Just another tidbit to add to the whole issue of "blood and/or gore in JK2:"

Outlaws, a 1996 FPS (and a mighty cool one at that) made by LucasArts (and the team that went on to do Mysteries of the Sith) was rated "Teen" and it contained red blood (a "gore" setting you could turn on or off in the options menu, on by default I believe).

Granted it wasn't much, but you could see it blew out of the enemies when you shot them.

What demo? Outlaws?

Oh, and HL is rated Mature

I don't know about the demo, but in the full version of Outlaws, you'll notice with Gore checked, you'll see blood spurts whenever you score hits on enemies (except with fists or the knife toss).

Examples: <a href="http://www.public.iastate.edu/~kurgan/olblood1.jpg">[1]</a>

<a href="http://www.public.iastate.edu/~kurgan/olblood4.jpg">[2]</a>

<a href="http://www.public.iastate.edu/~kurgan/olblood7.jpg">[3]</a>

<a href="http://www.public.iastate.edu/~kurgan/olblood8.jpg">[4]</a>

<a href="http://www.public.iastate.edu/~kurgan/olblood6.jpg">[5]</a>

With Gore UNchecked, you won't see any blood, period. <a href="http://www.public.iastate.edu/~kurgan/olnoblud.jpg">Example</a>.

well, it wouldnt be too hard to turn that off as well. but, since when does a limp offend anyone, hell, if your offended by a person limping on the street, your considered predijuce...

I'm sure there will be no blood but I liked the arms flying off every so often. Though in Jedi Knight 2 I hope all the limbs can fall off and not just the left arm.

(I think Gabrobot said right arm because as your facing the trooper the arm on your right falls off and he just got confused).

OK, I'm convinced, have blood in the game, just keep it to a minimum.

And I agree it should be more realistic. I was walking around JK the other day, facing the ground, swung with my saber and some guys arm came off. Weird.

i didnt vote for gore either, but my Bush vote isnt goin too well now either, although, i still wouldnt change it...

speaking of that, i vote we have some bush in the game too... well, prob not.

who cares a little blood and gore never hurt anyone, and the people who complain about this stu are the ones who take gaming TOO seriously, but hell a little blood never hurt anyone

The fact is:

There is blood in SW,

When Ben Kenobi cut off the arm of the Alien in the Mos Eisley Cantina, (EIV)

when Obi-Wan Kenobi cut Darth Maul in half you see the blood evaporate as mentioned earlier (EIV) (I like this effect very much).

In JK2 you should be able to cut everything off, what your lightsabre hits, otherwise it wouldn't give you the feeling of realism.
