Wüstenfuchs
Browsing in the forums, I just had the sensation that people don't like him at all. "He would die as a padawan, but only survived because he got Maul by surprise. He became very arrogant during the training of Anakin, just to destroy him after. In the meanwhile, Dooku almost detroyed him, that was saved by...Anakin." Altough this is not the best biography for Obi-Wan Kenobi, I think that's what people think of him. So, what do you think? Luuke_Skywalker
obi wan is a stickler for the rules plain and simple. that doesn't mean he isn't a great jedi or that he's arrogant, he's just not like his teacher qui gon jinn who lived for the moment and bent the rules when needed. when it comed to killing darth maul does it really matter whether he caught him by supprise? everyone is way to harsh on obi wan. now if it wasn't for him the jedi order would never had been brought back by luke skywalker now would it? i personnally like obi wan kenobi and think he was a great jedi. Sivy
obi-wan is great he had maul out-duelled, that's why maul used the force-push, (the equivalent of kicking someone in the nuts) and he is not to blame for anakin turning to the dark-side, if it's anyone fault then it is qui-gon's, not that i think it is qui-gon's fault but if you're going to point fingers. why does anakin turn to the dark-side? the death of the mother that he was taken away from? is that obi-wan fault? breaking a jedi rule and marrying padme, (which i believe will have something to do with him turning to the dark-side) is that obi-wan's fault? i don't think obi-wan should be blamed
Taos
I've always been an Obi-Wan fan.......I am glad to see the prequals so that I can see the story of Obi-Wan and how he came to be. Now I'll admit he isn't my favorite jedi, but one I have always liked and respected.
Wüstenfuchs
What I love about Obi-Wan is that he's very well represented in the saga (Both actors are great). That makes him a very valuable character, besides the fact that he is the most active person in the saga, from my point of view.
Sivy
if you read on starwars.com obi-wan's character was intended to be luke skywalker, but then GL decided to split them into two characters and i think you can see this, obi-wan is as much the hero of the saga as luke is

JediNyt
Just look to my av and I think youll find out how I feel about him. One of the greatest Jedi ever! Well the Force is what gives a Jedi his power. Its an energy field created by all living things. Its surrounds us, it penetrates us, it binds the galaxy together. One of my fav quotes. Matt-Liell
He's probably my thrid fav jedi out there! as anakin said "As wise as master Yoda and as powerful as master Windu." Which i dont think is true, Mace and Yoda are better but still he's cool too!
lukeiamyourdad
He's one of the most important characters in Star Wars. Besides Anakin, he's the only other character that we can see in all 6 movies.
Mest
i like obi wan, not as much as luke but i still like him. you are right that it is not obi's fault anakin turned to the dark side SPOILERS MAYBE KINDA MAYBE NOT? Anakin is corrupted by palpatine into thinking that he could be the most powerful jedi and that obi wan IS in fact holding him back because of his jealousy. So for some reason obi and anakin go to some molten area (probably for jedi business) and obi lectures him. anakin gets fed up with lessons and being thought of as less than he could be and attacks obi. obi of course wins and knocks anakin into the molten pit. thinking he's dead obi leaves. and who should find him in that pit other than palpatine himself. nursing anakin back to health while simultaneously seducing him with the dark side. so maybe that isnt what will happen but i think it is possible. Padme's death isnt a factor in anakin going to the dark side. because in return of the jedi (if youve read the script) when obi and luke are talking after yoda's death he tells luke that anakin left (for where?) before Padme showed signs of being pregnant. "When your father left, he didn't know your mother was pregnant." that is the exact line from the script.
boinga1
obi-wan kenobi=cool obi-wan is the MAN (at least in the prequels). Yeah, he only beat Maul with surprise, but that was because Maul had been training to fight jedi since before Obi-wan was born. Same with Dooku (by the way, it sinks that obi looked so bad against him). About the darkside thing, I don't think anyone could have trained Anakin well enough, not if he acted like he does in epii (which is to say, like a big jerk). Mest
now that i think of it maul's death was his own fault. if he was truely gifted in the force he would have sensed obi wan's attack and either blocked it, or cut obi in half as he was comming down. if you watch, maul even stares at obi for a moment right before he is cut in half. Ratmjedi
I think that it was Obi-Wan's fate to survive and shape the galaxy in the way that was going to be shaped. It was the will of the Force that Anakin was born and it was also the will of the Force for him to survive so long and make sure that what happened to the galaxy happened. Had he been killed what would of happened to Anakin. What would Maul do and how would Luke learn of his past? It just had to happen.
