Breton Posted August 3, 2002 Posted August 3, 2002 Do you like the Rohirrim (or Rohan) from LOTR The Two Towers and LOTR The Return Of The King (the books)? Personally I think they are awsome. What does others think?
Breton Posted August 3, 2002 Author Posted August 3, 2002 If you read the books, then you will know. They're in Two Towers and Return of the King
Darth Talliusc Posted August 3, 2002 Posted August 3, 2002 i dont really like them much, if you ask me the ENTS are the best. gotta love those guys.
Darklighter Posted August 3, 2002 Posted August 3, 2002 Rohirrim are cool but yeah, the ents are way cooler. I wonder what they'll look like in the second movie...
Breton Posted August 3, 2002 Author Posted August 3, 2002 The ents are really cool too. But Rohan is the just the best
Exterminator234 Posted August 3, 2002 Posted August 3, 2002 i tried to read the books but i got bored of it
whitedragon Posted August 3, 2002 Posted August 3, 2002 Originally posted by Exterminator234 i tried to read the books but i got bored of it how the hell can you get bored of 3 of the best books ever writen
Yoda_623 Posted August 3, 2002 Posted August 3, 2002 Yeah, a really great series, but I liked "The Hobbit" the best out of all of them.

Rogue Nine Posted August 4, 2002 Posted August 4, 2002 That book was tough to get through....good gracious. Very informative though.
whitedragon Posted August 4, 2002 Posted August 4, 2002 Originally posted by XERXES read teh books dude, its worth it. And the riders of rohan are cool. Have any of you read The Silmarilion? i am going to buy that on audio book asap. btw ive read it if you just think ive bought the audio books
XERXES Posted August 4, 2002 Posted August 4, 2002 yeah it was quite a book to tackle...but was very interesting. The begening part was kinda like...and so so n so..the son of so n so, who happens to be...etc etc..and its like, get to the point! But i liked it.
thehomicidalegg Posted August 4, 2002 Posted August 4, 2002 hehe simarilion was good.....it would make a pretty good tv series dont you reckon? as for the rohirrim, the ents are cooler:p which is prolly why they didnt show them in the trailer to isengard though isengard be ringed and barred with doors of stone, to isengard through isengard as cold as stone as bare as bone
Tyrion Posted August 4, 2002 Posted August 4, 2002 I tried reading it too....bleh. The story would be better if they didnt have FOTHR...
whitedragon Posted August 4, 2002 Posted August 4, 2002 Originally posted by Tyrion I tried reading it too....bleh. Jedi_Monk Posted August 4, 2002 Posted August 4, 2002 I've read the trilogy and The Hobbit... Hobbit bored me out of my mind and the only thing that got me through Fellowship was that one of my friends was about to start a Tolkien bookgroup and I wanted to join it. Well, I loved TTT and most of RotK... I loved the movie version of Fellowship--liked it more than the book--so I'm really looking forward to TTT. Tolkien might be a master of the language, but it takes a lot of time to get used to his style reading so much of the dumbed-down language in contemporary novels.
darthweaver Posted August 4, 2002 Posted August 4, 2002 rohan are cool but the men of gondor are the coolest men. very strong and brave yet corupt and falling. tolkiens elves are very amazing and aslo i have read silmarillion
Aoshi Posted August 4, 2002 Posted August 4, 2002 yea the silmarillion is a bit rough to get into, but once you do it's an awesome book. you would only really appreciate it, though if you read the hobbit and lotr first otherwise all the myths and legends would be lost on you.
Darth Talliusc Posted August 5, 2002 Posted August 5, 2002 never read the silmarillion. i think the best book (of tolkiens) was TTT or ROTK. then FOTR then the hobbit. to me the hobbit was too much of a kiddy book. i mean come on the crash the dishes smash the plates song?
Lord_FinnSon Posted August 7, 2002 Posted August 7, 2002 Yeah, the ents were great and I also like to see that army of dead. Still, I noticed while reading TTT and ROTK that hobbits are my favorite group of them all, and it's also sad that Jackson omitted such a great character like Tom Bombadil from LOTR; true he may have been meant for kids primarily and wasn't THAT important, but still, he had right attitude and left rough, mysterious edge to the story.
