Favorite Star Wars movie?

Empire strikes back.

I really liked Phantom Menace, I just hope George Lucas will not be swayed by Fan's opinion for Clones Attack.

I agree with everyone that some aspects of the movie really didn't live up to our expectations of a new and improved Star Wars. But give the guy a break, we can't all create picaso's every single time on demand, we are just imperfect beings. :jarjar:

I personally enjoyed the 'Return of the Jedi' the most.

I enjoy not becuase of the action, nor because of Carrie Fisher(Leia, though in part ;) ), but because of the story. Luke finally confronts the emperor and redeems his fallen Father.

My favorite part was when Luke is fighting Vader. He corners Vader and cuts off Vader's hand. Luke sees the wires coming from the hand. He then looks at his own prosthetic hand. Luke then realizes what he has become--an agent of the emperor--an agent of the Dark Side. He then casts down his lightsaber and renounces the Dark Side, as in my favorite quote of the film:

Luke: "I am a Jedi, like my father before me."

Palpatine: "So be it, Jedi."

I think it was a great film becuase of the metaphors and dramatic devices, not just because of the excellent action.

Without a shadow of a doubt Empire. I always thought it was the fastest moving, had the best humor, awesome dialogue and the characters really came alive. Not to mention great battles on Hoth and Bespin, the introduction of Yoda and training on Degobah, the Empire chasing the Millenium Falcon. One of my favorite moments in SW is when, at the very end, the super star destroyer is about to put the Falcon in a tractor beam and it jumps to hyperspeed(whatever it was). Then you see Vadar staring out after it into space, then the commander(Admiral Needer?) kinda watching Vadar with such a look on his face like "I'm so dead". But Vadar just walks away with his hands behind his back, like the powerful and evil Vadar was *gasp* upset or depressed *gasp*. He even looked back out into space. Wow, what a moment.

omg hedgehobb that was hilarious. The comedy in ESB takes the cake. Great writing. *thinks* what happened in TPM?

Look for the new thread I'm going to start about SW lines and scenes.
