Jem Posted December 8, 2001 Posted December 8, 2001 Ok, who can guess the link between my avatar and my sig? first one gets a "fabulous " prize...
JR2000Z Posted December 8, 2001 Posted December 8, 2001 'My mind is a swirling miasma of scintillating thoughts and turgid ideas.' Thats what Max said I believe.

Wrong, wrong, wrong wrong! Here's a screenshot: (brown font means it's Sam who's talking) I also like these quotes from the game: My reply to Max: I'd love to but the only problem is that Lucas Arts doesn't make funny games anymore Next question: Who can guess where in the game the screenshot was taken? BTW I heard something about a Sam & Max 2 coming out, is this true?
JR2000Z Posted December 9, 2001 Posted December 9, 2001 The screenshot is the Mystery Vortex in Washington state. Its the generator room where you change your size so you will be able see the mole-man.

Guest Conor Posted December 9, 2001 Posted December 9, 2001 Let's see if my avatar works... Excellent
Nitro Posted December 9, 2001 Posted December 9, 2001 I'm still kinda torn between these 3... I'm just using the one I'm using cause I closed my eyes and touched the screen when I had them open on three windows... <img src="http://members.rogers.com/rcole0551/images/evaavatar1.jpg"> <img src="http://members.rogers.com/rcole0551/images/evaavatar2.jpg"> <img src="http://members.rogers.com/rcole0551/images/evaavatar3.jpg">
Nitro Posted December 9, 2001 Posted December 9, 2001 There are a couple other non-eva ones I'm cosidering as well...
Rogue Nine Posted December 9, 2001 Posted December 9, 2001 They're all really good. I'm not a very faithful avatar person, so mine will probably change from time to time. And I have a whole assload to choose from, since I have no life and spend my time in front of my computer making icons.
Flying Beastie Posted December 10, 2001 Posted December 10, 2001 My avatar's probably gonna change too occasionally. I have Kero Berros (this one, from Cardcaptors), my BeastMaster persona is currently using Draco (from DragonHeart), and if I can find a half-decent Vincent (Beauty & the Beast) or Dar (The BeastMaster), I may load them up.
Ikhnaton Posted December 10, 2001 Posted December 10, 2001 something to remember with avatars, especially when there are size restrictions like this board has: less is more
Taarkin Posted December 10, 2001 Posted December 10, 2001 I have the tiniest avatar here. The rest of you are just compensating for something.
Rogue Nine Posted December 10, 2001 Posted December 10, 2001 Uhuh....you take your anti-delusional medication today, T?
Ikhnaton Posted December 10, 2001 Posted December 10, 2001 actually, i think PB's avatar, the clever one making fun of the ubiquitous red X of IE is the smallest.
Borg Collective Posted December 11, 2001 Posted December 11, 2001 We too require a new avatar. 2 of 6 simply happened to be the most photogenic drone available at the time.
edlib Posted December 12, 2001 Posted December 12, 2001 I use Paint Shop Pro 7 to do it, but any decent image-editing program should be able to do it. I just checked,.. you can do it in MS Paint as well, although it's not as easy. Under "Image" use the Stretch/Skew to get it down to where you want. That's pretty awkward though. The "Imaging for Windows" program can do it too. It has a "Make Thumbnail" feature you can use to set the size in pixels. That's easier than the MS Paint way. *EDIT*: AARGHH! I just tried it and you can't grab and save the thumbnails seperately in that program! My bad. Just download the trial version of ACDSee 4. It has all the editing features, and if you re-register every month you can keep using it free. http://www.acdsystems.com/English/Products/ImagingProducts/ACDSee/ACDSee/index.htm
Rogue Nine Posted December 12, 2001 Posted December 12, 2001 I use a wonderful little program called IrfanView. Easy to use, compact (600+KB) and free!!!
edlib Posted December 12, 2001 Posted December 12, 2001 That works too. I haven't tried that one yet. I've heard good things though.
Rogue Nine Posted December 12, 2001 Posted December 12, 2001 Try it, it's really good. I make all my icons with it.
