Deft Aklin
Just a personal gripe/request. When I joined a few days ago, I wanted a specific user name. This user name has, in fact, never made a post. Now I find that there is no way for me to assume this user name. Is it possible/plausible to have some of these user names cleared so that some more active members can assume them? Maybe an option could be added to the store so credits can be used to change someone elses user name. Of course this would be difficult as the people in question would need to be informed via e-mail that their user name has been changed/removed. Let me know. Also, for those non-admin reading this, reply if you support my opinions/cause. Thanks to all.
matt--
This will never be an option in the store.
Aristotle
There will NOT be any members pruned in the near future. 1) Sometimes people like to register for a game they are excited about prior to its release such as Galaxies, and they don't have any desire to post until the game comes out. 2) Others register, post for a game they like for a while, then may wait months for the next new game they like to come out by LEC, then of course they like to come back and post under their names that have the post counts they earned and the name they rightfully reserved first. For this reason, we cannot start randomly deleting user accounts nor will we be pruning in the near future. I hope you can understand now why we cannot delete accounts in the manner you request. Deft Aklin
First of all, I can fully understand your hesitation in deleting accounts. In this instance, it is seems as if some one has set the title aside, as the start date is 12/31/1969. I find it highly unlikely that this board existed in 1969. It has also, as I said earlier, never made a post. I was just hoping that somehow, it could be freed up. If you would like, you can e-mail me and I can reply with the name in question. I think I know why it is unavailable, I was just kind of hoping. Please let me know.
Young David
I'm pretty sure the answer stays no ... Those who come first have the first right to claim a name. The only way you could get that username is to contact that user if you can ... that's the only way.

After all, according to the start date, this account hasn't made a post in 33 years.
acdcfanbill
the 1969 regester date is due to a bug in the vB code... what, i cant remimber.
matt--
The 1969 bug isn't a bug exactly...it happens when a bulletin board that didn't keep track of registration times is upgraded to one that does.
acdcfanbill
oh ok, well, in that case anyway, it is still a non-deliberate result.
Deft Aklin
So, if I am correct, what you are saying is that when this board was upgraded, the person in question has not use the name since? Anyone know when that last was?

Deft Aklin
I guess that by reading the above post by Metallus that I can't get my name changed anyway. I found something else, not as good, but acceptable. Let me know if this is possible, though I gather you desire me not to even ask from the aforementioned posting. Editted for addition: I just realized how inexpensive it is to change user names. I thought it was more expensive than that. Nevermind then, I'll just have to hold off on the title and glowing name. Only 132 more creds. *taps fingers on table in anticipation*
