pinkpanther718 Posted February 2, 2002 Posted February 2, 2002 According to Theforce.net, there will be a "Speical Edition" Jedi Outcast released the same day as teh normal game. THis version will be in a tin box, and will come with "all versions of JO (whatever that means), Dark Forces, and Dark Force 2: Jedi Knight, as well as with a JO Key chain. Just letting everyone know, if it isnt known already, feel free to ut it on the main page, if it is, sorry for the wasted space.
pinkpanther718 Posted February 2, 2002 Author Posted February 2, 2002 Interesting.... it says at EB that it ships 4/1/02, does this mean if I want to get this version I have to wait a few extra days to play JO?
Rogue15 Posted February 2, 2002 Posted February 2, 2002 I'll be getting that version of the game since I don't have Dark Forces...it's stupid that they include jk, when nearly everyone who HAS JK and not MOTS...they shoulda included them ALL...

HAHA, in the UK EB it says eta 28/3/02 for both game and strategy guide
Darth Evad Posted February 2, 2002 Posted February 2, 2002 I would assume that the Full Version of JK would come with MotS.
Bio Warrior Posted February 2, 2002 Posted February 2, 2002 they might have MOTS with it since the current version of JK in the stores include MOTS i think
SL_Ki-Adi-Mundi Posted February 2, 2002 Posted February 2, 2002 Aye, that is true. MoTS will probably be wrapped up all nice and snug with JK. Does it happen to mention how much more the S.E. will cost than the normal one?
Sounds Risky Posted February 2, 2002 Posted February 2, 2002 Originally posted by Bio Warrior they might have MOTS with it since the current version of JK in the stores include MOTS i think Actually, it does not include MotS unfortunately.
SL_Ki-Adi-Mundi Posted February 2, 2002 Posted February 2, 2002 You mean the S.E. or the one in stores?
Justus Posted February 2, 2002 Posted February 2, 2002 Originally posted by OCH Actually, it does not include MotS unfortunately. Wonder why they are leaving MoTS out of it? You would think they'd go ahead and include it, lots of good single player and multiplayer levels in there.
SL_Ki-Adi-Mundi Posted February 2, 2002 Posted February 2, 2002 Well... when you think about it. MotS isn't actually part of the Dark Forces series. Just Jedi Knight. It's called Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith. So maybe if it isn't included, that would be the reason. If not just because hardly no one plays it even though it is superior to Jk as far as the engine and all that stuff goes.
Millions o' Monkeys Posted February 2, 2002 Posted February 2, 2002 the engine isnt superior is it ??? i was under the impression that it was the same
Executor32 Posted February 2, 2002 Posted February 2, 2002 There are a few improvements, most noticeably the colored lighting. (Wait, did I say improvement? )
Justus Posted February 2, 2002 Posted February 2, 2002 Over all I really liked MoTS. Especially the multiplayer levels, such as the throne room, cloud city gantry and carbon freezing facility, and the space port. I wasn't too fond of the carbonite gun or the seeker detenators for some reason, but I thought the sniper scope was especially cool. I also loved playing personalities in multiplayer, it's a shame it's hard to find a good MoTS game these days.
Mrentropy Posted February 3, 2002 Posted February 3, 2002 I guess my question would be, if they're including Dark Forces in the SE version of JKII, did they re-write it? If I remember right, it was written for DOS not DirectX.
Naphtali Posted February 3, 2002 Posted February 3, 2002 yes the best levels are the levels to download off the net but massasi and admirals command chamber have declined greatly in popularity. I use to play them alot,, and yes MOTs was better it made good enhancements I esp enjoyed the opening level. And they did good to cut camcorder scenes that they had in jedi knight Oh yeah for most lucasarts games, after the initial realease they do a sepcial ad release the game with other older games related. I bought JK2 and it came with MOTS so i beleive mots is just described best as an addon pack
Toa Tahu Posted February 3, 2002 Posted February 3, 2002 My God.$59.99.I guess my father won't even be happy to depart with that $49.99 for JO... EDIT:Does anyone knows what my father will say? "No way,JOSE!"

Com Raven Posted February 3, 2002 Posted February 3, 2002 Well, I think it's easier talkinf him into spending 60 $ on 3 games than 50 $ on one...
CaptainRAVE Posted February 3, 2002 Posted February 3, 2002 I hadnt thought of that argument point either......thanx
Com Raven Posted February 3, 2002 Posted February 3, 2002 Hey, you need roguish advice ?? Come here, I have it for ya...
rolsen Posted February 3, 2002 Posted February 3, 2002 Originally posted by Mrentropy I guess my question would be, if they're including Dark Forces in the SE version of JKII, did they re-write it? If I remember right, it was written for DOS not DirectX. That's a good point. With many people running winXP and win2k, the original Dark Forces is worthless, unless they fixed it up somehow to run on a newer 32bit OS.
CaptainRAVE Posted February 3, 2002 Posted February 3, 2002 Maybe they've done something to it. Anyway, I dont mind because I have Win 98.......much much better than all the other windows products
