All the torpedoes I ever saw were fired at capital ships (usually a Death Star). X-wings, A-wings, TIEs, etc, all fired blaster bolts at each other. At least, as far as I can recall... So it seems like this would be very un-Star-Warsy. Why would you want it?
Com Raven
Shadow : I suppose you live in US, so I think between 5 and 7 $ each ... Chessack : In most novels and and all the LCE space-games misiles and torpedos are fired at fighters like hell, but I agree with you that I'd not die if they just use lasers ... FeldmanSkitzoid
I'm big into the books and can probably answer many of your questions regarding them. As mentioned before, Heir to the Empire is an ideal place to start. But that's just one book in the Thrawn Trilogy. The others are Dark Force Rising and The Last Command. I and many others consider those books to be some of the 10 best. Once you've read those, read the Hand of Thrawn books (there are two of them): Specter of the Past and Vision of the Future. If starfighters are your thing (and that seems likely) you should check out the X-Wing series. They're great. After 4 books, a new author takes over the series (Aaron Allston) and, in addition to having great plots and tons of action, they're absolutely hilarious. Not to say the first four aren't great. They are. Others that are great and influence other books after them are the Jedi Academy trilogy, and I, Jedi (read that one AFTER the JA Tril and AFTER the X-Wing books). Some other good ones are Darksaber, Truce at Bakura, The Courtship of Princess Leia, and the Dark Empire comics. Once you've gone through all that, start on the New Jedi Order series. It's the newest series and will eventually span over 20 books. This series is GREAT. The greatest thing to happen to the series since...well, its creation. But be warned: characters and places aren't as immortal as they were in the previous books... Did I miss any, folks? I don't want it to seem like I'm the only one that knows anything about the books. Unless I am. Oh yea, I was going to make a point. In the books (particularly the X-Wing books), they frequently use their missiles to take out enemy starfighters, but usually only as a last resort, or if there's nothing bigger that would require them. Now I'd love to see the Jedi Shadowbombs in action. They can't be tracked or seen because they have no propellant, and because they have no propellant they can be loaded with extra explosive power. Only usable by Jedi, because they use the Force to propell them to their targets.
Rogue15
i have some more ideas...the shield generator...there should be an upgrade where it can power a building that isn't in it's proximity, like in Escape From Fest in Rogue Squadron. Some new units could be: TIE Crawler (dissapointed this wasn't in..), Waveskimmer, TIE Droid, Tank Droid (rogue squadron type), and one new hero: Moff Seerdon

virtualoctopus
If they're gonna add ANY eu civilisations, these should be a New Republic Army, and a Yuzhuuan Vong army. Imagine Dovin basal-esque mechs pulling enemy units towards them! Another cool candidate for 'Fun EU race' would be the Chiss. We know nothing muc habout them, but Thrawn's one of the coolest guys in the EU! One last good race would be The Witches of Dathomir. These are female dark force users, who ride rancors. Very nice. They have just as much right ot be in the game as the Gungans and Naboo. I've read all the EU except for a few of the kiddy books, so I can answer many of oyur questions. darthfergie
If they use the AoM engine you can expect these civs... Empire Rebel Old Republic or less... Remember they will have very few civs on that engine because of the large amount of artwork...plus it would basically be GB2 not an X-Pac... No if they make an X-Pac they might have 1-2 more civs, tweeked graphics, More civ Techs, and All new campaigns and levels. And that is the MAX I would expect if they made an X-Pac... Com Raven
I hope they go straight for a part 2, nm which engine, and skip x-pack, or give it to someone else, maybe Cyberlore Studios....
MercenaryI{aos
I would like to see alot more "toybox" units as everyone calls them such as... EVERYTHING:D at least one unit for every fairly popular EU race or to simple it species that make cameo appearnces in the movies I'd like see the Old and New republic Jedi and elite forces as well
Com Raven
Well, those are cool additions, but I don#t think they_ll base a whole release on sandbox units...... q 3/2002 Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds: The sandbox expansion....
Duke Straykker
Hehehehehe, well, I think that they should at least put in another 40-50 units in the "sandbox" as you call it. And maybe 4/5 new campaigns, a lot more in depth and tougher to complete. I would also like to see the old republic have a space in the civ department, along with perhaps the new republic? Yes to better animation, ie; turning, or lack of, explosions, or stupidity of, etc... These would be an interesting add-on to the already great game. Com Raven
Hmm, I fear that's a bit much for an x-pack.... Most of those aren't that well-filled.... Only really big ones I know at the moment are MotS, AoK: TC, and BG II: Throne of Bhaal (LoD also, but I don't like that one....)
CaptainRAVE
Well I dont like GB too much.....so I hope that there isnt an expansion pack.....Maybe they should make a new GB with a new graphics engine and actually listen to the people in the forums.
