oi you guys are all sci fi nerds like myself?

you should go into the closest Games Workshop and get any science fiction novel you can find espicially the

- Guant's Ghost series

or the

- EisenHorn triology ( Xenos, Malleus etc.

both written by Dan Abnett, awesome author

i have read about 20 books from there, and never regretted buying one of them.

DO IT!

the dune series is the best sci fi ive ever read, and i have read all the star wars novels up to the crystal star. dune surpases star wars in every way. The star wars novels got really old really fast...there is always some warlord from the empire who has a nice ship and manages to try to organize the empire again to kll the rebels:rolleyes:

LotR (not done yet, but very good)

NJO (Complete opposite of all other SW books XERXES describes)

XW Series- Still good, even with the Warlords....

Redwall - It's about mice with swords and that crap. I only read the first one, Redwall, but it was very good and spawned many a sequel/ prequel.

and yes, ive never read any of the NJO books, i was talking about the bigger novels like Truce at Bakura, Thrawn Trilogy (which was pretty good) Corellian Trilogy, Crystal Star, Courtship of Leia, I Jedi, Children of the Jedi, Darksaber and a few others until i stopped at one of the later ones.

I finished after the 4th book. My library is the stupidest place on earth. There books date back to the early 90s. That is seriously the newest books they have. I got the 1st four from a friend. I liked 1,2, & 4. 3 was a bit of a drag...

I would like to finish them off. There are only 10, right? (only?!)

I really liked the Thrawn trilogy. That was probably my favorite SW book trilogy.

LotR is the best trilogy of all time.

The best Sci Fi book I ever read (and I haven't read many) would be IMZADI which is a Star Trek book that tells about how Troi and Riker met and courted. I liked it a lot but then again the last time I read it was about 8 years ago.

Have fun!

I don't know if you are making fun of me or not. It is funny if you are. I have a collection of about 30 ST books and 50 SW books. When I say I have not read m uch sci fi I mean other types than SW and Trek. The last ST book I read was a stinker called "Let There Be Dragons" if I remember the title correctly.

The Op-Center series by Tom Clancy is quite good.

LOTR is a definite, as is Harry Potter.

The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede is a great series of books. It was aimed at a younger demographic, but it is still a very good read.

The Hounds of God trilogy by Judith Tarr stands out to me as a great example of excellent Christian-based fiction.

The Dragonlance series by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman is probably my favorite series to read. The Chronicles Trilogy is the best fantasy I've read in a long time and is the only set of books that even comes close to comparing to LOTR.
