Don't expect anything from the expanded universe. George Lucas doesn't even take them into consideration when making the Star Wars films...he's telling the story the way he wants to, and it's probably hard enough trying to maintain continuity across 6 films...without having to worry about issues raised outside of those films in the EU.

there is one thing that bothers me about canon/EU ,in the book after EPI, raid seinar has the death star plans, and gives it to tarkin, who gives it to palpatine. next thing i see is WHAM the geonosians have it. 'm lost now

As I said above...George Lucas does not refer to the EU when making the films. So do not expect any books to tie into what happens in the films. George is inclined to change his mind as he goes along...like putting in the scene in the droid factory in AOTC. According to one of the featurettes on the DVD...he just decided he'd like an action scene in there...it was not planned at the beginning. So he's changing things as he goes along.

Don't worry...the same thing happened with the Aliens universe...

You never know, GL might throw it in when the DVD versions are released. From all reports, they are shooting more footage for the original trilogy, so that when all six movies are watched together, especially ANH, they will link together a bit more seemlessly...

All I know for certain in Episode 3 is that we will see, or at least hear Darth Vader - James Earl Jones is pencilled in for at least 10 minutes of "time" - whether that is screen time for Vader, or 10 minutes of dialogue is another question.

99.9% of the things about Episode 3 aren't known, even though I think they would be close to starting production in Australia for Episode 3. They did only take a six month break after TPM to start AOTC, the movie does spend most of the three years in post production, it certainly paid off in AOTC....

The infamous lava pit fight is mentioned in the ROTJ novel, but until I see the movie, or a trailer that shows signs of that fight, I am not going to hold my breath waiting......

George may decide, that since there is no mention of HOW Anakin became Vader in the movies, he COULD do it anyway he sees fit...
