Sometimes for good reasons and sometimes for bad ones, Fahrenheit 451 made a lasting impression on my thinking. My condolences to his family and to his fans.

Oh man, we lost another one. R.I.P. Mr. Ray Bradbury, you will be missed.

 

Reid said Bradbury was the first writer to jump from pulp magazines to mainstream literary magazines, thus bringing science fiction writing into the mainstream. Bradbury also wrote fantasy and horror.

So sort of the father of modern sci fi writings?

I'll miss him and his work. Mrs. Holocron wants to re-read The Martian Chronicles again after hearing the news. I'll probably re-visit The Illustrated Man myself.

Picked up a copy of The October Country a few weeks back, his short stories have always sat well with me so I'm glad to finally own my own copy. Very saddened to see him gone.
