Toonces:

Eyes: Lift up his lower eyelids. His pupils also should be moved up, they are too centered right now. Try making his eyes a bit wider(horizontally) as well.

Nose: The bridge of his nose is far too wide and his nostrils should be much flatter, not that round(check the pic).

Chin/Jaw: His jaw should begin to curve a little under where his lips are positioned. At the bottom, his chin is not rounded, but flat.

Lips: make them just a bit wider.

Round the top tip of his head more as well(from the front view).

Try those changes and see where it takes you. Also everyone must remember that this is just a base skin,(no where near the final) to determine faults in the geometry. This is why it lacks detail.

edit: From my last crit post:

Try making his head less wide(especially from the ears up)....

Thanks guys, every extra set of eyes is only gonna make him more accurate :) Now that I have heard from keo and Anakin_S (very good eyes, you too loki :) ) I'm gonna start to make some tweaks, more updates within the hour.

Oh, and thanks keo for mentioning the skin. As he said it's a early version without a ton of detail, help immensely with geometry :)

i thought there is a finished model (yet not relesed)???

It's a model actually, not a skin, and the reason I decided to make him was because it appears that Klorel's Mace may never see the light of day. Plus we need one for aotc:tc

here are my suggestions for mace's model and skin:

1) skin is too red

2) chin needs to be longer

3) his cheeks look too puffy (i think this is why he looks so young)

4) add more expression to his eyes/brows (after all it's Samuel L.)

5) eyes are a bit too wide open

I really really want to thank you Toonces for making all these great models. Your work is very much appreciated.

A couple more shots, tweaked everything you guys suggested except I wasnt sure wether the chin needs to come down (like marriner suggested) or the jawbone come up in the back

heh, your right mariner, the skin is too red, I bet Arco is going to darken it though. your four other suggestions are great too, the eyebrow animation will be handeled with the ingame animations so a neutral position is good. when I have his face rigged I'll post some shots of an angry Samuel L :D

The bottom of the jaw should be brought up closer to the bottom lip. Also the ears should stick out further. And the shoulders look way too wide (though I can't really tell for sure from the screenshots you've posted).

Nice work just the same, Toonces. Say, you wouldn't be interested in a very small modeling project for me, would you?

It'd be a little project for you. For me, it's a big project. :D

You may or may not have seen it (though it's in my sig now), but i'm starting a Hogwarts (the school from Harry Potter books/movie) map. However, i've realized there's certain things in Radiant that I can't do - and I am unable to model (believe me, i've tried, and it was UGLY). It'd just be a couple of tiny things (e.g. a small owl statue that's part of a torch holding thingee (I can give you pics, 'cause I know that's really abstract, lol) and perhaps a few other things in a similar vein down the road a bit.

Shouldn't take too much detail, a lot of it could probably be done in the texture... but I know you've got a lot of projects, so if you can't do it, I'd understand.

Send me an e-mail at my drivingcatstudios.com address and I'll see what I can do :) Right now I have alot on my plate but modeling prefabs arn't very complex. Anyway, just shoot me an e-mail :)

Time for some zzz's, got company coming over tommorow. I'll have some more goodies then, and I'm looking forward to keo's illustration :)

I hate to get technical, 'cause you're the man, and I may be mistaken, but as I understand it... prefabs are like models made in Radiant. What I'm looking for is just slightly too complex to be made in Radiant (otherwise, i'd do it myself). I'm sending you an email at your drivingcat (that was such a funny SNL skit) email addy... you can see what I mean.

Wow Keo...

I was expecting a sketch. And the changes you made are a definite improvement (although they could be improved even more by the final skin vs. the base skin). I would still bring in the head closer to the temples width wise...

And is it just me, or does most reference pics of Mace seem to have him with his hand on his chin in contemplation of something?
