"If we had sided openly with you, we'd have been executed on the spot, and you'd have had noone to help you take over this ship."

Beroc smiled and slapped his security officer lightly on the back. "I must admit, you really did have me fooled. Now...enough of this. I believe that we have two options: We can try to storm the bridge, or we can reroute the command functions to the auxillary bridge."

He turned to face his security officer. "What would you recomend?"

Ackbar

The cheif medical officer ran out into the hallway to meet with Komad, she stopped just in time to see him run down the hall.

"Admiral Belina is in critical condition. Right now she has third degree burns over most of her chest and she has a severe concussion. She was knocked out when the console exploded and we think one of her arms was broken when she fell. We also think one of her lungs was punctured."

The medical officer began running beside him. "Right now even with you help I would guess she only has a forty percent chance of survival."

Alriana closed her mouth and continued watching for enemy fighters. But something felt wrong. As she tried to reach out through the force she couldn't help but think that something was waiting for them on the planet.

Andorra Evenstar steeled herself, flexed her shoulders, and ignited her now-heated Chetyrnadtsat' blade. "I'm ready," she said coldly, in almost a whisper. "No matter what may come...bloodshed, wounds, or death...I'll be prepared." She closed her eyes and brought the blade as close to her body as she dared while exiting the ship and venturing out onto the surface of Geonosis.

"Then I suggest we split into teams: one to locate at the very least, a sample of the virus for study and reverse-engineering, and one to eliminate the threat to the local population. The base is likely infested with victims of the virus along with the virus itself in its gaseous state." Kalla pointed. "For obvious reasons, I recommend Dr. Pradhes for the first team."

Ackbar

"I'll do what I can, but you need to get this ship to the nearest Republic base as soon as possible." Komad replied, entering the medbay. He immediately began focusing all of his energy into healing Belina. Even then, he didn't know how long she'd last, or how long he'd last before passing out.

"Once we've cleared the quarantine, which honestly they had every reason for, we take out the guards, use their uniforms as a disguise and take auxiliary control. Once we eliminate Captain Thek, the rest of the crew shouldn't be a problem." The security officer explained.

A bunch of rocks tumbled from the nearby cliff and Tavaryn appeared. Without preamble, he leapt down, leaping from boulder to boulder until he was on the ground with everyone else. "Hello there," he said.

Jun-la replied, "Anything to report?"

"Nothing in terms of lifesigns in this part," Tavaryn replied, "Still it could be that they are in the caverns and those can extend for miles."

"Agreed. We plan to split into teams of two. No one goes alone and contact only on emergencey channels. Kalla suggested that we should obtain a sample for study, however our primary mission is to secure the base and destroy any threat." Jun-la was explaining to Tavaryn but also to the rest of the group. She looked at Dr. Pradhes and said, "Doctor, I am assigning Andorra to go with you. Check out the main scientce labs. If you can obtain a sample of this virus then get it.

"Kalla, you and Tonatius are to infiltrate the local populace. Find sources for the gases to leak through and seal them up as best as you can. Tavaryn and I will lead our teams to look for the enemy base and prepare to secure. If anyone gets into any trouble, use emergency channel 3. Got it?"

Tavaryn nodded. "I'll head out now towards the west side. You go east towards main point." He then motioned for Haruka and Alriana to follow him. He said to Alriana, "Just keep your senses open." It was his way of reassuring her.

Meanwhile Tonatius turned to Kalla, his cousin and Dr. Pradhes and said, "We can head in the same direction and then split. You have a map ready Kalla?"

"Yeah, I've got it right here." Kalla replied, activating the holodisplay on her datapad. "As you can see, the nearest settlement is about 2 kilometres away, but they've connected through a series of tunnels. This is the most likely way for the vivinecrosis gas and those already infected to spread. I'd say the best solution is to cave in those tunnels leading to the New Imperial base. The trouble is, there's no clear indication of how far it's spread so far."

"I'll do what I can, but you need to get this ship to the nearest Republic base as soon as possible."

The medical officer nodded and then opened up a comn channel to the bridge. "Master Komad told me that if we have any hope of keeping the Admiral alive we need to get to the nearest republic base as soon as possible."

On the bridge, Garja nodded. He turned to the first officer. "Pass command of the fleet to Captain Hasar of the Star destroyer Peacekeeper. Inform him that he is to blockade the planet and to warn away any ships that approach the planet of the virus. There are still a few Imperial ships in orbit on the other side of the planet. Do not engage them unless they attack first."

He turned to the helm officer. "Set course for the nearest republic base."

The Ackbar vanished into hyperpsace as the rest of the Republic fleet took up blockade positions among the planet.

Beroc nodded and grabbed a blaster rifle from the escape pod and nodded at the others. "It is a good plan. Lets just hope that that blasted sith didn't install a similar trap on the Glory that he used on the Imperial Pride.

Geonosis

Alriana nodded at Tavaryn. To be honest she did feel a bit nervous about this current mission. She knew it was highly unlikely that the natives would remember her from nearly a hundred years ago but she still didn't want to take any chances.

"Well it is a gas and gases can spread pretty far depending on the density," Tonatius replied. "As you said we can't be sure of how much of the area is affected. Logically we should collapse the tunnels but I want to know if their is any way to know if there is a way to get a sample. Dr. Pradhes?"

Meanwhile Tavaryn was making his way westward with his team. They hadn't countered any resitance yet and that could be considered a good thing. Yet in Tavaryn's experience it could also be a bad thing. He paused to make contact with Alriana and tapped his temple indicating that she should check through the Force for any lifeforms.

((For those of you who weren't aware, Shana's having internet connectivity issues and I'm taking over for her until she can get that straightened out. If you did know, then fantastic! Well, I guess I'm just gonna dive in here, then.))

Lenatha nodded slowly. "Getting a sample won't be a problem," she said. "I would prefer however if the sample we get doesn't cost us by one of us becoming infected. I'm sure you'd all agree."

Geonosis

"Of course. Would you be able to determine the composition of the gas, relating specifically to its combustibility? I think I have an idea on how we might be able to eliminate the threat." Kalla replied, still thinking trying to figure out the best way to deal with the gas.

RSS Ackbar

Komad had to stop. He was exhausted, and on the edge of passing out, but at least he did what he had to. "She still needs surgery, but she's in no danger of dying now." He explained, breathing heavily. "Don't worry about me, I just need to rest." And with that, he fell to the floor, unconscious, but otherwise alright.

Lenatha nodded. "Without knowing what that gas is, we really can't determine if it's flammable at all. And even if it is, I'm not terribly familiar with how certain elements look when they explode." She frowned thoughtfully. "Although the residue an explosion would leave behind... that, I think I could test to find the composition. But again, setting off an explosion is a bit risky..."

She glanced around them and shrugged. "A droid could get us a sample easily enough, and then we could determine the effect an explosion would have, or if there's a better way to get rid of it."

"You're right, setting off an explosion is a bad idea, but I think if we know what the composition is, we might be able to figure out how to neutralise it." Kalla then suggested, giving her plan a bit more thought. "Based on what we know about the skirmish here two weeks ago, it's possible that the computers in the lab might not have been erased. That would likely contain the total mass of gas left, along with how it's set up."

"Don't worry about me, I just need to rest."

The medical officer watched in alarm as Komad hit the floor and then quickly motioned two solders who were walking by to lift him up onto one of the medical bay beds.

She took a look at Komad's vitals and sighed in relief when she found out his collapse was due to exhaustion and not some sort of internal damage.

Geonosis

Alriana nodded at Tavaryn and slowly reached out with the force to try and detect anything that might be watching them or heading toward them. Even as she reached out she could tell that they were being watched by some of the native Geonosians. She couldn't sense their intentions so she put a hand down by her lightsaber.

"Hey why not use R4?" Tonatius replied, "He would be familiar with the territory since he did belong to Lady Jun-la's grandmother and she was here during the start of the Clone Wars. He might have a chart of the tunnels too."

**********

Haruka saw Alriana put her hand to her lightsaber and made a move to touch his blaster. He had never been to this place before and felt very vulnerable. He shadowed Alriana's moves while watching Tavaryn.

Tavaryn knew they were being watched. He wanted to know by whom. He paused to look at Alriana and said, "Plenty of rocks." It meant that he wanted her to hide and find out who exactly was following them.

"Plenty of rocks."

Alriana slowly nodded in understanding. She was starting to have second thoughts that it was the native Geonosians that were watching them. Something felt...off. It could be that she hadn't visited the planet in over a hundred years but it didn't feel right.

"Excuse me for a moment. I need to check something out."

She quickly snuck away from the group and hid in the shadow of one of the large rock formations, waiting for whoever it was that was watching them to show themselves.

R4 had lived his life through the Clone Wars, the Remnant and the Sith resurrection not just because he had been semi ordered by his mistress but by the care that her children had for him. He had helped when he could and he was going to do so no. He warbled a greeting from outside the Ebon Hawk where he had been scanning and making minor repairs. He beeped out his inquiry.

Meanwhile Tonatius surveyed the cave they were waiting to enter. It would seem like a lot of trouble to gas tunnels but it was very effective if you wanted to prevent something from being seen. He looked at Pradhes and his cousin, happy to see that she was happy.

**********

Tavaryn purposely halted near some craggy surfaces that made it difficult to see if someone left the group. He looked around, his eyes narrowed.

Haruka was impatient and ready to move but looking at the Shinigami, he didn't want to inflict wrath. He asked, "So are we heading in the right direction?" It sounded loud and phony in his ears but it gave Alriana the cover she needed.

Tavaryn flipped open his device for determining location and trajectory. He replied in an equally loud voice, "We are off a bit but from the general direction of this trail, we should hit the enemy base."

Geonosis

"R4, I need you to bring up a map of the tunnels in the area, and determine the chemical composition of the vivinecrosis gas." Kalla said to the droid, leading him back to the rest of the group.

Glory

"Alright, you're clean. Escort Admiral Beroc to the Detention Level." The stormtrooper guarding the door out of the hangar informed the security officer, unlocking it, but not before taking a blaster bolt to the head from one of Beroc's stormtroopers. "Quickly sir, you'll draw a lot less attention of they think you're just a common grunt." He explained to Beroc.

"We are off a bit but from the general direction of this trail, we should hit the enemy base."

Alriana crouched down to the ground and opened herself to the force. She could sense some animal life near them but it was nothing dangerous...but she was sensing something else. For some reason she couldn't identify it but whatever it was she was sure she had ran into it before.

"Quickly sir, you'll draw a lot less attention of they think you're just a common grunt."

Beroc nodded at his security officer and quickly took the armor and helmet of the dead stormtrooper and quickly put it on.

He grabbed the blaster rifle of the trooper and hefted it over his shoulder. He turned to his security officer and the stormtroopers. "Remember, there are only a few of us so don't get shot. Try to avoid combat at all costs."

R4 beeped an affirmation and showed a holo of the tunnels as he had in memory storage. The holo revealed a honeycomb of tunnels and caverns that were ideal for hiding and ambushing. Tonatius gave a short whistle, "We've got our work cut out for us especially if we have to seal any of the tunnels up. As to the gas, R4 would have to be the canary in the mining tunnel."

**********

Tavaryn knew the conversation was phony but they had to know what was following them. He looked around as he carried on his conversation making a distinct nod to Alriana while making it seem like nothing to anyone observing.

(@Castiron: that belongs in the Casting Call thread, not the RP itself)

Geonosis

"Then it's a good thing he's a droid. Based on the shape of the tunnels, we focus on the junction points. Once we determine the composition, we can determine whether or not reacting it with the oxygen in the air will render it harmless." Kalla pointed out.

NISD Glory

"That shouldn't be difficult. We have nothing distinguishing us from the rest of the stormtroopers on the ship, and a firefight would be utter chaos." The security officer pointed out. "We shouldn't have any difficulty making it to auxiliary control."

Above Geonosis

"Silver Eagle to Ebon Hawk, do you require assistance?" Iyav sent out, en route to the planet's surface. "We need to resupply, but we'll do what we can."

Iyav wasn't an idiot. Even though he couldn't directly detect the other ship, he was able to detect the gravitational distortions and the fuel emissions from, along with what appeared to be sensor interference. Sure, they were good for hiding ships, but they also made obvious that something was being hidden. He switched on the comm, and called out to the other ship.

"I know you're there, but I'm a reasonable man. Identify yourself, and there's no need for this to get unpleasant."
