Could someone please tell me what padme thinks is sooo funny

probobly the fact that there is almost nothing real around her.

i dunno i'd think it was funny.

and that sucks about the mirroring.

Still can't wait to get my hands on it though.

Score one for Anakin. Whiteshdw didn't give me a full explanation (and I wouldn't have understood it if he had... I know nothing about how the mirror really works) but what I got out of it was that, because of all the curves used in the pit room (as we already knew it had no problem with the corridor) the effect was having a big problem rendering the mirror correctly. It's unfortunate, but them's the breaks. :(

1) This doesn't belong here. Take it to the Swamp. :D

2) She's not laughing, she's wincing from explosions and stuff that's going off around her.

From now on, please try to post stuff relevant to this thread.

About the mirror effect, Jedi Anaking was right about the curves. The problems is how curves are rendered in Mp i think. The problem i'm having can also happens in SP at on point in my map, but that's not so bad. I think it has something to do with the way the engine deforms the curve when your not looking at it head on.

Apparantly the MP engine handles the curves differently because it's non stop HOM there.

So i'm not gonna pack the patch in with the released map file, but for the people on the forum that want to play the map in SP i'll give it out if you guys want it. When the map finally comes out i'll just post it here.

I take it that you can't have anything in the pit room using the mirror floor without causing this problem?

Well, We've been tweaking and such for the past few days, and right now, only three things remaind to be done before we go to BETA, round the second.

A) A texture. When Whiteshdw redid the brick texture, ,he didn't make one of it's derivatives, a grate implanted in the brick, for use on some of the columns in the reactor foyer. Easy to do, ,just hasnt been done yet.

B) Fogs. He did some experiments with fog, hoping to get rid of the "noticible line in the beams" bug we saw in the last BETA. Alas, ,it was for naught, and we havent been able to fix it. So, we're putting the fogs back in that we used in BETA, and going with them.

C) Final Lighting. Right now, only one room remains unlit : The reactor. This also wont take too long, ,as we're only providing light for the platforms, and not the entire room, as LDJ did.

So, ,I hope this will take maybe another day or two. SHOULD be ready by Monday, so, BETA testers, I need emails again. You;d think I;'d write them down or something, but I didnt. This should be a short one or two day test, and I expect no major issues. Providing that's the case, the map will be released through two sources : PCgamemods.com (formerly Jedioutcastmaps.com) and my own site, http://www.geocities.com/shadriss/index.html. It will only be on my site for a SHORT time, as I only have 25 mg to work with there, , and the pk3, zipped, will still be in the neighborhood of twenty meg or so. At a quick guess.

Oh, I did a couple of redesigns also... most noteable are the hanger/reactor door, which has been changed a bit in the way it opens, the call buttons for the back room elevator, which now actually make noise when pressed (I changed from triggered elevator to one that uses a func_button), ,and a complete rebuild of the control consoles in the Reactor room.

ANyway, I'd say that we're less than a week from the official release, so the wait is nearly over. THanks for all the help and support, ,guys. It's been fun!

This map is IN beta again. Addresses will be sent to the testers shortly.

This test is gonna be quick and dirty - I want to get it out in the next two days, if possible.

As usual, testers, when the test is done, delete the file - you wont have to wait long to get the new one, trust me. :)

I beleive there is your answer, scroll up a half dozen posts :)

edit: Took this quick screenie durring my breif run-through earlier, I must say, I'm extremely impressed with how the map looks and more importantly "feels" thus far, a worthy successor to LDJ's brilliant map :) I especially love how vast the beam room looks and feels

It does look very impressive. I'm anxiously waiting to download it! Going to be great fun with the new models coming out as well.

I sent the address to all the testers who sent me thier emails address AS I REQUESTED. Which was only three of you. Which, really, is good enough. If no major errors are reported (and so far, ,there havent been any) then I'll be sending the full version to pcgamemods for release before the week is out, though I dont have a specific day in mind yet.
