I remember going to the theater and walking out awe struck and how everyone was talking about it. All the hype and the cool T-shirts, models, toys and books. I recently went home to visit my Mother and found a box in the attack full of Star Wars stuff including several original card set's that were only distributed through Sunbeam bread. Anyone else remember way back when?

The technology in movie making back then was far from what it is now and what made the original trilogy so awesome. I think that depending on what order you saw the movies in, plays a large part in which one you like best and in how you percieve the others. My nephew saw EP1 and 2 first and that ruined the original trilogy for him.

mima kake Posted September 30, 2002 Posted September 30, 2002 I was 8 years old when I saw Episode IV back ik 1978. And it blew me out of socks. I still prever th OT over the new one (must be nostalgic reasons I guesse). To bad we have only 1 new episode left though.

StormHammer Posted October 1, 2002 Posted October 1, 2002 I was 11 when I first saw Star Wars in 1978 (there was no Episode number attached to it then), and it blew me away. I saw the whole trilogy back-to-back when I was 16 (on the release of ROTJ), and it blew me away again. I've been a fan (but not a fanatic) ever since. Of course, after seeing it, it spoiled a lot of TV SF, which came nowhere near those kinds of production values.

But I do remember seeing the entire trilogy on tape when I was 8... Then I was fan until the special edition came back to theaters. Seeing Star Wars on the big screen was amazing compared to my TV. Now im a fanactic...
