NiKo Posted November 24, 2002 Posted November 24, 2002 So I have this friend, right? she's a goth. and she's been having Seances the last 2 nights altough she doesnt believe in them. Now, Today she was alone at home, she opened her computer, and it started making really weird sounds...nothing was opened, not Kazaa, not winamp, nothing! and the computer didnt stop making these sounds...she called me up and she was well, in a way, scared. (and she does NOT get scared easy, believe me) so anyway. i asked her to record the sounds and send them to me. I listened to it. it's amazing! I'm gonna use it as the end of a Gatorbait song...and then i can tell everyone the story behind these mysterious sounds. hear it for yourself, i uploaded The file so you can hear it and give me your opinion. are you a believer? do you think this is all made up? do you have a technical explanation as to how a computer can make these sounds from nothing?
Kjølen Posted November 24, 2002 Posted November 24, 2002 Well her computer probably just has a virus, or was messed up when she opened it, playing the virus or corrupted music. but the seances... well, I have no idea what they are but I'm assuming it could just me natural. Fun music BTW. Sound a little... too good to be recorded though.... [Edit = EEEEEEEEK! The fact that the music is EXACTLY 1.00MB is unsettling, usually viruses come like that. Good thing I didn't open it and just played it on the little Folder sidebar thing. Good old Win2k. But trusty Norton AntiVirus 2002 doesnt detect anything, so I'm not so sure about anything anymore.]

No. 2. Possibly. 3. Electronic parts can pick up radio frequencies fairly easily, it's possible for the computer to pick up noise from unspecified sources.

I probably shouldn't have laughed during that movie but it was, I just didn't like the horsey bit Actually I'm just a lil freaked out after listening to it there was a huge rumble of thunder and now it's started to rain. Didn't think we were expecting rain or thunder today

Al-back from the BigWhoop Posted November 26, 2002 Posted November 26, 2002 wot a coincidence, when i played the file for the 666th time (*), hell opened in front of me and i saw myself (*) getting kicked out of there by some hellish mushrooms and a "giant" koala (quite small actually). then the image of myself started to (*) organize my socks alphabetically when a (*) leprechaun pointed a larg swallow giving birth to a... erm... smaller swallow. meanwhile my image started buying more socks, but i remembered a (*) good advice i once heard ("never buy anything from a guy that wears tinfoil underware") so i jumped to stop him. When i hit my image, it disappeared, and then it started to rain!!!! wot a coincidence (*) - i ramdomly stuffed this message with 5 old topics, im not sure why.

But it sure would be nice eh? "EVEN THE DEAD USE WINDOWS", makes a great slogan I think

Guybrush122 Posted November 26, 2002 Posted November 26, 2002 if shes a gamer i know exactly what it is if her computer was shut down improperly or sometimes it just happens, sometimes the soundtrack to a game keeps on playing even when the game has closed either that or a corrupted mp3 file or something of the like was playing back then again, it could be the rise of satan
Joshi Posted November 27, 2002 Posted November 27, 2002 ooh, thats it, it's happened to me before. when i first got my computer, it came free with the game Magic Carpet 2 and sometime, in the middle of the game, the game would just quite for no reason (although it was probably a bug in the game or something) btu the music would keep playing over and over again. maybe this is what's happeneing. and why was she scared, if she's doing seances she should be prepared for the unexpected.
