Eldritch
I could, but I don't want people to have to mod the game just to play it.
nucular_jedi_14
thx, just do what you have to do btw i'm glad your making a hogwarts map, Harry Potter has to be my fav book series ever besides LOTR and The Hobbit. It looks great this will be a map i''ll play again and again. Oh and I got an Idea for your next map unless you add this to this map.. Ok here goes, ability to go outside of the castle and into the greenhouse, and make it on an island such as in the films/books. And the next map idea would be to make remake the tounament form The Goblet Of Fire. That would be cool, and like the underwater place were he has to rescue Ron. ok that's about it if you ever need HP ideas i got em .

Eldritch
My website is actually being redesigned. It should be up and running soon.
Altus_Thrawn
Eldritch-the map is coming along great. I love it. Will the library be included? In your website there is a pic that shows all the triangles, how do you make JK2 do this? I'd like to help out, but I don't have any useful talents...I can map yes, but not nearly as well as you obviously can. Your mapping skill / 100 = my mapping skill

After you have loaded your map, type ''r_showtris 1'' in the console. If you are doing this in multiplayer, you'll need to type ''developer 1'' first. darth_yomama
This map is schweet! I wish I had the skills to map like that. I can't wait for its release!

Yes, the library will definitely be included. And the plans I have for it are pretty detailed... it should be one of the best looking places in the castle. Eldritch
Ok, an update has been a long time coming. I am working on a new section of the map, but took a short break to give the Great Hall a much needed re-working (and facelift). Here's a couple shots... as usual, my first compile is a bit dark - i'll be adjusting the lighting later. The big doors to the Great Hall (and part of the connecting hallway). The new struts/butresses/windows. Scouttrooper's Ravenclaw gargoyle model is implemented, but I still need someone to do the other 3 house animals (if you're interested, please drop me a note/email/whatever). The whole kit and kaboodle. Let me know what you think.
rgoer
Hey, "great minds..." and all that. Looking very good (who expected anything less?), E-man. Can't wait to play it. One thing: I can't quite tell (it might just be jpeg compression), but it looks like the texture you've got on the walls is tiling a bit too much. Kind of noisy. Other than that, the architecture! Very nice.
Psynex
Ever get that ceiling worked out?
Eldritch
rgoer- The texture on the walls is indeed small. A larger version is in the works, so that it doesn't appear to repeat as often, which will hopefully take care of the "noise." The walls at the front and back also will have other things on them which should serve to further break up any repetitiveness. Psynex- Not yet, but I've got a new idea... we'll see how it goes. Eldritch
By way of a wonderful team effort, the Great Hall now has an enchanted ceiling. Thanks to everyone and anyone who gave me assistance.
The Cheat
this map looks awesome! i love the harry potter books and this looks like it will be faithful to the references provided from the movies and the books. cant wait for it to be released, even if it has to be split into 2 seperate maps

The Cheat
im sorry about that my computer was being gay and slow and ahhhhhhhh, i didnt spam. great map! i thought i read there was a mod that removes the brush limit, would u consider making a version that uses this mod?
Eldritch
Supposedly Dad*Mad and his team are trying to come up with a mod that raises the brush limit. I don't think they'll be successful, and besides, there's not much point to a map that you have to mod just to play. When JA comes out, i'll be able to do all the things I really want to do anyway, so i'll just port the map over when it does.
The Cheat
what new things do you plan to do with the map when JA is released?
Eldritch
The two main things that come to mind are doors that swing open and stairs that can rotate the way they do in the movies. JA is said to have scripting available for multiplayer, so i'll be able to do some things with that, plus make some changes for the new MP game modes. Altus_Thrawn
I like most of the new shots, except for the enchanted ceiling one- I love the shader of the cieling itself, but I don't like the supports running accross it.
Eldritch
By supports you mean the curved beams holding the ceiling up? They were in the movie...

I might do a modded version in the future that would implement wudan's swinging doors code, though. If Dad*Mad's team breaks the brush limit barrier (which I doubt is possible), then I might consider using it. Well, what you could do is if DAD*MAD does succeed in removing the Brush Limit, you could implement their success into the map file itself.. that way only when using the map that people's game would be technically modded, although if you think about it, ANY addition to a game, even a map, is a mod in itself since you are adding onto the OOBE (Out of Box Experience).
