Cracken
What, no Foo Fighters lyrics yet? Well, that dog just ain't gonna hunt! [Times Like These] I I'm a one way motorway I'm a road that drives away and follows you back home I I'm a streetlight shining I a white light blinding bright, burning off and on it's times like these you learn to live again it's times like these you give and give again it's times like these you learn to love again it's times like these time and time again I I'm a new day rising I'm a brand new sky to hang the stars upon tonight but I I'm a little divided do I stay or run away and leave it all behind [Everlong]<------Best Love Song EVER! Hello I've waited here for you Everlong Tonight I throw myself into And out of the red out of her head she sang Come down and waste away with me Down with me Slow out you wanted it to be Over my head, out of my head she sang And I wonder When I sing along with you If everything could ever feel this real forever If anything could ever be this good again The only thing I'll ever ask of you You've got to promise not to stop when I say when She said Breathe out So I can breathe you in Hold you in And now I know you've always been Out of your head out of my head i sang And I wonder When I sing along with you If everything could ever feel this real forever If anything could ever be this good again The only thing I'll ever ask of you You've got to promise not to stop when I say when She said And I wonder If everything could ever feel this real forever If anything could ever be this good again The only thing I'll ever ask of you You've got to promise not to stop when I say when [Down In the Park] down in the park where the markmen meet the machine and play kill by numbers down in the park with a friend called five I was in a car crash or was it the war but i never been quite the same little white lies like I was there come to tom-tom's the place to eat like it was built in one day you can watch the humans trying to run oh look, there's a rape machine i'd go outside if it'd look the other way wouldn't believe the things they do down in the park where the chant is death, death, death til' sun cries morning down in the park with friends of mine we are not lovers, we are not romantics we are here to serve different face but the words never change [My Hero] Too alarming now to talk about take your pictures down and shake it out truth or consequence say it aloud use that evidence race it around There goes my hero watch him as he goes There goes my hero he's ordinary Don't the best of them bleed it out While the rest of them peter out Kudos my hero leaving all the best You know my hero the one thats on
GonkH8er
Here's 2 songs I find have really good lyrics. A lot of people think Metallica songs are just thrashing guitars and shouting, but theyre not. One I Can't Remember Anything Can't Tell If this Is True or Dream Deep down Inside I Feel to Scream this Terrible Silence Stops Me Now That the War Is Through with Me I'm Waking up I Can Not See That There Is Not Much Left of Me Nothing Is Real but Pain Now Hold My Breath as I Wish for Death Oh Please God,wake Me Back in the Womb its Much Too Real in Pumps Life That I must Feel but Can't Look Forward to Reveal Look to the Time When I'll Live Fed Through the Tube That Sticks in Me Just like a Wartime Novelty Tied to Machines That Make Me Be Cut this Life off from Me Hold My Breath as I Wish for Death Oh Please God,wake Me Now the World Is Gone I'm Just One Oh God,help Me Hold My Breath as I Wish for Death Oh Please God Help Me Darkness Imprisoning Me All That I See Absolute Horror I Cannot Live I Cannot Die Trapped in Myself Body My Holding Cell Landmine Has Taken My Sight Taken My Speech Taken My Hearing Taken My Arms Taken My Legs Taken My Soul Left Me with Life in Hell Nothing Else Matters So close no matter how far couldn't be much more from the heart forever trusting who we are and nothing else matters never opened myself this way life is ours, we live it our way all these words I don't just say and nothing else matters trust I seek and I find in you every day for us something new open mind for a different view and nothing else matters never cared for what they do never cared for what they know but I know so close no matter how far couldn't be much more from the heart forever trusting who we are and nothing else matters never cared for what they do never cared for what they know but I know never opened myself this way life is ours, we live it our way all these words I don't just say trust I seek and I find in you every day for us something new open mind for a different view and nothing else matters never cared for what they say never cared for games they play never cared for what they do never cared for what they know and I know so close no matter how far couldn't be much more from the heart forever trusting who we are no nothing else matters

Lamm Waiting for the break of day Searching for something to say Flashing lights against the sky Giving up I close my eyes Sitting cross-legged on the floor 25 or 6 to 4 Staring blindly into space Getting up to splash my face Wanting just to stay awake Wondering how much I can take Should I try to do some more 25 or 6 to 4 Feeling like I ought to sleep Spinning room is sinking deep Searching for something to say Waiting for the break of day 25 or 6 to 4 25 or 6 to 4 Chicago, 1970

Darklighter
Faithless - We Come One All the subtle flavours of my life are become bitter seeds and poisoned leaves without you You represent what's true I drain the colour from the sky And turn blue without you These arms lack a purpose Flapping like a humming-bird I'm nervous 'cause I'm the left eye you're the right Would it not be madness to fight We come one In you the song which rights my wrongs In you the fullness of living The power to begin again From right now, in you We come one I'm not afraid never never scared Worries washed pressed air I am the left eye you're the right Would it not be madness to fight We come one
whitedragon
call me crazy but i have always loved the song nowhere man by the beatles. He's a real nowhere Man, Sitting in his Nowhere Land, Making all his nowhere plans for nobody. Doesn't have a point of view, Knows not where he's going to, Isn't he a bit like you and me? Nowhere Man, please listen, You don't know what you're missing, Nowhere Man, the world is at your command. He's as blind as he can be, Just sees what he wants to see, Nowhere Man can you see me at all? Doesn't have a point of view, Knows not where he's going to, Isn't he a bit like you and me? Nowhere Man, don't worry, Take your time, don't hurry, Leave it all till somebody else lend you a hand. He's a real Nowhere Man, Sitting in his Nowhere Land, Making all his nowhere plans for nobody. Darth Groovy
DEACON BLUES [Performed by Steely Dan] This is the day Of the expanding man That shape is my shade There where I used to stand It seems like only yesterday I gazed through the glass At ramblers Wild gamblers That's all in the past You call me a fool You say it's a crazy scheme This one's for real I already bought the dream So useless to ask me why Throw a kiss and say goodbye I'll make it this time I'm ready to cross that fine line CHORUS: I'll learn to work the saxophone I'll play just what I feel Drink Scotch whisky all night long And die behind the wheel They got a name for the winners in the world I want a name when I lose They call Alabama the Crimson Tide Call me Deacon Blues My back to the wall A victim of laughing chance This is for me The essence of true romance Sharing the things we know and love With those of my kind Libations Sensations That stagger the mind I crawl like a viper Through these suburban streets Make love to these women Languid and bittersweet I'll rise when the sun goes down Cover every game in town A world of my own I'll make it my home sweet home CHORUS This is the night Of the expanding the man I take one last drag As I approach the stand I cried when I wrote this song Sue me if I play too long This brother is free I'll be what I want to be CHORUS
SkinWalker
It just so happens that as I was reading this thread, I was listening to "I'm Ready" by Muddy Waters, first released in 1978 (I think). Muddy's lyrics (Blues, in case you didn't know) seemed to center around women and manhood. I'm ready is a good example of how a man needs to "put his thing down" once in a while ------------------------- I'm ready, ready as anybody can be I'm ready, ready as anybody can be Now I'm ready for you, I hope you're ready for me I got an axe handle pistol on a graveyard frame That shoot tombstone bullets, wearin' balls and chain I'm drinkin' TNT, I'm smokin' dynamite I hope some screwball start a fight 'Cause I'm ready, ready as anybody can be I'm ready for you, I hope you're ready for me All you pretty little chicks with your pretty little hair I know you feels like I ain't nowhere But stop what your doin' baby come overhere I'll prove to you baby, that I ain't no square Because I'm ready, ready as anybody can be Now I'm ready for you, I hope you're ready for me I been drinkin' gin like never before I feel so good, I want you to know One more drink, I wish you would I takes a whole lotta lovin' to make me feel good 'Cause I'm ready, ready as anybody can be Now I'm ready for you, I hope you're ready for me --------------------------------------- I'm a HUGE fan of Muddy Waters.... he set a tone that was picked up by musicians in many genres, particularly rock and roll: Led Zepplin, Rolling Stones, and George Thurogood, to name a few. Check him out! I also recommend "Hoochi Coochie Man," "Bumble Bee," and "Got my Mojo Workin.' " SkinWalker
