leXX
I like light (blue) stance. Why? Because I'm a fast player. I jump alot and stuf plus I like the lunge backstab combo, caught many a player with that one! The only downside to it is that people might think your a n00b so I do what I call "The Saber Salute" - just change stance 3 times, plus it looks kool. I would love to know your favourite stance and why? Lexx
BigMexican
i use an equal combination of red/medium, red gets me the results however, medium is just for counterattacking.
Brujah
I have been playing for three weeks now and I am not so nOOb anymore....: 20%of time I use Light, I use lunge against people who duck often, or just as a surprise 10% I use medium, against bad gunners or for fast round backsab 70% I use heavy, because its best, just dont jump, think and with practice heavy can be great. Only problems I have are with light users when I am on heavy, but they have to be REALLY good.
menohavename
I try to use all of them time to time. Depends on situation. fr example when I'm a flag guard and have a narrow passage to guard - it would be Med stance. when helping a friend in one-to-one duel - I use a Str. one. horney
i use purple all the time, because it's a real killer if your timing is good (and there is no lamer throwing at you everytime you raise your saber)!
Darth Sadao
I usually use an orange or red saber. I use the Medium and Heavy stance most often. I like the jumping aruond with the medium stance because of the cool upside-down airborne attack, also because of the speed. The Heavy stance is what I use in fighting no more than 3 opponents. It's a little crazy but it works for me.. -Darth Sadao
greedo626
I use light most of the time. I'll switch to heavy if everyone is spamming backsweep and medium if I want to do the flying DFA(I love that move:D ). also the light style forward lunge flying thing comes in handy on nar shadaa. greedo626
oops, forgot. I used to use heavy style almost all the time in 1.02, but now that it's less powerful in 1.03, I switched to light.
Twins of Doom
i use all the stances, if your opponent can't predict what your going to do then they can't counter you
tempest8008
Yep, agree with Twins of Doom. I use them all about equally. I'm partial for Light because of the lunge, Medium because of the DFA, and Heavy for the overhand slash. Any of the back+attack moves for any of the styles will suffice, but I must admit there's nothing better than being swarmed by 3 or 4 attackers and doing the Heavy backsweep and killing them ALL in one swipe. It's cheesey, and should be fixed and blockable in the next patch, but for now, hey, it works.
jedimaster01
agree with the twins of doom also. for me, it depends on the map. If jumping around is preferable to avoid being ambushed then medium or light. heavy is good if you like to block and parry and use the force. also good for narrow hallways as the only way for your opponent to avoind being sliced is to back up, which counters the recovery time. Twins of Doom
Yes, agree with Twins of Doom[/qoute] yes of course, everybody agrees with me:) Suprise is the best tactic in jedi knight ii. With surprise you need no other strategy, it covers them all. Change is part of surprise. Counter what they are using, change your force powers sometimes. Isn't it great to hit somebody with lightning in one duel. So they get absorb. Then they realize that you surprised them and used force speed next time:) Watching people helps with the surprise tactic because you can figure out what they will do. Once you figure out what they do you are prepared to beat them. I like all the stances for different reasons. Light: Fast and good for taking advantage of the situation Medium: Fairly fast and okay damage, works well;) Heavy: Gotta love the amount of damage, if their back is exposed to you 2 quick top down hacks can kill them, leaving them to wonder what the hell happened:) I use whatever I want to counter other players on each stance. If they use heavy I will still use all three stances, not just light, because everybody expects you to use light.
leXX
Since reading your answers, I decided to try a varied stance! I just went on a NF SO Duel server switching between blue and red and boy does it work for me! 12/3 final score. My game has much improved!!! GoneFishing
most of the time i use the medium (yellow) stance! the original jedi stance. it has, i say, the coolest forward jump airborne attack, and by cool i mean totally sweet! only on FFA when i encounter more than 3 ppl i would use light (blue) stance. because it is fast enough to make an swing and recover to make a block. in dueling servers, i think the changing in stance is really important. i feel the counter order goes like this. blue <---(counter)---- yellow <------ red <------- blue so depending on the opponent's stance i would change to my advantage. zenroth
Yellow or Medium 1.02, I also use blue from time to time. Cant say anything about red as ive forbidden myself from useing that stance(its to easy to kill with). I wont play 1.03 so I cant comment on styles there. Mentler
I usually use heavy stance. In duels 3-4 hits bye bye enemy. But heavy requires great timing and manuvering:saberr: It can block blue and yellow hits too 'yay'
BigMexican
i use medium and heavy. perhaps once every 3 or 4 rounds in a duel i'll switch to light and lunge, then switch right back. light is really a pathetic stance in my opinion. takes forever to kill someone, and its incredibly easy to get creamed up close by heavy. i base my saber style around medium. however i also make strong use of heavy, especially against cornered opponents and for DFA's. medium i use for "tagging" and kick knockdowns (saber throw + downward swing = 78 dmg, good amount and not as cheap as backslash)
Norin Radd
I use light and medium, constantly switching between the 2 systems depending on circumstances. I hardly ever use the heavy stance, because it leaves you too vulnerable to attacks. I've taken apart plenty of players who insist on the heavy style and always come in for the one fatal blow. I simply move to the side, and then cut them to shreds.
Elegy
I mostly keep to the light stance. Most people I go up against seem to like the red stance. They're very good at it, I'll admit. But it just keeps them so vulnerable. With the blue stance I'm able to sidestep from one direction or another out of the way, and then wail on them with a flew blows as they recover from their DFA or overhead swing. I got one guy hella pissed at me...he was the epitomy of hypocricy. Seemed all he knew how to do was back up, and then DFA at me. That was the only thing he did. So I tore him apart, and suddenly he's mad because I'm "bitching the light stance". What the hell did he expect of me, to just stand there and let him DFA me over and over again? I have certain people tear me up just as much as I can tear up other people. And it's certainly not like I do a headless chicken and just randomly slash at my opponnents madly hoping to scorew a bunch of hits. Nor do I sit there and bitch one single move over and over again such as the DFA like him. I watch em', try to figure out what they're likely to do next, and decide if what they do will give me a chance to dodge and get behind them while they're open to start wailing on em'. Light stance allows you the speed necessarry to get in, deal some damage, and then get the hell out when the little window of opportunity closes and the opponnent is no longer wide open. Jevesus
i prefer the hard stance, because it hurts more basically. ive won a hell of a lot of fights simply because im using strong and the opponent light. my sabre simply goes straight through theirs. sometimes i switch to medium stance for periods of time, or permanently if the opponent it using light and whirling like crazy. oh oh! ask leelink which his favourite stance is! *giggle*
BigMexican
hrmmm, always funny playing these light stancers who like to "dart in". you raise your saber, take the 24 damage they dish by "darting in", then smack 60 damage on them with your heavy swing. Jevesus
lexx: well, no need to convince either bigmexican, myself, or any other subscriber to the strong stance, we've played the game too. not all attacks with the strong stance take forever to recover from too. there is more to the strong stance than the overhead swing, ANY swing of the strong stance penetrates the blocks of the light stance. it is well worth it to take a couple of hits if the enemy is using light stance, if you by doing so manage to plunge a strong stance swing into the opponent.
