Astrotoy7 Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Thanks to the marvels of modern veterinary science, Oscar - who had his two rear paws damaged in a horrible accident - now has some fancy prosthetic limbs, and is able to run and jump just like any other cat. The technology used was a breakthrough in Biomedical engineering looking at how bones and skin interact, in a way that minimises infection resulting from the implant. This tech will eventually be ported over to humans. Implanted prostheses are biomechanically much more efficient than the variety most humans get today. more info HERE Piccie of Oscar I found this on YT. Now that Oscar is used to his specially designed prosthetic feet - he is moving very naturally (This BBCode requires its accompanying plugin to work properly.) MRAOW! mtfbwya

Oscar is the guy that gives Steve his assignments.
Qui-Gon Glenn Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 I was hoping to see Oscar hop for us, but he was walking very naturally, and his prostheses seemed "natural" and "robotic" at the same time. Thus Sabres pic, I guess...
Jae Onasi Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 The cat's name should be Steve. Oscar is the guy that gives Steve his assignments. Exactly!! And he can have a girlfriend named Jaime.
