DarkTemplar7477
Ok... what should I get? PS2 or Gamecube. I want PS2 because it has lots of cool games and I want starfighter. But I want Gamecube because it has Rouge Leader 2! IT LOOKS SO AWESOME! But all the rest of the games are crap. So please give me what you would do, and people who have the games, give me your review. Also, is Lucas Arts making Rouge Leader 2 multi platform? I hope so.... darthfergie
Well I had that debacle too...but consider the games on each system...consider them carefully...don't expect too many games on GameCube that are of superb quality early on... As for PS2 it has many quality games already in stock and if you missed out on the PS1 you can use games from way back that you wanted...also it has DVD compatability if you don't have a DVD player... but really I won't give you a certain choice... but remeber that GameCube is $200...in a years time it may be down to $150 or even less...Personally I'm getting PS2 and I might by a GameCube once they get down to a low price such as $80 or $50... Boba Rhett
Get a GameCube. Besides Rogue Leader, It will be getting several Episode II games as well as The Matrix and many other cool titles. It's also 100 smackers cheaper. Rogue Leader is also a GC exclusive. I'm gong to move this to the LucasConsoles forums. All console related questions should be directed to those forums please. Yoink. Sherack Nhar
Thanks Rhett This forum needs more people. DarkTemplar, I recommend you to read my Console War Week featured on this site. By reading this you should be able to make a good and informed decision on what console to buy. Note that the feature is not finished yet (Xbox Hardware is today, Xbox Software is tomorrow and then there's the conclusion sunday).

Note that the feature is not finished yet (Xbox Hardware is today, Xbox Software is tomorrow and then there's the conclusion sunday). First of all i'd like to say i really enjoyed reading those reviews, but i do have one point i'd like to make. Although you didn't by any means bash the ps2, throughout every article you seem rather biased against it. Its probably not anything you did on purpose, just something that came out in your writing because you don't happen to like the ps2 as much. You often times made little comments that put down the ps2 in other reviews, which is not the point. In the GC review, you praised the "innovative" anolog feature of the R and L buttons, yet you slammed the ps2 for doing so also. And did you ever think that the ps2 developers couldn't find any way to improve on the first, so they just added a new feature or two? Nope. You just said that they couldn't think of anything, so they made anolog everything. IMO, its the best controller ever made for any system, and i'm glad they didn't ruin it by changing it. Also, we both know that the "specs" of the of the system and clock speed and all do not always tell the truth about the system. On paper the X-Box may look good, and the ps2 might look a little worse, but after playing all of them you can hardly notice the difference between them. If you were using the same controller for all three systems and didn't tell someone which was which, i know i would have a hard time telling tehm apart, despite what the stats look like on paper. The only difference comes in load times, which has to do with the CDs, not the system itself. Ok, i'll give you that noth the psx and ps2 have slight anti-aliasing problems in some games, but it is normally dealt with more than adequately. Thanks for the reviews, i just wanted you to have an opinion form the ps2 side of things, which is clearly not the one you would taken if faced with the decision. Sherack Nhar
Thanks for that constructive post, Tie Guy... that's why I think you're so valuable here Now, I have several points I want to make that might not have been clear in my articles. In the GC review, you praised the "innovative" anolog feature of the R and L buttons, yet you slammed the ps2 for doing so also. I was praising the GC's digital click feature on the analog triggers, which the PS2 or Xbox does not have. Sorry I couldn't be any clearer IMO, its the best controller ever made for any system, and i'm glad they didn't ruin it by changing it. I would've preferred if they took the chance. My complaint with the PS2 controller is that it just wasn't innovative. I would've preferred a brand new controller with some faults (as long as it's not entirely crappy) than what Sony offered: a rehash. This industry needs to keep moving forward, or it'll become stale and uninteresting. I'm paranoid on that subject - I really don't want this to happen, but it seems like it's happening... On paper the X-Box may look good, and the ps2 might look a little worse, but after playing all of them you can hardly notice the difference between them. That's because PS2 had a year to prepare itself. GC's and Xbox's games are still 1st generation stuff. In the long run, we'll clearly see a difference between the machines, I can garantee it. If the PS2 games are still looking as good as Xbox games in three years, I'll eat my socks! With salt and ketchup! Anyway, I'm glad that you liked my articles overall. I need more great comment like yours!
