Star Wars: Fighting for Peace

Xan felt like he got hit by a bantha. His head began to hurt unexpectedly. He could sense something wasn't right with Tandra and Quaver. He could see the Chieftaness signaling one of the members of the Children of Light. Using Force Speed, one of the force abilities he was good at using, he ran as quickly as he could.

Xan drew one of his swords, and using a combination of Force Jump and his own acrobatic abilities, he landed in front of Tandra and Quaver.

"Look buddy, why don't let the lady and her kid talk. Of course if you'd rather I'd kill you than that's fine too."

OSSUS, NEAR THE OLD JEDI TEMPLE

Myzu's eyes grew dark. "No. You're the one who is about to die." He gritted his teeth and sprang toward Xander, signaling the rest of the tribe to attack. Obediently, the others dashed forward with belligerence in their eyes. The Chieftess, despite her age, was not about to let her tribe be threatened. She drew a ceremonial dagger from the long folds of her robe and joined the fray.

"Wait!" Tandra screamed, to no avail. She yanked Quaver close to her. "Stay back," she warned. "There's no way in this galaxy I'm letting you get killed." To her horror, the young boy was pulling out a lighter and grenade.

"Quaver..."

"Stop this nonsense right now," he said coldly, "or I blow us all sky-high!"

Isaac left eyebrow perked up after hearing a strange noise coming from below. Looking down with his eyes only he saw the binjinphant called Cyan. This little creature was rather annoying but Isaac figured he'd better pay attention to it. Hopefully the thing wasn't sick, he didn't know much about this type of creature so healing it would be difficult. Isaac turned towards the binjinphant and squatted down resting his forearms over his thighs.

"What is it little one?" Isaac asked as he looked at Cyan with slight curiosity. Sometimes Isaac wished he had to skill to understand beast creatures, but he didn't and it was something he had grown use too.

"I'm a clone of Lyna Honso. You see, her old friend, Lemia if you remember, asked a Kaminoan named Sig Tapps to make a clone of her deceased friend. It's been a year and... here I am."

Cade stood off of the crate and began pacing around the area. His back faced Lyna, as he watched nearby starships fly out of the hangar. "I see..." he added. A clone of Lyna. That was all that was circling his head.

"Then I was wrong about you after all." he turned to face her. "You may be her... but you trully are not."

"But you wanted to speak with me. Well, here I am standing right here. During the past year, I became a form of authority for this city. The locals here called me "Reaper"... but its still just Cade to you. Rav contacted me and gave me a lead on you. I assume that was your doing?"

"Then I was wrong about you after all." he turned to face her. "You may be her... but you trully are not."

Lyna looked down sadly. "I know..."

"But you wanted to speak with me. Well, here I am standing right here. During the past year, I became a form of authority for this city. The locals here called me "Reaper"... but its still just Cade to you. Rav contacted me and gave me a lead on you. I assume that was your doing?"

She sighed, standing up and rubbing her arm nervously. "Yeah. But I had no intention on hurting you. See... I keep having memories of the old Lyna flashing before me. You were in the flashes the most. Maybe... she really loved you. And... I know no one can take her place. Not even me."

Lyna shook her head sadly. "Whatever happened between you and Lyna... I guess I want to start over. But if you don't want, I'll just leave right now and stop Sethos. That's my main mission. But I just wanted to see you. To understand something."

-----------------------------------------

All of a sudden, Saluna and Tino came between the Ysanna tribe and the intruders. "WAIT!!! Hold your weapons. Let us talk with them," Tino said. Saluna turned to the boy with the gernade and lighter. "If you put down the gernade and lighter, will you hear what my cousin and I have to say. In a peaceful matter. None of us has to die, you know. Please."

-----------------------------------------

Cyan jumped on his shoulder and sniffed Isaac. Something about him wasn't right. She could sense it. But then... she sensed conflict within him. Hey, she was no Jedi. Just an ordinary creature.

The binjinphant squealed, licking Isaac's face. Then she jumped down, got her bouncing ball, and placed it in front of Isaac.

Xan flipped back to avoid Myzu's sword. He was ready to attack, when he saw Quaver holding a grenade. He once again found himself impressed with the boy. Suddenly it seemed the skirmish was put to a halt when the small boy and the hot one emerged from no where. Xan couldn't help but grin, as this is exactly who he needed to talk to.

"Do as they say Quaver," Xan said. He looked over at Tino then Saluna, and then to Ysanna. "Your lovely Chieftess, If we could speak with those two for just five minutes, that would be greatly appreciated. We'll be on our way, and you'll never see us again."

Quaver, glancing warily at Xander, obeyed the latter's command. "Trust me," he said. "Even though I am a pyromaniac, certifiably insane and a convicted felon at only ten years old, I have no desire to blow anyone up. Yet." With the lighter snuffed and the grenade safely laid upon the ground, he made a motion with his hand to beckon Tandra forward. On wobbly legs, the older woman moved. Her gaze was fixed upon Myzu, who had a murderous glare.

"We're not liars," Quaver said, gritting his teeth. "We're simply people who are looking for Lyna, because our lives might depend upon us finding her."

Tandra nodded. "My son is right. We may not know what we're getting ourselves into, but we must locate her, alive or dead. It's truly vital."

"Vital enough for both of you to risk your own lives, it seems," Myzu added, not taking his eyes off of Tandra, Quaver and Xander. "Tell me: what is it that compelled you to start your long journey here and seek us out?"

Cade looked down sadly. "Its not that simple... We have been mourning her for over a year now. And now you just suddenly show up." he took a step toward her. "I'm sorry, but I would feel like I'd betray her if we started all over. You and I both know you yourself cannot replace who she is; no matter how hard you try."

"But I can offer you this: if you are serious about taking down the Sethos Empire, then you are going to need my help. Let me offer you my services; as a way for honoring her death."

Xan crossed his arms and chuckled as Myzu spoke. He knew he could take this joker in a fight, and part of him still wanted to.

"My name is Xan, and I work for a private cooperation. My boss hired me to bring these two to find out what happened to Lyna. Tandra hear posses a unique ability that may just give Lyna the edge she needs...in defeating Darth Sethos. We came here not for you Chieftess, but him." Xan pointed to Tino.

Xan walked over to him and knelt down so he was at eye level with him.

"Kid, I think you can make contact with Lyna's clone through the force. Will you help us?" Xan asked.

Lyna looked up at Cade quietly. Maybe he was right. She couldn't replace the old Lyna. She must've been really important to Cade. And what was she? Just a clone. A copy. A fake...

"I... I understand. If you really want to help, you can. I don't mind. But if you change your mind, I won't hold it against you." Lyna smiled sadly and turned around and walked back to her ship.

(Meanwhile)

Tino looked down and thought about it. Then he smiled warmly. "It would be nice to see the clone of Lyna. Let me go with you guys." "Tino!" JoJo said.

The little boy glanced at his cousins and grandmother. He looked up at Halana. "Gran-Gran? I'm growing up and stronger than before. I want to prove to you guys that I can do this. Little people can do big things too." He looked back at Xan. "That's why I'm going with you."

Saluna looked at Tino and smiled. She placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Me too." She looked at Myzu and Halana. "Grandmother? Myzu? May you let us go, while you stay to keep our Ysanna family safe?"

Isaac looked down at the Cyan with the ball. He couldn't help but sigh as he leaned over to pick the ball up and examine it. Throwing it into the ship could cause problems if it bounced off the wrong control panels, not that Isaac wouldn't be able to fix the problem if one did occur but there had to be more of a desire there to do so. He was just here to help the new Lyna on her journey for as long as he was capable of doing so. The girl still had much to learn, and Isaac wasn't sure how much time he had before time would be up completely.

"Well guess we could see how well you catch." Isaac said looking down at Cyan.

Pulling back his left hand he lightly tossed the ball through the air for Cyan to catch. Where is finally ended up Isaac couldn't be completely sure. But the ship wasn't screaming out in bloody murder so the ball did not bounce of of anything of importance.

OSSUS, NEAR XANDER'S VESSEL AND THE OLD JEDI TEMPLE

Myzu frowned, as did Halana--the venerable matriarch of the Ysanna tribe.

"These persons are not Jedi," the former said darkly, "although I sense that the female is truly sensitive to the Force. Perhaps she can speak with the dead, as she claims, but I detect a cloud of insensate evil surrounding them. In the woman I sense fear and dread, but in the boy, I sense nothing. Cold. Emptiness. A deep, dark void. As for the armored escort with them..." He flexed his muscles. "I should much like to duel him, and test his mettle. I suspect that once his armor has been crushed by my fists, his bravado will vanish. I will not allow you to leave, Saluna and Tino. Something is terribly wrong here, and these intruders lie at the heart of it."

Stepping back, Myzu cleared his throat. "Your lives will surely be in peril!"

"I... I understand. If you really want to help, you can. I don't mind. But if you change your mind, I won't hold it against you."

'Wait..." he held up a hand to urge the Lyna clone to stop. "Just let me gather my essentials, and I'll rendevous with you later." he pulled out his dataPad.

"You go on ahead, and I'll get ready. I can take a shuttle off world and meet you somewhere. Specify a destination?" he scratched his head. "Oh yeah, before you ask; remember that old rust bucket of a ship I had before you... um... nevermind... its still around here somewhere. Do you need it, or have you already got a ship?"

"Look pal if you want to me to beat you senseless in front your fellow tribe members, than that's perfectly fine with me," Xan said to Myzu.

He looked over at Ysanna herself, who seemed to be as stubborn as Myzu.

"I don't think you understand what I'm trying to say here. Sethos knows Lyna's been cloned and he wants to stop her. We need to get the Lyna before Sethos does, and we can't do that without the boy. I'll return both Tino and Saluna once I'm done with them."

Halana Ysanna raised an eyebrow. "Done with them?" she almost purred, like a cat that knows it has a mouse cornered and is about to pounce. "I don't exactly relish your turn of phrase, sir. I also do not appreciate that you've threatened to beat one of my own 'senseless', as you have so eloquently put it. However, with the threat of Darth Sethos at hand..." She sighed. "We Ysanna cannot afford to ignore it, despite our suspicions of you and your companions. Tino? Saluna? I give you my permission, if not my blessing, to go with the armed one, the woman and the boy. Keep your eyes open, and if Sethos strikes, call out to me through the Force. I will do what I can to protect you--especially your minds." She sighed. "As for you, intruder, and those with you, be safe. If any harm comes to either Tino or Saluna while they're on this 'mission', I shall hold you solely responsible." With that, she turned her back toward Xander. "Go."

Xan chuckled and put his weapons away. He was now an entire step closer to finding Lyna...he was actually making progress.

"You heard the Chieftess, let's move out," he said to his group.

Xan started walking back to his ship, but made sure to slow down his pace to let Quaver catch up.

"By the way, that was some quick thinking back there kid."

OSSUS, ON THE WAY TO XANDER'S VESSEL

"Hey, no problem," Quaver said with a smile. He was pleased at Xander's compliment, but trying to act like he didn't care so as to appear aloof and untouchable. He didn't quite trust his armored escort, and what if Tino and Saluna, their new companions, found out that he and Tandra really were impostors? "It's one of the few times in life where being--um--interested in warfare and combat comes in handy." He dared not say pyromaniac.

Tandra had a question, which, fortunately for Quaver, interrupted his little conversation with Xander. "So Sethos knows Lyna's been cloned, eh?" she asked. "If that's so, he must be a lot stronger in the Force as a Sith Lord than I am as a medium. Even I had trouble detecting her two presences: the cloned one and the one who had passed on. What else do you think he knows?" She bit her lip. "How close do you think he is to finding Lyna?"

Lyna looked at Cade and smiled. "No, I got my own ship. It's on the landing platform. And yeah, I can wait for you, no problem. I'll be at the ship. Oh, and we're going to Nal Hutta. A Hutt named Vedo has information I need." And with that she walked back towards her ship, thinking about what Cade said. She did feel bad for his loss, no doubt about that. She'd feel bad if she lost a loved one too...

Moments later, Lyna was back inside Justice. "Get ready, Isaac and Cyan. We'll be waiting on Cade when he's ready." She walked to the cockpit to sit down.

(Meanwhile)

After they said their good-byes, Saluna and Tino walked behind the three people, holding hands. Tino looked up at Saluna with teary eyes. "Are we gonna be okay?"

The young woman smiled down at her little cousin and smiled. "Trust in the Force, Tino. I won't let anything happen to you. I promise." The seven-year-old rested his head on Saluna's arm, and smiled tearfully.

Xan was once again thankful for his mask, as he was smiling down at the kid. He couldn't help but put himself in the boy's shoes. He would have done the exact same thing. He didn't want to hurt anyone, but if it meant getting the job done...

Xan was snapped out of his trance by Tandra.

"Sethos knows she's been cloned, but my boss has been informed by spies that he too suffered the same fate you did. Chances are he'll send some of his people to find her. Let's hope we can beat him to it."

Xan looked behind him over at Saluna and Tino.

"Hey cutie, thanks for helping us out back there. You too little man. When we get to the ship I'm gonna need you guys to try to contact Lyna through the Force."

An hour later, Cade returned to the dock - carrying a bag of his luggage, and another bag filled with basic essentials when going on a mission; medpacks, ammunition, etc...

He climbed aboard the ramp leading into the freighter Lyna labelled as "The Justice". He was looking forward to seeing the ship through her paces, and how it compares to the Ossanian Angel - which was now in the hands of his own team. Before leaving, he made it clear to them that if they sold her, than he we'll be coming back for a little "compensation".

He walked to the cockpit, where he found Lyna. "I'm back. Whats available for accomodation?"

Saluna nodded with a smile. "Sure thing. And you're welcome. You must forgive my family. Ever since Lyna's death, they have been grievance and trusted no outsiders. I also sense the Dark Side trying to take over the Ysanna. But Tino and I keep them together, as we keep ourselves in the Light Side of the Force."

Tino smiled, and nodded his head happily. He looked at Quaver. Perhaps he could speak to him and get to know him. Family or not, Tino loved to make new friends.

(Meanwhile)

"I'm back. Whats available for accomodation?"

Going back to reality, Lyna looked up at Cade and smiled. "Oh, hello. Um... you can rest in one of the passenger quarters. Number 3 is open." She began to set course for Nal Hutta. "We'll also be in Nal Hutta shortly. Make yourself at home." And with that, the engines of the Justice came on and the ship lifted off the ground of the docking bay.

OSSUS, NEAR XANDER'S VESSEL

Quaver noticed the young boy Tino's eyes on him. He felt a bit unnerved. Except for Tandra Kerthian, he had never had any real friends. Back when he had been--well--sane, and in school like a normal eight-year-old child, he was either bullied or ignored by boys and girls alike. They called him an "enu", short for "enuresis", or bedwetting. The trouble was, Quaver had never wet the bed ever since he'd learned to use the toilet--ever. That was the cruel stereotype surrounding pyromaniacs, but Quaver did not fit it in the least. Another stereotype that reigned in regards to people of his type was that they constantly wanted to blow stuff up, or burn stuff down. Even though Quaver loved fire as much as his own life, he loved it even more when it had a purpose. Like scorching sadistic pint-sized bullies' houses to the ground.

A sudden breeze jolted the young boy back to reality--and to Tino's eyes.

"Hey," Quaver said, managing a quick smile and a sigh of relief. "Sorry I was kind of being a space cadet there for a moment. My name's Quaver," he said, not volunteering further information on his own. Any more, he knew, and Tino would instantly be so scared he'd either run away, not talk to him anymore, or even worse, try to kill him. The Force ran strong within Tino's veins...

Xan smirked from underneath his mask.

"For someone like you, I'll let it slide," he said using his charm. "Sethos is a terrible man, and needs to be stopped. I know Lyna can do it, with our help of course. My boss knows some things that will help Lyna in her quest to defeat him. I can only hope we can get to her in time," he added in.

Xan stopped once he reached his ship. Right...its a two seater. Xan however was a quick thinker. He surveyed his ship for a few seconds to come up with a plan. There were two beds in the ship, in addition to the two seats. He smirked at how he had the seating order arranged in his head.

"Well my ship isn't exactly roomy so we're just gonna have to make room. Tino and Quaver, you guys will have to be on the beds. Tandra you can have the seat behind me...as for you Saluna, hmm...I guess we'll have to share a chair, if that's alright with you?" Xan said as he leaned back on his ship.

"We'll also be in Nal Hutta shortly. Make yourself at home."

"Thank you. I'll go set up, and meet you later..." he left the cockpit to walk towards the crew quarters. Cade had been on many ships before. He was always on the run in deep space, either from something or voluntarily.

It was a rather fine looking ship. Cade could get used to this. He made his way to his appointed room within the crew quaters. Atleast his room had a porthole overlooking the outside.

Soon the ship took off and away from the docking bay of Zeltros. It exited the atmosphere and into darkness of space...

  • 1 month later...

Lyna nodded at Cade with a smile. Then she put the ship in auto-pilot. She sat on her pilot chair to rest. The binjinphant, Cyan, went towards Cade. When she got to him, she jumped on his shoulder and sqeaked happily. It's been a long time since she saw her "frenemy".

(Meanwhile)

Tino smiled at Quaver brightly. "Nice to meet you! I'm Tino."

Once they got on Xan's ship, the man began to arrange where everyone might be. After he told Saluna that she might sit on the chair with him, she grinned. "I don't mind."
