideas.

FEEDBACK PLEASE.

It might also be an idea to add a strong healing factor to the belt.

It might make more people want to use it if it has FP/VP Regeneration.

Why does regaining VP matter if you can't die? If the health can't go below a certain point, why is it necessary to regain health? You can be undying just as well with your health at min 1vp.

I really don't want to be hypercritical since we ARE supposed to be supportive and provide constructive criticism, but frankly an immortality belt is just a bad idea period. The game is easy enough, why create another overpowered item to make it easier? It'd only be tempting in some of the later levels of Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon's Revenge, and even then it'd be just plain right irritating.

You might as well use InstaKill Pistols.

If you're going to make it invulnerable, perhaps you should choose qualities that limit it's utility as well (ie: class limitations; increased vulnerability; decreased deflection; etc...you get the idea). Or perhaps make it so that you can't get it too early in the game.

Ok people. The belt will have many prerequests along with level limitations, while wearing it you won't be able to cast force powers, and other. Its only good will be invulnerability.

I shall also try to make it a bit different:

Once PC reaches lower than 5vitalitypoints, the belt will instantly boost the health back to full. BUT, that will only happen for about 6 times, before the belt has to be recharged, by talking to a man called "Recharger", who will be on Yavin's gass station.

You shouldn't change your mod due to other people saying it's a bad idea. It's your mod.... not theirs. You can do whatever you want with it... I think they're just saying that if you released it as an immunity to death, that they wouldn't use it. But like Payne said, 'God' items aren't for everyone... they're useful if you run into a glitch, however.

You're right. And therefore, I won't listen to you either. I just thought that what they said was right. Anyway, thanks for the advice.

Level 21. Then it will be really hard to get. lol:D

That doesn't sound like a bad idea!!! :D hehe!
