Burrie
This is a question that I've been pondering ever since I heard that the game would be released several months earlier than the PC Version... I myself don't have an XBox console, and I'm not planning on buying in the forseeable future. A fact is that I enjoyed Attack of the Clones immensively the first time that it was released... it also a second fact that I enjoyed it because I wasn't spoiled silly like with The Phantom Menace. Sure, I had seen some screenshots, had followed the background story via holonetnews.com, knew that Yoda would fight and had seen the final trailer... but still, I was taken totally by surprise by the explosion when the ship lands on Coruscant... I was intrigued with the whole mystery of the assassination and the clones... and I am *SO* glad that I didn't knew that 200 Jedi and a few dozen Clonetroopers would pop up to save the day(geez, you see all those fights in the trailer, and STILL I didn't see it coming ) So like I've stated before : I will probably get KotR later than the XBox owners... so what should I do once it is released? Should I go check all the reviews and visit the KotR websites and be spoiled silly? Should I fight the urge to stop visiting sites and receive as little information about it all, and thus be surprised by several plot twists? Thing is, KotR is currently the one game that I'm waiting for, and I enjoy reading through all the previews, screenshots and interviews to get an idea about the game. I don't expect to get TOO many spoilers by reading those. But once the game is shipped, I just might log in to the lucasforums to see a thread titled "OMG MALEK JUT TOLD ME THAT HE IS MY FATHER!!!!!!!1" (not saying that something silly is gonna happen tho' )... suffice to say, if a thread like that pops up, I'd be severely dissapoitned. But like I said, I simply enjoy reading all the news so far. So this is my question to the non X-Box owners : What are you going to do once the game is released for the XBox? Simply start reading reviews, still visit the forums, or will you simply stop going to websites to avoid spoilers? And just curious to the forum moderators : Are there any plans on having a 'spoiler-free' board once the game is shipped?
Com Raven
well, read reviews... stay away from guides and walktroughs I suppose we'll make it a rule on these boards that all threads containing spoilers have to be marked...
Longjocks
I'm getting an Xbox especially for KotOR. I wouldn't normally do such a thing except for the fact that I want to keep ForceMatch up to date.
TheMadDoofer
If you get the Xbox for KOTOR, then get Halo too. It's really good.
Taos
If that's the case, you should also check out Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell.........that will only be available for the Xbox (or so I heard).
Com Raven
11/18/02 XBox 01/30/03 PC maybe mid-2003 for the other consoles... Splinter Cell that is... can't wait for that one, and Mechassault...
ZeroXcape
We all agree that the strength in the title revolves around the PC version of the game. As for spoilers, it'll be hard to read the news everyday and not find out a few things... fortunatly for you though, RPGs aren't as bad at getting spoiled as other genres, like Adventure games Also, we will have a dedicated XBOX forum for users of the console version. The rest of us will have to wait for the PC title, (and real fun,) to begin
Eets
Yeah, PC is where this game is at. It's just sad they're basing it on the X-Box, because if it were based on the PC we could have had a toolset and/or MP.
Com Raven
well, I for my part mainly see this as a console rpg, as it comes to a console half a year earlier... and the mp choice has nothing to do with xbox, they could have perfectly made it for LIVE, and would have surely gotten lots of support from MS for it... it's just that BioWare just finished a 5 year mamoth project about mp and editing, and now it's time for something else... Com Raven
if that was the case, I'd be busy writing excuses for my teachers for the next 3 months...
