Escape pod

Juhani's arms were shaking with the duel efforts of trying to slow the pod down and keeping the force bubble surrounding the pod intact. She turned to Zen as the pod came in closer to the ground.

"Brace yourself!" She shouted to him as the pod slammed into the ground and a large cloud of dust shot up from the ground as the pod buried itself nose first into the ground.

N'tala

Zarev looked up from the wreckage of what had once been a functioning sensor array as some sort of small ship or possibly an escape pod streaked across the sky. He looked down at the sensor array and then brought his armored fist down on it.

It is possible that whatever that thing was it may have the parts I need to get the sensors back online. Not to mention that there may be survivors.

The Mandalorian grabbed his assault rifle and watched as a small amount of smoke began to float up into the air. He paused for a moment and then began to walk toward the smoke.

"This isn't going to be pleasant. Brace yourself!" Torent told Niera, as their badly damaged Aurek fighter plunged into what passed for the atmosphere on N'tala. Even though the atmosphere wasn't nearly as abundant in oxygen as most civilised planets in the galaxy, the breached hull of the Aurek heated up greatly upon entry, making their descent even more uncomfortable. "I can see some Republic escape pods over there, let's see how close we can get to them." Niera pointed out.

Zen's head hit the ceiling the second the pod made contact with ground. At the same time, his back hit the wall a little harder. He snarled and let out a roar as he shook his head. It took him a few moments to regain his senses. Zen blinked a few times before finally attempting to stand. He turned his attention to the pod door and ripped it from the pod. He tossed the door away and climbed out of the pod. He turned back and called out to Juhani.

"Are you alright Grand Master Juhani?"

UPON THE ASTEROID N'TALA, ALONGSIDE COMMANDER TU'UN

"By the way, Commander," Perdante asked humbly, "is there anywhere that my comrade and I could get a hot shower in the refreshers as well as medical treatment? I'm sorry to have met you under these...odiferous conditions." She wrinkled her nose, as she still smelled worse than a Hutt's backside after dinner. Maybe the Mal did not have olfactory organs that were as sensitive as a human's. The Jedi certainly hoped so, as she tried to stay upwind of her rescuer and benefactor. The rebreather masks were certainly helping, but this time...?

The little girl looked up at Tu'un. "Excuse me, mister. Um... can we eat too? I'm getting really, really hungry. After that practice, I sure could use some food and drink."

Kyza smiled brightly, waiting for a reponse. She thought about Officer Salvatore and Jedi Knight Perdante. They seemed skillful and whatnot. Her main thought was on Perdante. Sensing that she was Force Sensitive and a Jedi, maybe she could teach Kyza what she kew, the little girl thought.

She looked at Tu'un and smiled brightly.

((Uh, Sky, you double posted, might wanna fix that.))

"By the way, Commander," the Jedi squeaked out meekly, "Is there anywhere that my comrade and I could get a hot shower in the refreshers as well as medical treatment? I'm sorry to have met you under these...odiferous conditions."

Came yet another reply from the Jedi as the Republic fellow simply kept himself clammed up. Tu'un would have to take lack of response to commanding officers into consideration later, he was too pressed to get info on the potential threat that the 'M'tr'eh' was heading towards, he didn't want the ship - no matter how powerful and well equipped - to go running into trouble blind. Plus there were many other issues to deal with, and being the only high ranking officer with any great deal of seniority on the colony, he was the one that had to run things while N'tala was in it's state of alert.

As they went down the hatch and found themselves marching down an empty and pristine corridor, they rounded on a small medical facility.

"Don't be sorry apprentice," he glanced at her with calculating eyes before continuing. "Your smells are nothing compared to the scent of a real battlefield, and believe me, I've been on plenty of those."

They entered the facility and he motioned for the head physician to come over, who, surprisingly, was not Mal, but a Mon Cal; they conversed shortly before Tu'un ushered the two bystanders to the back rooms where they would be treated.

As they went into a room with examining tables and the two were seated on them the Mal then continued, "I already said we were going to take you for medical treatment Miss Perdante, and as you can see I was not lying, no need to ask when you were already offered. As for showers and food," he paused to eye Kyza for a moment before going on. "I can assure you that once you have both been examined and treated as necessary, then you will both be given separate," yet again he paused to stare with a dull gaze at Perdante, "Accommodations to which you may both use at your discretion."

"As for food, we cannot assure that that demand will be met so readily," he turned to eye Kyza once more. "I ,unfortunately, cannot cater to your every whim and need, Kyza, I have more pressing matters to which I must attend," the Mal looking over at Sal with hard, squinting eyes. "Such as ascertaining the purpose of the Republic vessel that just exploded near our colony. Finding out who destroyed said vessel, and maybe getting some answers out of our guests."

He stood up straight with his hands behind his back, gazing at the duo before going on. "There are thousands of Mal, and hundreds of other species on this colony, and a near equal number aboard the 'M'tr'eh', I don't want that ship flying blind into danger, it could be a trap for all we know. I just want to know who attacked you, what faction they're from, what kind of ship was it? Or whether there was more than one."

"But it seems these two are more concerned with eachother. I don't have that luxury, I have a colony, a ships' crew to care about," he stopped as the head physician and some nurses knocked on the door and entered to examine Perdante and Sal.

"Sir, we have confirmed more pods have landed, orders?" The security officer from before asked, making Tu'un come back to the realization that their were practically ten armed men standing in the small room with them.

"Tell surface teams to check the LZ, and head up yourselves. I'll follow once I've grown tired of playing 'chase-my-tail' with these two," he sighed with a hint of exasperation, his eyes rolling ever-so-slightly. "And one of you call to get some rations in here." As the men nodded and left, Tu'un looked over at Kyza saying softly, "I can at least do that much for you."

"Now, Perdante, Sal, I'll be in the waiting room for you two. Once you're done being examined and cared for, I would greatly appreciate some cooperation from both of you, but if I can only get more requests and quiet demeanors, then I'm going to have leave you two to fend for yourselves, and as nice a colony as this is, you two still don't want to be here without an escort, it's....big." He informed them in a restored demeanor of calm before leaving the room, giving one last nod towards Kyza, and heading for the waiting room where he could direct things outside over his comm.

Sal watched the alien leave with a set jaw and cold eyes. He hadn't appreciated the fact that he didn't have a chance to take control of the situation; between the surprise of the aliens' appearance and the Republic uniforms they were wearing...he felt useless and lost. Now that the Mal's commanding officer had left, he felt as though he could take control of the situation a little more.

He being closest to the door, the medical team stepped first towards him. He waved them away, hopping down from the examination table he was sitting on. "Pay attention to her." he said, waving them towards Perdante. His eyes lingered on her for a moment. "I'm fine."

The crash for Fara and Mica was a little gentler than his brother's had been. Mica had been able to maintain a little more control over his pod, so the fact that neither of them were quite strapped in didn't much matter; Fara was knocked into the wall, but otherwise they were quite safe.

As the dust settled around them again and the hum of the pod's systems shut down, the captain looked at her communications officer. "What have we got, Mica?"

"There are...four pods down so far." he said, checking the scanner. "But there are multiple sentients out there. Most of them aren't carrying Republic INS signatures."

Fara pressed her lips together in a thin line. Then, she turned abruptly and popped the hatch, climbing out. She would have to figure out how to bury the four companions left still in their restraints in the pod...but the live soldiers were her number one priority now.

"Are you alright Grand Master Juhani?"

Juhani shook her head to try and drive away some of the pain in her head from where it had connected with the wall. She wasn't dizzy or tired and she assumed that was a good thing.

"I'm fine." She said quietly. The truth was she was exhausted from using the force to try and make the pod's landing a bit less rough and although she didn't feel tired or dizzy for some reason she was having trouble concentrating and that was making it difficult for her to sense lifeforms.

"Keep an eye out for anything that moves," she told Zen as she attempted to center herself.

UPON THE ASTEROID N'TALA

The Jedi Knight, as soon as she could see straight, found herself being attended to by a skilled medical team. Thanks for putting some medical gelsalve on that gash below my left eye, she thought, although--ow!--it does sting a little. Thank you also for ignoring the giant sweat stains in my armpit area. Sheesh! Perdante didn't exactly know why she was being so sensitive about the issue of her...fragrance, but it didn't exactly make for a good first impression meeting the locals on this new planet. Commander Tu'un seemed nice enough, if a little too stern. If it was answers he wanted, she'd give them by the dozen as soon as the medics were finished making sure none of her body parts were seriously damaged. That landing had been one Force-loving--

She tried to wink at Sal, but a nurse told her not to move her injured eye...

((that's probably my fault, sorry about that))

"Keep an eye out for anything that moves,"

Zen nodded his head at Juhani and began to look around. He made sure not to activate his energy sword, no matter how much his instincts told him to. Though he still had a trick up his sleeve. He turned on his active camouflage and started looking around again.

The young woman smiled at her female compatriot, who was much smaller but definitely just as wise--or, she would become so with the proper training. "Yes," Perdante answered, looking Kyza straight in the eye. "I am truly a Jedi Knight, but I was not always so. Before that, I..." She paused. How much should she reveal of her dark past, especially to a mind so young and impressionable? After quickly weighing the risks of avoiding the issue versus confronting it, she finally responded, "I was not always a Jedi. When I was your age, I was kidnapped from my home on Coruscant and forced to join the ranks of the Sith." Her mouth ran dry. How much did Kyza know about the Sith, beyond that they were evil?

Even as Juhani meditated she could sense that there was somebody approaching them. She was still slightly disoriented from the crash and was having trouble getting a clear reading on the being that was getting closer and closer so she looked over at Zen and then got up and moved over to him.

"Somebody is approaching." She whispered to him before moving off back toward the pod and grabbing her lightsaber while sending a message to her apprentice. Apprentice, Zen and I require aid. Tell me where you are.

Zarev watched the two beings as he approached them under stealth. He knew that one of them was a cathar but the other one was of a species that he couldn't identify but it looked quite formidable. And from the looks of it the Cathar was a jedi judging by the lightsaber she was carrying.
