Obi Kwan
I have also recently started my DVD collection. Here's what I've got so far: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Dr. Strangelove (or how I learned to relax and love the bomb) Superman I-IV Easy Rider Moulin Rouge The Muppet Movie and my new prize possesion.... Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (on VCD)
StormHammer
Well, for me it's a toss-up between getting the latest game or the latest DVD film... I also just use the DVD drive (with PowerDVD) in my PC for DVD playback at the moment, so my selection of titles is rather limited as well... Men In Black (Special Edition) Alien (Boxed Quartet) Deep Rising Tremors 2 This Island Earth Blade Tomorrow Never Dies My wife and kids have a few others, like Shrek, Toy Story 2, Star Trek Inusurrection, The Fugitive, Space Cowboys... Of course...there are a ton of other films I want to add to that collection - especially some of the SF Golden Oldies (some of which I already have on VHS). I have made the conscious decision not to purchase any more video tapes...I'd rather get the DVD versions.

StormHammer
Originally posted by Millions o' Monkeys well why exactly would you buy vhs if you have acces to dvd ??? Very true, but... 1. Until recently, VHS has (mostly) been cheaper than DVD. 2. Some films/tv series have not been available on DVD until recently (and some are still unavailable in that format). By conscious decision, I mean I actually purchased a few DVDs before I ever had anything to play them on, and also the fact that I will probably hold out on getting a film/tv series until it is released on DVD. I won't be getting any Star Wars DVDs until they bring out the boxed collection, that's for sure.

Guest toms
i might be tempted to get a dvd player now the dvd prices are coming down to a sensible price.. it just bugs me to shell out £20 for a film i already have just to get some deleted scenes and a commentary that i will probably watch a total of once... if the LOTR dvd lives up to my expectations, that might be the turning point though. (and it would be nice to be able to watch my VCDs on the big tv downstairs... )

Uh, the much higher picture quality is a pretty good reason to get DVD as well.

Outlaw
It would take a while to type out all my DVDs. Safe to say it consists of all the best sci-fi and action movies out there. I run these movies on THX speakers using a DLP front projecter for a very large and sharp image.

Actually The Matrix Revisited is a two hour documentary on The Matrix, and doesn't include the film. It also has little featurettes on things like the Animatrix shorts, Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions, and The Matrix Reloaded video game. It's like the supplemental disc that should have come with the movie in the first place. Originally posted by Broode I'd just like to take the time to say that this is the best movie EVER.
