Trailer Up!!!

Beautiful trailer, wonderful game. But:

- Still no 1st POV saber images/scenes. I wonder how acrobatics work (such as walk-on-walls and twirls) from that prospective, the one I want to use.

- Only a few force powers are shown, and we already know them.

Now, waiting for a demo... :naughty:

Thanks for the welcome, GonkH8er - I have been watching the build up of JK2 ever since around December - didn't want to get too excited too early but I agree that this trailer makes me want the game NOW!!!!

Lets just hope it has the long life that made DF2:JK sooooo good - and now the sabre battles look even better!

Come On!!!

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, had to get that off my chest. Now for the trailer,:D . It is sweet! I can't wait for the game. The wall jump took the entire cake, saber battles are the bomb, (I'll be using my saber all the time) and everything looks great went it comes to graphics. This game is HOT!!!!!!.

I posted this on 3DR's messageboard, but it fits in here as well (first impressions):

You would think that if 3DR can release a high quality 640x480 Bink video trailer, Lucasarts would be able to come up with something better than a crappy 3MB mono 320x240 Quicktime file that only shows some measly 35 seconds of gameplay.

This is supposed to be the official trailer, dammit!

That niggle aside, I'd have to say that the footage is pretty impressive, although not nearly as much as the DNF vid.

Enemy AI and movement has definitely improved over what was available in Jedi Knight and the lightsaber combat and acrobatics look ace.

I'm still not certain about the level and weapon design though, some of the environments are impressively atmospheric, but in some scenes the cramped feel of (parts of) Elite Force shows up.

Speaking of EF, JO's disruptor rifle is a carbon copy of the function of EF's phaser rifle (although the disintegrating effect looks even more satisfying) and is IMO more "Trek" than "Wars".

I don't particularly like the design of that rifle anyway, but it's good to see the old favorites in their new 'robes', gotta love that Stormtrooper rifle.

w00t0!

That was the best 1:11 of my life.

A lot of you were talking about the awkward looking wall-walk. I agree it initially looks pretty stupid, but if you look at his feet in relation to his body as he walks up the wall you'll see he looks like he's about to go into a cartweel.

Cool.

And I agree, the disruptor does look more Trek than SW. Especially this:

I agree with GonkH8er - its all about build up and supense. It really does make those few seconds of actual footage so much more dramatic than they actually are - saying you don't want the build up is like saying you don't want the music!

if they would have cut out the buildup some and added about a meg more of footage (that would have kept the file size about the same) i would have been much happier...i would have loved to see kyle finish out the wall jump....im kind of disappointed...i want to see him flip off the wall (ive been tained by the matrix)...but overall, im going to be distributing that file on cd for quite a while to my friends....

Uh, that buildup was awsome. It was like ba ba ba buhbuhbuh ba ba ba. buh buh buh buhbuhbuh DA DA DA. And the entire time, they are doing that animation of like "against all odds, choose your weapon. sieze your destiny." then the music changes to something a bit faster paced and kyle does that saber draw thing.

I have no gripes about the trailer. It showed the gameplay, the pace it is set (or can be). New weapons, new enemies and it was all built up perfectly with the afore mentioned buildup music. In other words, it was perfect to whet my appetite for the game in March.

As discussed in other thread, that turret could be the inside of an AT-ST, with Jan driving it, because I dont see why a Turret would have that kind of energy bar

Captain: I think the trailer is the same, what happened yesterday was a preview for registered members

Really, I was kinda dissapointed the way they did the music, but... I have all four soundtracks and listen to them quite often. They did a couple of weird looping things. Like TPM in miniature. Oh well, the point of the trailer was to demonstrate the game, not the music.
