Iceman
How much of these planets will the player be allowed to explore? Hopefully more than just the one spaceport and/or city.
Tyrion
There's supposedly 6-7(or more) planets you can explore.
Katarn07
I heard 10 worlds. 4 to my knowledge, have been confirmed with names. But we have all seen that mysterious underwater world as well. So that is 5.
Taos
I think I read that Casey said there are 8 planets to explore.....6 known and two surprises. I think it is....there are several sidequests etc. These probably take you to some far off places at times. I have a feeling that you can't just go wondering into the desert of Tatooine though.... Pad
yep, we get 8 planets. some u can already check out here. (i would suggest swknights.com but it gave me gateway timeout ) HomeLAN - What locations will be seen in Knights of the Old Republic? Mike Gallo - We wanted to explore areas of the universe that were completely new. Some of the worlds have been discussed in the movies or expanded universe like Dantooine or Kashyyyk, and others are brand new like the decaying city world of Taris or the water world of Manaan. We also wanted to tie the game into the movies and allow the player to see some things that may be very familiar, so there will be several quests on Tatooine. FunClown
I think what Iceman was asking was how in depth do we get to explore the planets. In other words on Manaan, are we limited to the Space Port and the underwater thing or is there a lot more to do and see? I'm curious of this as well. Like SW Galaxies has 4.5 x 4.5km areas to explore or something around that.
Com Raven
I think there should be plenty of stuff to explore...
Katarn07
Some screens show you and Carth and (Lobot?!) wandering Tatooine. Carth is talking about the mining operation. There is another screen with a Sandcrawler in it... Probably as much as BG... Plenty of exploartion, just that bandits and wolves were always lurking about... Pad
Originally posted by Leemu Taos I think I read that Casey said there are 8 planets to explore.....6 known and two surprises. sorry to correct u leemu, but we get 10 planets to explore In total, the adventure will take you to 10 different worlds. We saw bits of a few including Tatooine, the Wookiee home world of Kashyyk, the Sith world of Korriban and a water-covered planet with a floating city. As you might expect from this last description, a segment of the game takes place under water. Without giving away too much detail, it involves using enviro-suits and coping with some large and very imposing shark-like creatures. *runs* edit: nvm, see my post below
Hannibal
I thought in a recent post they switched it to 8.
Pad
looks like u r right on that. they definatly changed the number of planets. How many worlds are there to explore in KOTOR? CH: There are 8 worlds to explore, in addition to a number of other special locations. They include planets seen in the movies like Tattooine, planets that are mentioned in the movies or expanded universe such as Dantooine or Kashyyyk, as well as all-new worlds created for the game. One of those new worlds is Taris, a city world that is in decay and ruin, where you can explore several layers beneath the city including the rotting underworld beneath the skyscrapers. Taos
Originally posted by Com Raven Asking myself why they dropped 2 planets... My guess is that it would have made the game longer......and/or they ran out of new creative ideas for planets/races. I think that it is the first of the two guesses. I'll try to steal that video Burrie next time I'm in the store......I'll have to have some help though, you know, like one person distract the clerk and stuff...
