Thrik Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Hi everyone, Just letting you know that I've given the Grim Fandango Network an overhaul for the first time since 2004. There's a lot of additional content in draft form that I'll be finishing and adding to the site in the near future, and if anybody wishes to contribute fan art, etc please feel free to use the contact information on the site.
Huz Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Looking pretty swish! I somehow hadn't read Bret Mogilefsky's article about using Lua in the game before - judging by the opening paragraphs, I assume it was posted to the Lua development newsgroup or something? Looks pretty interesting. Hopefully he didn't get the sack! (I'm sure that article was on the old GFN, lying undiscovered by human civilisation... now it's nice and easy to find!)
ZaXeriaw Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Looking good! Don't know why, but in some weird way, it kinda reminds me of the old official GF page at LucasArts? Except that this one is actually really cool, and the other one was filled with frames, exploding gifs and a lot of other 90ies stuff :-)
Thrik Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 Haha. I was wondering if anyone would notice that it's an intentional throwback to the old official design and also the circa 2001 GFN (screenshot).
Tall Guy Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Thrik, Perhaps an updated screenshot on the LFN page? Can we maybe get a post on Mojo too? Spread the word?

Okay, I couldn't remember that version of the GFN, but back in the days I visited the official page more than once a week, just to look for updates or announcements of a sequel ... disappointed every damn time!
MeddlingMonk Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Speaking of new content, I've made a start on a kind of introduction to the novel. I got stuck for a beginning (fear of the blank page) so I started in the middle. It's not done yet it's getting there.
Gownaar Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 The path of least resistance is to start in the middle and work your way to the center. Also known as path of no resistance. It may not get the job done but at least you didn't try.
xGrimx Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Nice to see some familiar faces running GFN, new layout looks great. It gets me excited to play GF again..
