I just completed Max Payne

I played it all the way through on 1024x768x32or16 to test my video card, and I never had any problems with it. That was a fun game. It took me about 15 hours to get all the way through, and I think it was well worth it. The end was really nice. I hope JKO is as engaging.

Ahhhh. After reading this I almost want to start Max Payne up again, the only thing is really stopping me is those darned drugged up dream sequnces with the jumping and mazes ;) Yea, I hope JO is at least just as good as Max Payne. Now I just hope it is MUCH longer :)

I actually quite enjoyed the dream sequences... Exept for the crying baby blood maze of course. If they had removed the puzzles from them it would be a nice insight into Max's persona as he goes slowly insane... I found it interesting how events that had happened since the start of his killing spree started working its way into his memory... Made me wonder if his family was actually murdered.

I would have to say the low point of the game would be Max's voice acting in one particular scene... When he finds his wife dead on the bed. "Nooooooooooooooooo."

*shudder*

I love Max Payne, I gotta borrow the CD from my friend again and install it then download the CD crack for it again. The story for the game is awesome, especially the first and second time you play through it, the story almost seems real to me. For those of you who want a quick way through the dream levels just go to gamespot and bring up the guide and then start up Max Payne, and hold down tab and press Alt and it'll put Max Payne down in the taskbar and pause it and then you can read the guide to figure out where you're supposed to go next, then click on Max Payne down in the bar to bring it back up and start playing again, I use this a lot only thing about it is you kinda have to memorize the directions the guide gives you then press Tab and Alt to read some more in the guide to know where you go next.

Great game with a fantastic story. The replay value isn't that high though as the story is so important and once you played it through once, you what happens. That said, i played it though twice anyway! I like the fact that the end bit isn't just like a last boss that you have to shoot a million times, destroying the helicopter by knocking down the metal thing is a lot more cinematic and very satisfying.

I might buy this for PS2, but the only game I'm playing for PS2 is Grand Theft Auto 3, and I haven't really been playing that for a few months now... the only thing that prevents me from buying it for PC is no multiplayer, so once I beat it, it will be gathering dust doing nothing.

GTA3 will have up to sixteen peeps you can play against in multi-player for the PC, I believe. =)

Yes. :)

It's most simple kill-kill-kill action with bullet-time (got old fast) thrown in - think about it, you slow down time to a crawl a lot and the game is still short. Everyone you meet dies, too. I heard you kill about 700 people in the game... for having a realistic setting this simply put blows. You never, ever meet a non-hostile person in the whole game, even the junkies have guns. :o

If you play Max Payne on the harder diffuculty settings that keeps it fun. I've played through figutive, hard boiled, and started on dead on arrival difficultly but never finished it.

Want a real challenge?

Try the game on 'New York Minute'...

You're given only a limited time to clear each level.

I had consumed way too much caffiene one fine evening when I was home along, so I finished max payne on all 4 levels of difficulty. I must say, once you've done it 2 or 3 times through, even the hardest modes arent really difficult at all...

Have you forgot the guard in a subway level, who you save from villain in locker room and who then opens up the locked keycode door for you only to get shot down? Then there is one bum, who you need to get gangsters open the door(John Woo -joke) and when they finally do so, he warns them and runs in... I don't remember that every junkie in the game had a gun though, but then again, I didn't threaten them all the time. Overally you are of course right: game would have needed much more NPCs and interaction with them, even though Max travelled mostly through locations that weren't exactly friendly neighborhoods.
