As far as the Slave 1 comment above, it is a Firespray Patrol vessel, and quite weak at that. Boba Fett's has been highly modified over two generations. Lots of money. Ie. We tried reproducing it according to WEG rules and it nearly cost us 5 million credits. Some of the stats could not even be replicated according to the rules. So generally, assume that a Firespray is weak as hell unless a Fett is flying it.
Jan Gaarni
A-Wing is fast and manuverable, but lacks adecuat firepower, armor and shielding. B-Wing is a heavily armed ship, with strong shields and armor. It's not as manuverable and fast as an X-wing, but better than the Y-wing. Y-Wing is an old design which lacks speed and and manuverability compared to an X-Wing, but has great firepower, shielding and armor. 3 reasons it's still in use. And mighty good reasons to. X-Wing! Now this is my favorite. And all purpose fighter, this ship is capable to carry out most missions assigned to a pilot, from heavy torpedoruns, dog-fighting, recon, escort, pretty much all types of missions you can think of. It has good shielding, armor, weapons, speed and manuverability. A top notch fighter if you ask me.
Deft Aklin
I don't have any of my old WEG books left, but I was almost positive that the B-Wing was famed for it's maneuverability. I know it was designed by the Verpine for some corporation and I thought that the rotational movement the vessel was capable of offerred some maneuverability assistance that was revolutionary. Jan Gaarni
I know it was designed by the Verpine for some corporation ... The Verpine helped design it for the Rebels, and the project was lead by Ackbar himself, then still a Commander of rank. The revolutionary thing about the B-Wing is it's Gyro-Stabilized cockpit, meaning when the body spins around, the cockpit remains fixed. This lessens the G-forces on the pilot during quick spins and other sudden manouvers. This also makes the ship hard to control effectivelly at first. It takes time to get used to this system. Deft Aklin
Sorry Swediot, I just didn't want you to end up like one of my many MUSH characters, flying around in a POS that he thought was cool 'cause Fett had one.
bothanjedi
Ok,irulual , here's how it goes. A-wing was the most manuvearble and the fastest, that is what I want when the expansion comes out. The B-wing what slower than the X-wing by a bit and had the most firepower. The X-wing you got correct, it was a mlti-purpose fighter. And the Y-wing, well in my opinion, not that it matters to you, was a POS, weak, slow but could pack a punch if used right... and no I am not some newbie that just signed on.. I've been here a while, but negleted posting here. Swediot, please I beg you, don't try to copy the Slave 1, as a SW fan like us all, it just isn't cool, unless it's Fett, you know what I mean? Wraith 8
uhm.... maybe the once who played: and they remember a character there.. who was supposed to be your brother: Emon Azzameen Emon is the middle brother and second in line to inherit the family business. He’s a skilled pilot whose hot temper sometimes affects his better judgment. If there’s a fight nearby, Emon is probably involved. Aeron once said, "Trouble clings to Emon like iron filings to a magnet, and he wouldn’t want it any other way." he also had a Fire spray!
Jan Gaarni
And the Y-wing, well in my opinion, not that it matters to you, was a POS, weak, Y-Wings are most definatly not weak. Their shields are strong, and so is its hull/armor. It's weakness lies in its speed and manouverability. That's its main weakness.
bothanjedi
Well, then I guess just can't stand anything that moves so slow or even make a tight turn. Most likely because I am more accustomed to dogfighting in an A-wing or X-wing than I am in a Y-wing. Hey, if I offended you sorry.
Deft Aklin
Eh, either way, you guys can play with you're Reb toys. Me, I'll have my AT-AT to play with.
dradacuss
Personally, I hope the space combat works like the movies. If you are in a cargo ship with many guns you need other player characters to fire those guns, as well as on (or two) to pilot. Yes, it would be tricky but think of the bond with the fellow players to work as such a team. Of course if you fly a X-Wing that isn't a problem,....but how much for the droid to get the ship at peak performance?
Deft Aklin
I must agree, it would be very cool to work with a tight knit group through space battles. We can only hope and speculate until the expansion starts being made.
Sn1P3r JeD1
Give me a B-Wing any day, the X-Wings will be overused, I think, so I'll take my good 'ol fave...! If it's available.. I'd prefer the one that Obi Wan uses in AOTC (That's the Jedi Starfighter right?)

Good luck trying to find a Jedi Starfighter, you might as well be looking for a Sith Holocron.
