Tom Bombadill rules. But as for one in the film I would go for Sauraman, Christopher Lee is perfect in the role!

I hope your kidding but incase your not, The Hobbit, the Lord of the Rings, and the Silmarillon, are all fantasy escapist books written by, J.R.R. Tolkien, who is now dead. They are very, very long books which are well written and deal with the one-ring and the struggle fro Middle Earth.

actually i wasnt kidding never heard of those since i am reading all the star wars books there are (thats alot) i am about have finished i think with all the books and i hav never heard of LOTR hehe are those books better than SW books ? if they are how? i nmean SW is the best

They are excellent books from what I've read so far. I've already finished all the Star Wars books, so I only have to keep up w/ the new releases. They are a little better in the fact that they are so long and involved. It's all one story, the trilogy is. Over 1000 pages of a very involved and diverse story. The style of writing makes you believe and your entranced to keep reading. Tolkien is a really good author, but the story is so involved sometimes I just can't read it because I can't focus on it.

Legolas is my fav, becuz he fires so many arrows and if someone is close to him, he just stabs him. Legolas is awesome!
