Ok, this is what we will do. You say who your favourite LotR character is and why, then state your LEAST favourite and why.

(Note this is for the Movies AND the Books)

Fav= Legolas

Reasons: He's good with bow and daggers, he's an elf which I have always liked. He's at one with nature and he's smart and he can run fast and jump high (like me!:D)

Least Fav= Boromir

Reasons: I don't exactly know why, in the movies he bugged me. In the book I don't recall much dislike but I think its because he was so weak to the power of the ring and kind of conceeded IMO.

Anyway lets hear yours!:D

Fav = Merry + Pippin + Legolas

I like those 2, cuz they bring somesort of humor into the movies. Especially in the first movie. Pippin had some funny comments on the right times. I just fell for those 2 when I saw the first movie.

I like Legolas, cuz hes an Elf, hes an Archer (I love shooting from a distance) and hes one bad motha f*****!

Least fav = Dunno

I think that all the characters are great, so I cant say which one I like the least :D!

Fav= Aragorn

He is just one cool character. I liked him before I even knew what would become of him cause of the books. He is a strong person and he has been through a lot in his life. His lineage is something that is bad for him and many people didn't like him for it so that is why his mother took him to Rivendale. He is a good swordsman, can shoot an arrow pretty good, and kicked some Ring Wraith ass in FOTR. He is also like an elf cause he was raised by them and has the strengh of a dwarf. He also is a cool guy and is respected by the elves.

Least Fav= I don't think that are any of them are least my favorites. There all pretty cool.

Favorite- Gandalf(no matter the color)

Reason-

He is wise and experianced, and he knows just how to get things done, and he is an excellent military lear-type guy.

Least Favorite Character-Faromir(in the movie, that is. Not the book)

Reasons- Total butt munch. Book version better.

Fav: Aragorn - in the movie, and the book he is Da Man. Viggo is doing a great job acting as the character. Reluctant to take his rightful place, but when in control he shows that he is the leader of all Men...

Least Fav: Arwen - not for who plays her, but for the changes made for her character in the movie. Usually I am all for giving Liv Tyler as much screen time as possible, but not when it is a substitute for a few elf characters in LOTR.

Favourite characters: Éomer, Théoden, Boromir

Well, I'm weak for the Rohan, and I like Théoden for his pride, wiseness, honesty, braveness and so on. That's about the same reasons I like Éomer too. I like Boromir because he "rebels" from the rest of the council, he stands for his own opinions, but still do what he should. He is brave, heroic, but unfortunatly, a lot of people see him as bad because he had other opinions for how to deal with the ring than the others.

Least favourite characters: Movie Arwen and movie Faramir.

Favourite movie character: Aragorn; He fights with a sword, he can use a bow farely well, he is a king, and most importantly, he gets the ladies

Second Favourite: Boromir; Yes he appeared to be an ass in the movie but at the end he died with an extreme amount of honour and for that I respect him. He redeemed himself and he stood up for his beiefs as well.:)

Edit: Forgot my least favourite lol

Least Favourite: Faromir: I think he was just an ass in the movie and seemed to be lacking in the acting department. Just my opinion though.;)

Favorite: The Balrog. Looks really cool, I can just feel the heat and power coming off of it, it is just...awesome.

Lease Favorite: movie Merry and/or Pippin. They were OK in the first movie, FOTR, then they didn't really do anything or have any major part in TTT. They just faded away. Pippin didn't even meet King Theoden in the movie...I really don't know how PJ are gonna redeem them in ROTK.

Yea, they didn't do hardly anything major in TTT. I mean, convincing the Ents to march to Isengard is no accomplishment at all.

Favorites: Aragon- Awesome character, ideal fighter and hero

Legolas- One with nature, skillful, elves are always cool

Gollum (book)- The most unique character I've ever read about

Everyone else is great, I just like these 3 the most..

Least Favorite: Faramir (book)- I had recently finished The Two Towers a week before the movie came out. Seeing that dumbass weakling Faramir got me a little pissed off. That whole Faramir scene was poorly done, I expected Faramir to be more like Aragon...Oh well..

favourite: Boromir. sean beans a great actor and he was very compelling, i was very sad when he died despite the fact that i knew it was coming. hes the most human, and actually the ONLY human in the fellowship of 9 companions.

least favourite: Faramir, the actor wasnt convincing, i suspect they only chose him because of his similar appearance to sean bean. oh well couldve done worse.

Fav - Aragon, Legolas, Gimli

Who couldn't love this threesome - what an amazing choice of actors for an already godlike set of characters.

I love the class of Ranger in games - basic magic, healing, knowlegde of nature, swordsmanship and bow skills, animal empathy - great.

Legolas - The Dark Ages sniper. Honourable, kind, reliable, inventive (Orc at point blank gets arow in the head, and then Legolas reuses it! Great work!)

Gimli - Short bloke, for whom the only thing that rival's his axe in size is his courage.

Lest Fav - Sauromon

Acting was tad on the woody side. Thats it.

Not that I didn't like him, was just least developed and least best one so far.

i know the ents weren't that big of deal yeah rite what a joke the ents were one of the most important things to happen

Yes but in TTT, all Pippin did was say "No no, take us south" or something along that lines. It would have been more believable and convincing if Pippin and Merry actually did something major to convince the Ents to fight...

The whole Ent and Isengard thing seemed rushed and broken in the movie, IMO.
