Calapuno
I just discovered that by using the CD version of MI2 under ScummVm, it seems to access the hidden copy protection screen aswell as the easy or normal settings that were previously only on floppy. I was just wondering what the big differences are between hard or normal on MI2?
Remi
The "Lite" version has less and easier puzzles than the normal version, as well as having a few locations missing. An example is that both the spitting contest puzzle and location is gone.
Thrik
And the deaf guy on Booty Island! Oh, how I was shocked to see such things.
jannar85
Don't play the lite version!!! It's not as good as the normal version!
Thrik
Agreed! If you do, you miss out on perfecting your gozzing talents.
elTee
I hate hate hate that puzzle. It was only after I completed Monkey Island 2 that I found out how to do it. I had everything figured out; moving the flags, using the drink, but I still couldn't win!! It eventually happened, by chance, I wrongly assumed it was the combination of spitting techniques I used.... bloody wind. WIND!
Thrik
It's the endless tunnels in Lechuck's fortress which got me.
elTee
Oh God yeah... that was another killer that I eventually got past through sheer luck and co-incidence. I only found out the very most recent time I played MI-2 (earlier this year) that if you look at the paper from wally's shop it has the lyrics from the skeleton dance. Remember guybrush - "I gotta get this down!" - well he does!

Then I noticed it didn't seem to make much difference what your "spitting technique" was like. I eventually concluded that it was random chance whether you succeeded or not, and went on thinking that for years. Ha ha. Reading a walkthrough put me straight. As for the puzzle in the tunnels of LeChuck's fortress, I was utterly confused for a few days, having exhausted the faithful "use everything with everything" technique. Eventually, I tried my patented new technique, "look at everything in my inventory", and all became clear.
