Thrackan Solo
will Dial Up be able to handle SWG internet connections:confused:
Deft Aklin
Supposedly, yes. Will it run smoothly, probably not. In all honesty though, no one will know until it comes out. Thank the heavens for my cable connection. I just wish they had broadband here.
Thew Rydur
The devs say it will be "playable" on a 28.8k. I have 56k, since broadband isn't available where I live. I just hope it won't be too laggy.
Van_Flyheight
Thank the Lord i got broadband people. I cant stand LAG!. Spoils the game play. :fett:
Jan Gaarni
Well, guess what. If you have a sucky comp, you are still gonna suffer from lag, no matter how good your connection is. Just a small pointer in general, I'm sure your comp is covered for this game.

Sounds Risky
I'm going to wait until we get our new connection, I really doubt the game would be much fun on 28.8.
Altus_Thrawn
Thank the heavens for DSL. Good customer service, rarely fails. My comp is pretty new: 80 gig, dell
setsuko
My experience is that the speed is not as important as the actual stability of the connection. I know guys with fast DSL, who still can't play online that well because the speed make sudden drops, or even stops for a few seconds now and then. Point is: I'd rather play SWG on a good 56kb connection than on an unstable ADSL. Or, to be frank, I'd rather play on my stable 10mbit connection, but we can't all have those, now can we? Thew Rydur
Can someone explain to me what ISDN is and how fast it is? I think that it may be available in my area.
MadMardigan
It's a cross between ADSL and standard modem. At least speed wise. It's not much better than a 56k Modem and a whole lot more expensive. It downloads at 128k and uploads at 64k if I remember correctly. But you can pay more for higher download speeds. It also uses a special modem and two lines. Stick with the 56k or Cable Modem if you can. MadMardigan
