Fallen Guardian
For kotor 1, I was wondering how do you get module textures to only be used in your custom module?
newbiemodder
Check out Darth Insidious' tutorial Module reskinning in the tutorials http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=175101 It's good, it's what I started with. If you have any questions....please ask.
Dak Drexl
It's good, it's what I started with. If you have any questions....please ask. I have a question. I asked DI but he never replied. Hey, I just used your modules tutorial but have a question. The module I'm trying to make is Davik's estate (m08aa). As I get to hex editing, do I have to hex edit every single model file that's titled "m08aa_XXX"? Because I tried just editing the first one, "m088_01b", but nothing happens in my new module texture-wise. Do you think you could help? I hope I'm explaining this well. newbiemodder
I don't have K1 installed so I'm not familiar with that particular module. That said...I would say yes you do. Each module is made up multiple room models, so to get the full effect you would have to hex edit each one.
Fallen Guardian
Alright, I'm going to start reading up.
Fallen Guardian
All right, after reading I have only two questions which I posed to Darth InSidious through a PM a few weeks ago but no response, so now I'm going to ask you guys. How do you make the texture names correspond to the module and do you have to rename every room model?

Fallen Guardian
Thanks, but which models do I Hex-Edit? In Insidious' tutorial he said to make the three letter beginning of the texture to be Lz1, or something unique like that. Then he never made any mention of it again. Do the textures have to be similar to your module name such as, your module is exe_m77aa does the three letter part at the beginning have to be m77? Or exe? Please, help. Canderis
No they do not, and you need to hex edit all the models pertaining to the module
Fallen Guardian
Okay, I believe I did but when I warp to the module it looks like this. Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) It seems the only edited textures that actually appeared were on one wall and some broken plates, which my screen shot button did not capture. What am I doing wrong? Is it a hex-edit problem?

Sithspecter
It also looks like you messed up the .vis and/or .lyt files, you probably want to go back and check those.
