TestType Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Just thought I'd throw you guys a heads up for gog.com's small adventure games sale. They have the following four games for 50% off over the weekend: The Journeyman Project 2 - $2.99 The Longest Journey - $4.99 Sanitarium - $4.99 Tex Murphy: The Pandora Directive - $4.99 Also I'd love to hear your thoughts/recommendations on these titles as I'm debating if I should pick any of these up. Sanitarium is the one that caught my eye, but I don't know... I have too many games to play and Steam sales have me spoiled with their low prices, so even $5 seems a bit much.
s-island Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 The Journeyman Project 2 is the only one I didn't enjoy. Sanitarium I never played through but liked what I played. The other two are excellent.
clone2727 Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 The Journeyman Project 2 is the only one I didn't enjoy.I no longer like you as a person. How can you not absolutely love Arthur?!??!
Capn_Nacho Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 I think everybody absolutely loves Arthur... in Legacy of Time. Buried in Time really was a bit of a drag.
Ascovel Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Buried in Time is the best Journeyman by far - with the most interesting time zones, good sci-fi plot and carefully crafted atmosphere. Legacy of Time is fun (the Chameleon suit and all), but inconsistently lighthearted and downright silly at times, as well annoyingly preachy during the finale. Also, it's way too easy.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts. Legacy was easy except for the stupid tunnels in Shangri-La when you have to try to redirect all the heat. OK, maybe not hard, but definitely a PITA.
MusicallyInspired Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 I have all three but haven't yet played the second one yet. I remember hacking the first one as a kid and watching all the videos and blowing the story, though. That was a difficult game! Neat concepts, though. I also couldn't figure out the controls for Legacy.
TestType Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 Ended up getting Sanitarium. Seems like a very unique and interesting adventure game with many glowing recommendations.
The Tingler Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Broken Sword Trilogy, including the new Special Edition of the first game, are now on sale. I just hope they get the fourth game, Angel of Death, since I've tried that on three machines and have never been able to play it.
