hehe simarilion was good.....it would make a pretty good tv series dont you reckon?

as for the rohirrim, the ents are cooler:p which is prolly why they didnt show them in the trailer

to isengard though isengard be ringed and barred with doors of stone,

to isengard through isengard as cold as stone as bare as bone

whos uh FOTHR.

anyway i think that the army of the dead that aragorn commanded was awsome. its one of the main reasons i like the return of the king better than the other books

I've read the trilogy and The Hobbit... Hobbit bored me out of my mind and the only thing that got me through Fellowship was that one of my friends was about to start a Tolkien bookgroup and I wanted to join it. Well, I loved TTT and most of RotK... I loved the movie version of Fellowship--liked it more than the book--so I'm really looking forward to TTT. Tolkien might be a master of the language, but it takes a lot of time to get used to his style reading so much of the dumbed-down language in contemporary novels.

yea the silmarillion is a bit rough to get into, but once you do it's an awesome book. you would only really appreciate it, though if you read the hobbit and lotr first otherwise all the myths and legends would be lost on you.

Yeah, the ents were great and I also like to see that army of dead. Still, I noticed while reading TTT and ROTK that hobbits are my favorite group of them all, and it's also sad that Jackson omitted such a great character like Tom Bombadil from LOTR; true he may have been meant for kids primarily and wasn't THAT important, but still, he had right attitude and left rough, mysterious edge to the story. ;)
